@@bernardyoung3107 Idiot typical for CC fans who only support CC and not her teammates. Boston was selected because she was the former ROTY, Won a Natty, represented the US in international play. Every team has a big ... so the players are selected by positions. Point Guard, Shooting Guard or Wing, and Post player. The backups are the are the same, the coaches filled every roster alike but some PG can shoot 3s, and some Post players can shoot 3s. A prime example on the Rose team there were no 3pt shooters on the original team but the Laces had several, Lexie was the final player added to the Laces and the Rose had the Wild Card. The Coaches had a meeting and chose to move Lexie to teh Rose and give the Laces the Wild Card. Now how these players are used is something different, some coaches have no ideal how to use Biggs while others know how to balance them.

AB was a little disappointing so far but it it's very apparently taxing for the bigs, they have to run the most , end-to-end when theyre already at a disadvantage for being fast.
I see Dolson excelling cuz she doesnt need to run full court, being a real threat on the 3's. For me the disappointment was with Katie Lou's offense 😢, i think she gets exhausted playing D on a team with too many players missing.

If the #1 pick doesn't talk him or herself up, but the last pick in the draft talks about how great they'll be, should I throw scouting, player history, projection etc out the window based on the player's words: Of course not I would be concerned if a professional athlete didn't have a healthy ego. I remember Jeff George, QB for Colts and several other teams never seemed to have much of an ego. He also couldn't take charge of a team and lead it to victory despite having every other quarterback tool.

I want to address the general topic of money-grabbing or players slacking. These women are alpha competitors. You do not have a job in a group of only 144. Imagine being one of the best 144 of anything in America. They have a competitive edge that got them where they always work on their game - or they're out. Once they get on the floor it's all about winning because that is what they have done their all life - with the exception of a small percentage. Just like in any profession.

    ⭕️ "splash sisters"
because the women's game is evolving from a slow, physical, dump-it-into-the-paint style of play to a more athletic, fast-paced, guard-centric one (an evolution pioneered by caitlin clark), kelsey mitchell will be the second most important player for the fever for the foreseeable future. aliyah boston is a good player but her style of play is more old school. boston is not particularly fast or athletic, has questionable hands, and is only above-average around the rim. but boston is a smart player, can rebound well, and can pass the rock. and she is big and strong and has a high basketball iq. for her to be most productive on this fever team, she will have to be the draymond green to the caitlin clark-kelsey mitchell splash sisters, not the karl malone to caitlin's john stockton. if boston can make this transition and become a second playmaker on the court ala draymond green, the fever will be perennial contenders to win it all. lexi hall, on the other hand, is a perfect fit for this fever team. she is athletic, dogged on defense, can run and cut extremely well, and can catch-and-shoot the corner three efficiently. if boston can make the necessary transition and if the fever can find an athletic power forward, they would become perennial favorites to win it all.
caitlin clark will be named to the all-wnba first team. now that kelsey has had one year to adjust to caitlin clark, she will be named to the all-wnba second team and might even join caitlin clark on the first team. she is that good. people forget that kelsey mitchell is the third leading scorer in ncaaw history and has the second most three-pointers made in ncaaw history. she is not an elite three-point shot creator, but like klay thompson, she can catch-and-shoot the three better than anyone not named caitlin clark, and she can drive to the rim as well as anyone in the league. having the best backcourt in the wnba gives the fever a huge leg-up on every other team in the league.
the future of the wnba looks bright because the biggest stars in college are guards, to wit, juju watkins, paige beuckers, flau'jae johnson, hannah hidalgo, olivia miles and taniya latson, to name a few. and no doubt there are a gaggle of girl guards in the high school ranks who are dreaming of becoming the next caitlin clark.
