What are your thoughts on the new Motley Crue EP "Cancelled?" Let me know below! MOTLEY CRUE: DOGS OF WAR SINGLE REVIEW: ua-cam.com/video/12bbtgn6az8/v-deo.html MOTLEY CRUE ANNOUNCE DR. FEELGOOD 35th ANNIVERSARY BOXSET: ua-cam.com/video/rqOOlbuCRQM/v-deo.html
I usually listen to album format but there’s EPs I like such as Savatage's The Dungeons Are Calling and Metallica’s Beyond Magnetic, I think the problem with many EPs is that they’re used as throwaway stuff rather then something worth actually having, examples I can think of is: Slipknot’s Adderall which consists of six variations of the song and I mean more Slipknot stuff is cool I guess but considering there’s about eight songs that didn’t made the cut for 2019’s We Are Not Your Kind I feel like it was missed opportunity not to put out an EP or two of those outtakes during lockdown times. Sabaton’s Echoes Of The Great War which consists of three EPs with one new track each and the others having a similar lyrical theme to it, I mean it’s fine but I think the fans would’ve prefer a compilation of non-album tracks like PowerWolf’s Interludium. Guns N’ Roses‘ Hard Skool, which has two Chinese Democracy leftover songs and two live tracks and well it’s okay but considering they would put out another two singles, Perhaps and The General on the following year I think it came out too soon and now feels unnecessary and that’s the same problem with this Cancelled EP Mötley Crüe put out, two new songs is too little even for an EP not to mention both haven’t put out an album in 16 years. Anyway I heard the song and it's okay, but you said at 3:11 is exactly what I wanted to say, I wanna see bands follow their musical vision like Death, Bathory, original Pantera and Savatage, not nostalgia touring crap.
Totally agree. Adderall was a stupid release. Hard Skool is was similar to Cancelled… we’d heard most of the material already and it just seemed lazy more than anything else.
As a long time Crüe fan, I wish I could say that you are just hating on the band. HOWEVER! In reality, I whole heartedly agree on every word that you said. The guys made a big mistake by going separate ways with Mick Mars and now in 2024, hearing these few new songs that they've come up with, is just sad. You'd think with all the experience and money to throw around, they would be able to hire a producer that would direct their sound towards something atleast a bit more authentic and energetic, no. Everything sounds so lifeless, overly produced and bland. I'm not even going to go too much into the whole "cancelled" aspect, as I think it's downright sad, how these guys apparently still view themselves as "the bad boys of rock".
Totally agree with you. I don’t like running down modern day Crue, because I do like their classic stuff, and would much rather talk about music I like. Losing Mick was huge and John 5 can’t possibly compensate for that. Bob Rock definitely failed here… If the band are going to keep making music, they should try working with someone else, preferably someone who plays to their strengths instead of trying to make them sound like they’re 30 again.
I've been waiting for your review of this lol I'm not a fan of this EP (if you can call it that, it's like a glorified single release lol). Canceled is actually my favorite of the 3 songs but that's not saying much. I'll probably never listen to it again. And yeah Vince does sound bad, which even Jon Bon Jovi fresh off vocal surgery managed to sound better
Great point with Bon Jovi. I think the biggest difference between Vince’s vocals and Bon Jovi’s is that Jon was working with the right people on Forever and played to his strengths. Vince Neil is trying to be the Vince of old and it makes for a tough listen. I agree, Cancelled is probably the best here… although I’d probably enjoy it more if the lyrics weren’t so cringeworthy lol
On a scale of 1-5, I’ll give it a 3. I don’t mind the 2 original songs on this EP. I would say “Cancelled” is the best out of the 3. And I pretty much mirror what you say about “Fight For Your Rights.” I’ll stick with the Beastie Boys version any day. Not to mention, Mötley Crüe hasn’t made a great cover since “White Punks On Dope” in my opinion.
@@benedictdonald4338 I can tolerate “Dogs Of War” but what I loved about “Cancelled” is that there’s some parts in the song that remind me of the self titled 94 album with John Corabi, which is personally my favorite Mötley Crüe album right now.
@@TheCDGuyJZ they are touring europe after this tour in november-december so after europe comes North America so mabye summer or fall North American tour 2025
I think that CANCELLED is the strongest song on the E.P. , now I think I will get the E.P. Just for this song and the cover song FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHT. But will wait and catch it on sale lol. Have a great weekend cd guy.
Cancelled is probably one of the best Motley Songs ever!!! Dogs of War is Good and the Beastie Boys Cover is OK.. Nothing wrong with it just not as good as the Original.. Its a Strong EP though especially with Cancelled.. If that Song is the direction that Motley is going, we can expect Greatness because that Song is Awesome!!!
@@johndough6623na man his review is spot on , I’m a lifelong Motley Crue fan and ordered this ep , but let’s be honest all three songs sucked really bad , I bought it because I’m a fan and completist , but this ep is nothing you will ever go back to and listen to again , these songs wouldn’t even be filler songs on Motley Crue albums back in the day , and canceled has that stupid piano part at the end of it that reminds me of the worst Motley Crue song ever released Brandon , this ep really blows quit trying to be a Motley Crue gatekeeper because this guy in video likes different bands and genres , not even die hard Motley Crue fans likes this bullshit
All of those 80s hair bands started to cater to the female demographic at one point. The music was still heavy enough until Dr. Feelgood. That’s when they lose me.
I'm going to disagree with you on this. I think Dogs of War and Canceled are surprisingly decent. John 5 sounds good. I think he overdoes it on Fight For Your Right.
Glad you’re enjoying it! I actually liked his playing more on Fight For Your Right… I think they should give him more chances to let loose in the studio
Cancelled is surprisingly heavy. Oh please. Mick Mars hasn’t written a decent riff since 1994. You didn’t want it to be good. Mars’ release is the same type of music, heavy just to be heavy. I thought you might be able to give an actual unbiased review.
Mick was the defining sound of the band... their sound just feels empty without him. The Other Side Of Mars was a focused, mature, record with an identity. This is just a mess from a lyrical and production standpoint. Vince can't sing and the rest of the band are phoning it in... It's all just my opinion... I gain nothing from giving this a bad review, and if I enjoyed it, I'd say so, so I don't see how it's biased.
You’re right… I’ve sold 0 records, but you still tuned in to listen to my opinion Just a reminder, album sales are not always indicative of quality... some of the best Metal albums ever barely charted.
In reality real reality, this is a great song and I don’t think you would like it very much if someone just came on and criticized every single thing you do just think about it which I’m not going to do because I just don’t think it’s the right thing to do
Eh, once you put yourself out on the internet, you leave yourself open for criticism… It’s par for the course. Back to the song… I just don’t like it. I gave my reasons in the video… I’m glad you enjoy it tho

This new Motley Crue EP
is not good! *[explosion]*

3/5 is fair for sure. Crue have some fun covers… but rarely do I find them better than the original.
I give it a 2.. The cover song is appalling and “Dogs Of War” is just bad. The title track is acceptable even with the silly lyrics.

Mötley Crue hasn't had a good song since Primal Scream
I'd agree with that for the most part. Saints Of Los Angeles has some decent moments, but not enough to save the album IMO
It sucks period
Should have retired after Shout and stayed retired
Shout was only their second album! They really should've just stayed retired after they promised to retire several years ago lol
