Also get the benefit of surprising people with what most consider a meme weapon; that little moment of shock is usually enough to secure a fast victory.
Fun fact about the Beast Cutter - the Transformed Mode has as much stagger as the Transformed Kirkhammer, the R2's can pancake enemies and have ridiculous range. Both forms also get the Serrated damage bonus. If you have the stamina to be swinging it around and maybe put some Fire Gems in it, it's actually a really fun and viable weapon even with the poor scaling. It really shines in Chalice Dungeons imo, where nearly every room has a group of enemies.

Man, the threaded cane carried me through my first play through. Thrusting and righteous damage, serrated and crowd control damage, just solidly versatile. Another fun video, Lemon!
Fun fact Lemon: the Threaded Cane is actually really good! Fairly high Skill scaling, good gem slots, thrusting and rightious damage on the cane and insane reach and serration on the whip. It falls short in the early game for sure, but it can easily prove useful even in the endgame (I've done a few Cane only* runs, so I'm pretty confident on my stance).
Fun Fact: When I first played Bloodborne I picked the Hunter's axe and Blunderbuss because I was going for a strength build. To my surprise Father Guacamole had the same gear and I thought that his equipment changed based on what equipment you chose at the start of the game. I only had a problem beating heavy hitters with the cane. Actually I was surprised that it only took me 2 tries (+ several Molotovs) to beat Gascoigne with the cane.
It isn’t bad in the early game at all. You are going to get through up to at least the witches faster with the cane than you will with the axe or the cleaver, it tears through Amelia, Cleric Beast, BSB, third stage of Gascoigne, and the majority of enemy types through all of Central Yharnam. The crowd control will also have you getting through the mobs a lot faster as well

The Threaded Cane and the Beast Cutter are two of my favorite weapons! The Cane's whip hits like a tactical nuke when you put some gems in it! I physically flinched when you said it sucked. My heart 💔 how could you?!
Played through the entire game with the threaded cane, and loved it. Switched it out here and there, but always came back to it. Never realized people thought so low of it :D
The Whip is really good for controlling areas, I used it for an entire playthrough awhile ago. Like you said, that bonus vs beasts can become really helpful during certain boss fights. I'm new to the channel and enjoy your content :) Keep up the phenomenal work!
Although I'm more of a "LHB/HMS/big slow weapon/highest possible damage per hit" fan myself, the whip weapons definitely don't get enough love. They've got really fun movesets, and it's a shame that the build you made restricted the ability to show off the beast cutter a bit more, it's a great combo of whip and big boy damage when you get it upgraded and fitted with the right gems. Good way to show off what many players see as a joke weapon/a joke transformation of an ok weapon!
The threaded cane actually became my favorite dex (sorry, skill) weapon in the game. The range of the whip is just too good to not love in a game filled with angry flashmobs. The cane part is neat too, but I definitely depended on the whip way more when I used it. Except for parrying of course, but that goes without saying. Thing gets way too little credit. Also, the ladder joke cracked me up wide open. That was hilarious.
What do you mean except parrying? Parry+whip form is an amazing combo (you can’t backstab in whip form, but you can visceral after parry), since cane scales with Skill, as do serrated and visceral attacks, and they all stack. Do it to a boss, especially beast type bosses while using fire paper or fire gems, you’ll take a huge chunk out of their health bar
Threaded cane was my weapon of choice on my first playthrough of bloodborne and I loved it, watching this makes me wanna play it again for the millionth time lmao
"Probably the least used of the starting weapons, and for good reason" Really?! I loved it. The more you know I guess. I used it as my weapon for my run. One of the few games I have 100% trophies for. I will admit, only using the whip side would suck. But having very fast attacks, with some very narrow options, with the ability to swap to a solid defensive option with huge sweeping AoE attacks felt amazing. The quite solid interrupt capability for how fast it was was very helpful. Maybe that was only some attacks though? Fast attacks in a game that rewards aggression both for damage and recovering health is just great. The other two starters felt crap and clunky to me. I never do like slow weapons in these games though. And the other two are certainly way less stylish :P
I honestly think the threaded cane is underrated. Cane mode is fine as a shortsword type weapon and is adequate for single foes, but the fact the whip is pretty decent AOE that you get right at the beginning of the game is underrated. I almost always pick it to start with considering how easy the saw spear is to get.
Here's a challenge for Halloween. Can you beat Alan Wake using only Light? So, basically the Flashlight, Flare Guns, Flares, Flashbangs & Traps. On the plus side, while Necromorphs aren't afraid of light, Taken sure are. I just found this channel and I gotta say, I've been watching religiously. Good stuff.
