    Tried High temp cement putty wrap clamps adapters. Has convinced me anything except weld will leak. Ebay has OEM fit parts my 20 year old truck for instance for 70$ beats trying to fit something together.

    I did that with the same jb weld and when it got hot the pipe came apart. I guna try welding what I can and then use the high heat jb weld to seal what I cant weld.

    To answer “Plastikpaintz’ question about how much would it cost to have an exhaust shop do this welded, I see signs up in shops that say they will not remove a cat or weld a pipe in unless they want to be shut down! The feds came to Quinlan years ago and removed these pipes from the local Western Auto.

    could i cut the muffler out, use clamps to connect a pipe from autozone and the existing pipe? so it would just be a muffler delete without the welding? or will that not be good long term

    • @PhillipsVision
      @PhillipsVision  3 роки тому

      Without being welded it will be loose and could pose problems. Without a muffler you will have a lot of noise and most likely get pulled over.

    Can you describe the removal/cleaning process when prepping for the actual weld?

    • @PhillipsVision
      @PhillipsVision  3 роки тому +2

      I use a steel brush to clean any surface of debris, then follow up with a hand-held grinder to expose the clean metal on both pieces where they will join.

    I’m wondering if you know the affects of the oxygen sensor not being on the cat and communicating with the vehicle? I do know it’ll run more rich and for longer but do you know of a bypass or if it’s just fine without one?

    • @PhillipsVision
      @PhillipsVision  3 роки тому +2

      The O2 sensors help the ECU know how much fuel to inject. Without it the ECU will calculate its default setting which can result in bad fuel economy and poor performance.

    Is the diameter measured on the inside, or the outside of the pipe?

    • @PhillipsVision

      Both. You have an inner diameter (I.D.) and outer diameter (O.D.). Both are spec’d on the pipe when you purchase them. You’ll want to match the inner on one and outer on the other when connecting them
