Catching up with a few of the crew to see some of their jobs for the winter and shipyard period. Speaking with the Cat engineers and speaking with Harry on Chasing AWOL.
Marine engineering is the summum of engineering in my totally unqualified opinion. :) I find it amazing to look at what human ingenuity has achieved in terms of power, reliability, design etc. I have only been on a ferry boat but I can spend hours watching ships entering and leaving the harbour of Nice, France. Too bad the days of the old car ferries of the SNCM are over. I’ll never forget the eighties and the spectacle of three huge car ferries at the quays in peak season with five or more daily crossings to Corsica.
Wonderful videos. Im glad I came across your channel, I love seeing this side of yachting. All everyone wants to show is the glamorous side. This is what interest and relates to me.
Thanks Tristan for a very informative episode - boats are very maintenance intensive pieces of machinery - you need very deep pockets to keep them up to such a high standard as you do.👌👍👏👏👏👏
Having watch 2018/2019 & 2019/2020 Winter work in the shipyard.... on average, what are your approximate costs for all of this work? Also, boats that are dual season and head to the Caribbean, how do they work in this type of maintenance work?
As a marine engineer in the commercial an private industry for 37 years it is nice to see and show the public what it take to maintain a yacht.

As a former seasonal worker I like seeing crew able to keep working in the shoulder and/or off season. 😊

Tops to Harry for a bang-up job!
I wonder if the bow thruster was leaking back then before it decided to check out and attempt to sink it this year!
All the best to Harry.
I love watching the VLOG also great training for you Tristan and now finally understanding the secrets of the floatswitch! 😘
Oh wow, Florian is pretty handsome for sure. Not my normal type, but he looks great.
Boy, Axopar makes a nice boat.
Have you thought of applying Xyladecor on those bare wood panel covers to prevent molds?
Never mind. Spoke to soon.

Harry lives on the chase boat? Tour some day?
Captain Mortlock, Since you go to multiple locations, I was wondering how many langues do you speak?
So what is Harry's new career?
Where is Harry going?
How much did the refit cost?
Rough sum would be enough.
very interesting content. small note - footage needs to be smoother.
Hi-are you able to give the name of the yacht please?
...have you read the description? And seen the video? ;)