I think it's considered bad because of the low damage in the early game, which leaves a sour taste in some players' mouths. But it has better scaling than the other starting weapons, the most range of any weapon in the base game with its whip mode, it's the only weapon in the game to have both the serrated modifier and the righteous modifier, it has thrust attacks that are great for killing kin, all its attacks are pretty speedy letting you do long combos which Bloodborne rewards you for with higher AR modifiers and it's just so darn stylish to boot. So while the early game can be a little rough, overall it's my personal favourite weapon in Bloodborne.
@@Fizz-Q You're right, I looked it up and apparently the church pick is considered serrated for some reason, as well as righteous. Unlike the threaded cane, which is righteous as a cane and serrated as a whip, the pick is both in both forms. Cane is still the only weapon with both modifiers in the base game. Church Pick's another really fun weapon too. I'm getting the urge to play Bloodborne again 😅
Just went back and rewatched this because I was feeling some bloodborne, and wanted to enjoy some great humor. What I got instead was actually the pep talk I kinda needed. Without putting a paragraph on here 😅 I just want to say, thank you, for being a solid reminder that we have to choose to be good. Thank you, Lemon!
Ngl how he ended it was fire “no matter how big or how strong you are your nothing but a shadow of the monster I am” then it falling and exploding into blood on him
Yea i noticed you barely used it's moveset. It has a long range heavy that'll have you leap forward with a vertical attack that flinches enemies decent enough. Also loading it up with slow and fast poison is devastating... to other players lol
Always love your stuff Lemon! May I suggest a game where the 'Kill it with fire' would fit perfectly? Pillars of Eternity 2. Lots of fancy explosives. Have a great rest of October!
I legitamately used the threaded cane as my only weapon my first playthrough because I got so used to using it that I couldn't get the hang of any other weapon. It's got such a good feel to it too.
I always loved the threaded cane just because of the deceptively long range, it was really surprising when it clicked just how far away you could be and still get hits in.
I actually did a Simon Belmont run using the Threaded Cane's whip form along with only other things you'd use while playing Castlevania a while back. I quite enjoyed it!
Lemon I just want to say thank you as you’ve inspired me to do these challenge runs and so far I’m having an absolute blast I just started an elden ring crossbow only run and I’ve never had so much fun you truly do make remarkable content and I can’t wait to see more!
i’m so happy to see someone, *anyone* play bloodborne again. this is my favorite and first introduction to Souls and it will always hold a place in my masochistic heart.
Tryna figure out why everyone says the Threaded Cane sucks,-- the game pretty much buckles under the Skill points you've been collecting in the mid/late game. Certainly a long-term investment weapon.
Idk anything about video games or anything but the lines you cracked out were sharp as a whip! That pun came naturally, but the jokes and comebacks you came up with were genuinely funny and/or epic, and I think I’ll subscribe, even if UA-cam recommended you to me for seemingly no reason-
The Threaded Cane is a very good weapon, at the very start it does fall short of the other two options due to it's low base, but it has incredible scaling, and fairly quickly catches up and becomes quite strong. Along with a very versatile moveset and serrated damage bonus on the whip and righteous on the cane as well as some nice thrusting attacks, means you have a very solid weapon
I played this game in 2018 for the first time and well… it went very portly, first souls like game ever. I’ve recently played through DS1 Remastered 3 times btw I love that game. After playing through I remembered my sons mother had Bloodorne and man can I fucking appreciate it now I can actually play now. I got good I recognized the difference in aggression from both and it’s just an amazing game. One of my absolute favorites in the series and it really makes me excited to play the rest, even when it can take hours to beat just one boss. Also love this channel everything you put out is so entertaining, I quit nicotine and found it pretty hard but playing DS1 and watching these vids has been an absolutely massive help. I never comment on videos but just felt like this channel is awesome and deserves so much love and appreciation I love the soulsborne community and this comment section is where we all are it’s pretty kool.
0:17 He has a point, not only that but there's one thing in H.P Lovecraft's novels that is more horrifying then the Eldritch creatures in it... the fact that he doesn't know how non-Euclidian geometry works. And also the copious amounts of racism... that too... but let's focus on the non-Euclidian geometry part because that's a lot funnier
One way souls games could have combated "jump scares" is the ability to knock the enemy backwards. It just seems like a few enemies will go over the edge but not all of them. Since Bloodborne doesn't have this aspect it makes me want to buy it.🕹️🎮💀
Love how the threaded cane is "the least used weapon" and the moment I come into the comments it's just nonstop praise for the case lmao I loved it too, my first playthrough was threaded cane into the buzz saw later in the dlc. Giving a big like and a comment for the quote Lemon said right before the Moon chick died. Loved it.
