Heavy music, I've watched Pat play from 3 feet away privately before a soundcheck, I wonder if he knows what a beautiful gift that was to watch him warm up then sit alone in the theater to watch the band....he let me in because I had to play that night myself....
Love this tune from the old-Pmg band but never with this vitality , tight yet broken free if you see my meaning. Pat, paul steve and Lyle bouncing off each other awesome, also excellent support from the vocalists bravo..
Feel so blessed that i got introduced to PMG when they started in 1977 and saw all the generations of this extraordinary band for their entire 28-year existence. From Pat and Lyle and the core of the two bassist and 3 drummers and numerous supporting players, was a beautiful and life changing experiences. Great version of this tune. Thanks for posting!
Pat your guitar playing is incredibly brilliant in this song I believe you could raise the dead and them get up and dance with your talent the drummer is exceptional his drums sound so smooth crisp and full great sound and Lyle is awesome .you have changed me from a Motown girl to a jazz woman . All of you are indescribly brilliant .love y'all
@@stevew5146 - I was in Portland Oregon on the First Circle album concert tour. I had seen bassist Rodby a year before. Pat said I hired a new drummer from Chicago, Paul Wertico. Good lord…he picked the best.
Saw Paul with Pat on earlier tours before this one. He was even better!!! More fiery and intense, longer solo. Playing tunes from First Circle and the tune Scrap Metal before they had titles! Astounding.
L'audio provient du CD "In Concert" édité en 1992. Ce concert a eu lieu au "Sommer Arena (Open Air)", lors du festival "JazzFest Wien", à Vienne (Autriche), le mardi 25 juin 1991.
The perfect intonation of Pedro Aznar is unvelievable......, PMG was a once in a lifetime event....

Great band line, no one ever be like this one!
Hell of a guitar solo; hell of a band.
One of the most gifted and talented guitarist I have ever seen in my almost 62 years on this earth. He is excellence defined.
Pat Metheny, Mr. Jazz, your music heals the soul.
The best fusion band of our time..Pat's improvisation never ceases to amaze..
Thanks for posting...great quality
Lyles accompaniment at 8:19…. Amazing….
These guys were so amazing! One of my favorite Metheny tunes... almost sounds like the version on "The Road To You" but not quite as good.
Lyle Mays 🎹 masterisimo 🙏
Pat and Pedro are the best
You hear this stuff and you just gotta' ask yourself: "Can these guys be from the SAME PLANET as the rest of us?!?!?!?!?"
No they’re not, unfortunately none of them want to come back!!

Best Pat Metheny solo !!! He was very inspired in this version... and the truly mind blowing rhythm section Wow !!! Thank you for posting
OMG!!! The True G.O.A.T.💜💜
Probably my favorite Metheny song. 3 killer melodies and 2 killer solos, what more can you ask for?!
Une Monstruositée................
Thank you so much for posting!!!
Pat you had to search the world over to find that drummer he is brilliant and Lyle is equally brilliant
That is Paul. Paul Wertico. Interestingly, Paul's last name rhymes with vertigo which is exactly what happens to me when I watch him play.
