I have watched hours and dozens of other tutorials - The is the best bar none! You nailed it. If I had this info a year ago when starting it would have saved so much. Thank you.
Hi, I got a laser cutter from my partner only 3 weeks ago and had no idea how to use it. I watched your original Lightburn 101 and managed to get going due to your excellent tutorial. I did notice you changed the size of your cursor due to a comment from one of your viewers at the time! Well done as it was difficult to see what you were pointing to 😊. I am 65 and Scottish and have learned a huge amount from this tutorial so thank you! I will continue watching. Might have a few questions later for you as I haven't gotten all the way through this video yet (I am old!) 😉
Thanks for the video - good stuff. I just got into engraving so its really helpful. I would like to see a video on framing items like how to center a circular graphic on a circular item. Right now I'm eye balling it and the engraving is always off. Love to see a Lightburn 202 video. Sub'd and liked. BTW do you have link for the 3M laser safe double sided tape? Would really appreciate that.
My laser has a jack for a manufacturer's air assist. Is there a way to convert that to an outlet into which I can plug a small compressor, so that I can control it through LightBurn? I don't like plugging and unplugging my compressor all the time. Sure would be a lot easier. And, as good as 101 was, I would like to see a 201, please.
If you're only going to watch one, watch the new one. But, there are a few unique tips in both videos, so if you want to learn as much as possible, you might actually like to watch both.
I have both the xTool P2 and P2S. The main reason I have not used Lightburn, which I have, is trying to locate the lase over the material because the P2 does not have a laser pointer. How do you align the laser head accurately?
Personally, I did trial and error to find the X/Y coordinates at which the P2 would accurately frame a standard size of plywood that I use frequently. Then I put a jig on top of the P2's workbed to make it easy to get the plywood into the same position every time. Not convenient to set-up, but once it's set-up, it works consistently.

That's great to hear! My goal was to make the most helpful LB 101 video on UA-cam, glad to hear I'm at least in the right ballpark :)

Very good 101 viddy. Liked how you zoned out on the menus. Best is teaching with a decent little project.
Thanks 👍
This was excellent. Your teaching style is great. I would recommend this video to anyone using LB. Cant wait for 201!
Thanks, glad to hear that!

Thanks, This was very helpful and I would like to see a 201 follow up
Lots and lots of great info. Thanks!
Thanks!
Yes to 201 vid!
Can you put a link to the laser-safe adhesive backing you used, please? Thanks.

Nice Video 👌🏻 How did you turn the workspace in to horizontal ? ☺️ Because i also got the bigger xtool d1 pro
I’m not sure I 100% know what you mean, but you can change the dimensions of the work area in the device settings. Hopefully that helps!
Thanks!
You got it - thanks for the tip :)

I don't know the answer to your question about the air assist jack on your laser. Maybe ask the manufacturer? And thanks, good to know about 201.
Please send me the links for your full class segments.
Hi Dale - here’s the link. the course reopens in about a week and a half: bootcamp.asherdiy.com/p/join
I'm half way through your tutorial from last year, should i finish that, or watch this one instead?

Thanks, who is the supplier for the 3M tape?
I buy it off of Etsy
That was a lot of info to remember. Is ball park a technical term? 😁
Ballpark is one of my favorite "technical" terms :)