A bloodborne video released 7 years after the release of the game? Thank god! Bloodborne is my fav game n seeing this made me smile so hard. Also I’m like 1 minute in n I’m loving the style of this video. I’m subbing for sure
I did an entire run with the threaded cane, so no problem, lol. Underrated weapon. It has a great range against very tall bosses like Cleric Beast which require headshot to let you visceral them.
I've never played bloodborne and I don't plan too. But the ring wraith song in all of these videos gives me life. Probably why I keep rewatching them.... I have issues
I unironically love the threaded cane. The range and CC are just so comfy. Every time I try to force myself to start a new run with saw cleaver or hunter axe, but I always go back to the threaded cane
I love to see you do a run that has "technicalities" and is actually several runs in one go. Like, you use a whip until you kill the first boss, and since technically the whip has a secondary where you can backstab even though it's a whip, it still counts. So on, and so forth. It doesn't have to be bloodborn, any game in general where this would work though would be hilarious to see what you'd come up with as "technically".
Threaded Cane was the only weapon I really used in my first play through. It felt like a well crafted 3-D Castlevania game with that joker and I loved every minute of it.
12:34 I always read him as a guy who made a deal with eldritch beings to come back after death. Probably NOT what he intended, but that's eldritch deals for you.
Jump attack with threaded cane has some massive phantom range. Also the amydalan arm (another dlc weapon) also has a whip-like mode (but up to personal preference if it truly is a whip weapon).
"The least-used of the starting options" i used it every. single. time. I started one run without it and went straight back. It's just too fucking cool.
12:29 I always thought of The One Reborn as a guy that made a deal with an old one to come back when he dies... but old ones aren't very understanding of the simplicities of the human form. "You want your soul put back into a form made of human? okay. ... Why are you screaming so much?"
Best game ever is back on the channel! I love the beast cutter! It's best on quality but my vit gouge / str hunter with beast cutter, gatling gun and a cannon is super fun in both PvE and PvP. The cane is also very fun and carried me all the way through Elien's questline on my arcane / skill build. Pun unintended
If you ever play this game for fun on your own time, the beast cutter is a super fun weapon to use. I had a blast on my playthrough with it and I think you would too.

Good stuff.
Damn the threaded cane, when Inwas first starting this thing seemed so good. I had no idea it was considered bad. Felt like Simon Belmont
@@LuciferLuckless i think there is another weapon with both modifiers but i forgot
@@Fizz-Q church pick i believe
@@Fizz-Q You're right, I looked it up and apparently the church pick is considered serrated for some reason, as well as righteous. Unlike the threaded cane, which is righteous as a cane and serrated as a whip, the pick is both in both forms. Cane is still the only weapon with both modifiers in the base game. Church Pick's another really fun weapon too. I'm getting the urge to play Bloodborne again 😅
@@LuciferLuckless same
Just went back and rewatched this because I was feeling some bloodborne, and wanted to enjoy some great humor. What I got instead was actually the pep talk I kinda needed. Without putting a paragraph on here 😅 I just want to say, thank you, for being a solid reminder that we have to choose to be good. Thank you, Lemon!
Ngl how he ended it was fire “no matter how big or how strong you are your nothing but a shadow of the monster I am” then it falling and exploding into blood on him
The cane whip is one of my favorite weapons it's cool to see other people using it
I will truely never understand how this man has this much patience to complete all these runs. Keep going with the awesome content lemon!
The best thing about whip mode is its jumping attack - the range on that is terrific
Yea i noticed you barely used it's moveset. It has a long range heavy that'll have you leap forward with a vertical attack that flinches enemies decent enough. Also loading it up with slow and fast poison is devastating... to other players lol
he can only do whip looking attacks on it
The threaded cane is my favourite weapon. I love the quick up close playstyle it gives.
Always love your stuff Lemon! May I suggest a game where the 'Kill it with fire' would fit perfectly? Pillars of Eternity 2. Lots of fancy explosives. Have a great rest of October!
In the same vane, Pathfinder wrath of the rightious. Lotta fire and even a class that's gimick is making and throwing firebombs
I legitamately used the threaded cane as my only weapon my first playthrough because I got so used to using it that I couldn't get the hang of any other weapon. It's got such a good feel to it too.
Threaded cane is probably my favourite weapon in bloodborne.
Conceptually I like Hunter's blade (that sword which becomes even bigger sword) best even though threaded cane is just reliable workhorse.
Lemon I just want to say thank you as you’ve inspired me to do these challenge runs and so far I’m having an absolute blast I just started an elden ring crossbow only run and I’ve never had so much fun you truly do make remarkable content and I can’t wait to see more!
WHAT! I always use the threaded cane. It's awesome!
i’m so happy to see someone, *anyone* play bloodborne again. this is my favorite and first introduction to Souls and it will always hold a place in my masochistic heart.
Anyone? :o
That pun came naturally, but the jokes and comebacks you came up with were genuinely funny and/or epic, and I think I’ll subscribe, even if UA-cam recommended you to me for seemingly no reason-
Yes another whip only run!
choosing you are the end as the background music as you curbstomp the final few bosses was a nice touch
I always choose the cane. It has significantly more style than the other starting weapons.
16:31 did the backlogs just witnessed a sign he's going to the lands between?
"widely accepted to be a pretty garbage weapon." - maybe that's why I didn't get very far on BB, since I chose it as my primary weapon...
You can easilly beat the game with the whip, literally my first playthrough
The Threaded Cane is a very good weapon, at the very start it does fall short of the other two options due to it's low base, but it has incredible scaling, and fairly quickly catches up and becomes quite strong. Along with a very versatile moveset and serrated damage bonus on the whip and righteous on the cane as well as some nice thrusting attacks, means you have a very solid weapon
I don't think the problem was the cane there.
So couldn't you technicaly use the transformed version of the amygdalyn arm?
A man who appreciates both Dunkey and Yahtzee. You’re a new breed and a well received one at that my friend
Since Bloodborne doesn't have this aspect it makes me want to buy it.🕹️🎮💀
The Answer is yes but hard
Love how the threaded cane is "the least used weapon" and the moment I come into the comments it's just nonstop praise for the case lmao I loved it too, my first playthrough was threaded cane into the buzz saw later in the dlc.
Giving a big like and a comment for the quote Lemon said right before the Moon chick died. Loved it.
Ok i love the uno reverse from the first bloodborne challenge run, this was an incredibly fun watch ^^
okay the helmet dinging on the ladder at 16:42 was the fuckin funniest thing in the entire video. that was excellent
The soundtrack earned your like, danm, wasn't expecting run from hotline miami and Bloodborne together :)
Just wanted to say thank you for the entertaining videos your sense of humor is great. I’m going to give bloodborne a try!
Can’t wait to officially turn another year older on the spookiest day of the year.
I've never played bloodborne and I don't plan too. But the ring wraith song in all of these videos gives me life. Probably why I keep rewatching them....
I have issues
4:15 I just love how all the tombstones crumble when Gascoigne came down. It really adds to the "You said what?" moment.
I know this is a compelation video and youre an experienced player, but you make these bosses look way easier than many of them are lol
"Amygdala casts vicious mockery
It's super effective!"
I'm running a Bloodborne D&D campaign and ooooooh boy this gives me a wonderful idea.
I watched the "Molotovs Only" video and I haven't slept in weeks! 10/10, would be horrified again.
As part of spookie month I did all saw movies in one session... I don't have any regrets... Well... Yes! I'm only regrets! xD
Jump attack with threaded cane has some massive phantom range. Also the amydalan arm (another dlc weapon) also has a whip-like mode (but up to personal preference if it truly is a whip weapon).
I would absolutely consider the transformed Ammy Arm to be a "whip", or at least a flail.
You could even make a case for the Kos Parasite.
"The least-used of the starting options" i used it every. single. time. I started one run without it and went straight back. It's just too fucking cool.
The whip only series is my most favorite you keep whipping those beasties and boys
my first playthrough of bloodborne I went full glass cannon threaded cane, was amazing. great vid
12:29 I always thought of The One Reborn as a guy that made a deal with an old one to come back when he dies... but old ones aren't very understanding of the simplicities of the human form. "You want your soul put back into a form made of human? okay. ... Why are you screaming so much?"
im glad to see my fav soulsborne youtuber playing bloodborne, it makes me wanna play it again
You actually hit me with one of the hardest lines ever: "In the end, you're just a shadow of the monster I am." Goddamn.
In this video you really sound like Nathan Fillion and imagining Cayde playing Bloodborne is something I needed
What this guy considers a challenge run. My swaggy Top Hat Hunter. Considered a regular playthrough lol.
majestic indeed! glad you seemed to enjoy this run the last couple have been nasty haha
nice work, Bloodborne is still my favorite fromsoft game
14:54 I always laughed out loud the way Micolash died. Aaaaarrgh! 😂🤣💀
20:44 And this one too. Lmao!
I liked the bell helmet hitting every step sliding down the ladder 😆
16:42 it's always little things like this that make your videos so great
If you ever play this game for fun on your own time, the beast cutter is a super fun weapon to use. I had a blast on my playthrough with it and I think you would too.
"Doesn't have jumpscares" I beg to differ 😭
I nearly had a heart attack from one of the bug things near Rom jumping up out of nowhere when I was opening a chest at the top of the tower.
