Very valid point on the towing capacity, shame to lose one of the Caravanners favourite tow vehicles. Least it’s sister car, the Sorento is still available in Diesel with a decent towing limit.
Hi Tish another fab review, ive always been a fan of the santa fe and had the pleasure of driving the previous model from san francisco to los angeles and it was a smooth relaxing and a pleasure to drive...this latest model wow,i agree with the back end not so good looking but i wish they made it as a split opening just like on range rover
Nice review - Agree 100% re lack of diesel for both towing capacity, torque and longevity over 225k kms one one of mine.. For A/NZ market especially I think this is going to be challenging but at least Kia Sorrento diesel still exists and others options like new Land Cruiser looks good.. They have already discounted some of these (pre order) in this market..
Nice car review there Tish ….. love the colour ….. seems like we’re getting the toe the line version of the engine while the Stars and Stripes get what they want ….. anywho ….. lovely. Car though 👏👏
Somewhat confused by the trim offering for the UK. Top of the range Calligraphy only has black interior and no sun roof (even as an option). Ultimate has 3 interior colour options but no UV compartment or the relaxation seat. Other countries appear to have more choice for the time being.
It looks beautiful but its so big! I've had 2 Tuscons and was hoping to move up to a Santa Fe but its too big for me alone so back to the drawing board
I like the olive green colour but its a bit boxy looking for my liking. That climbing on the wheel is accident waiting to happen and what if you are older and not as fit as you were to do that. I think a ladder would have been a better idea. Good review yet again Tish.
Really good review Tish, thank you. Very good looking vehicle and well appointed to make it great to travel in But think the towing capacity might hamper its sales instead of towing a family 6 berth you will be lucky to tow a 2 berth which negates the need for a 7 seater , shame.
As nice and practical as the car is, fact remains that the Calligraphy spec is over priced by at least £15-20k, target price should be around £30-35k not upwards of £50-55k! For a Hyundai that is madness! We must stand up to Manufacturers trying their luck and increasing prices just because it’s the UK!
Borrowing some ideas from the Defender i see. Lol right off the bat: the style. As mentioned definitely resembles the Defender in terms of its style, but everything else is where you'll see the difference. Love the LEDs at the front, but at the back the turn signals are too low. Idk why they took that route so I am gonna zonk that. Love the interior. Lots of storage, ambient lighting. But here's what boils my zonks. This is an expensive car. Why is there a manually operated panoramic sunroof? That should be power folding. Same with the steering wheel. Manually operated instead of power tilting and telescopic. DOUBLE ZONKS!! Other than that a very decent SUV. Nice review.
That’s a no from me expensive, can’t take the skin off custard or two anything which for me is what a vehicle of this type should be about. So agree with you on loss of diesel.
If it had a diesel, I would buy one tomorrow. Personally, I'm not buying any car with high density lithium-ion batteries installed. Because of their chemistry they are too unpredictable. Until new batteries come along that do not spontaneously combust at the slightest provocation I'll stay away.
Cool looking car. Though the rear is a bit questionable. However, those engine options are really bizarre. They don’t suit the car at all. Not sure what Hyundai is thinking with that.
What the hell, no Hyundai-logo on the steering wheel? otherwise nice car, but I can’t understand why there isn’t a Hyundai-logo on the steering wheel. 🙄🙄🙄
I'm afraid Tish as 2023 Santa Fe owner the stlying is not for me plus more money than the old one. Ioniq 5 for me next. well presented video as always :)
At first glance it has a range rover vibe no doubt it will steel sales from land rover & other brands in Its class. The rear design has a retro modern vibe which I like other opinions may differ but it's down to personal preference. That will fit it in well in America for the Walmart honkey tonk super sized humdingers "get er done" as they say. You can just see American police driving those eating their dunking donuts 🍩😂
Kinda funny as Korean cars become more brutal and squarer at the same time as their European rivals are just losing their identity into some decreased, unified, glamourized Chinese-like diet coke of a former car.
16:20 Great 👌😊 vehicle, great 👌😊 design loved it from the first time I saw it. The only problem is the rear lights which should have been placed higher up. Apart from that it's the perfect SUV and I would love to get one someday. Great review Tish and loving the sexy shorts look.❤😍👙💎.
I want to dislike this as I am not a fan of many modern cars especially the weird looking offerings from Kia and Hyundai but there is something about this I like.
Nice colour but so big, over 10seconds to 62 with one person 🤔? 1.6 just to small, three others and luggage is why you need a diesel less CO 2, this engine will be working hard !!, diesel which is excellent for this type of thing, parking bays lol, good luck, hope the shorts are a permanent fixture 😊
I am a potential buyer for this type of vehicle. However it would never be compared to a Defender. Which is a lifestyle vehicle with relatively modest boot and four seats. I need a car with a really big boot capacity and this would fill the bill. However you never stated what its electric only range is for the phev and its a modest 31 miles which in the real world will be less. Always ignore fuel consumption figures on PHEV vehicles as they are a nonsense. It assumes you always drive from home with a full battery which you didnt have to pay for the electricity and you only went a Short distance. Its competitiors which are more expensive are the Audi Q7 and Volvo XC90 and so it appears good value. The important thing though is second hand values and depreciation and that may prove its undoing with such a low towing capacity and poor performance compoared to the cars I have mentioned means that actually it is too expensive to compete and the real cost of ownership would be higher than these prestige models. I own a Volvo XC90 recharge and past owner of an Audi Q7.

The first Santa Fe that actually looks great. However, the rear looks like a Sangyong. But for me the 1.6ltr engine is simply too small. Towing might be a possibility but in reality you will be slaughtering the engine. If only I could afford the KIA EV9..!
Looked a good car until you showed us the rear end. Extraordinary design. Just wondered what they were thinking of. Like you said it does look like a range rover apart from the rear end. Keep the reviews coming Tish!
I will try to doublecheck this however looking online the plug-in hybrid four-wheel-drive is limited to 1100 kg and I can’t see the self charging hybrid being much more. But I could very much be wrong.
First look I thought oh know not for me ,but after watching your review it started to grow on us I like that colour the rear end is not good and I think it is under powered but I like there thinking behind the cabin and front of the vehicles,if i had to make a choice i would go for a Defender or a Range Rover that if money is not a consideration 😊
Seems a bit under powered for a car that big, my 5 seater suv hybrid has 243HP, this is not much more at 253 for the top spec, a bigger heavier car and 7 seater
Saw one in person on Monday. Sorry a total comedy. The only people that can afford it will be those that never had kids and will never need more than two seats. It is so fat and ungainly it truly needs to have council tax attributed to it.
Big, ugly, vulgar: precisely what is so utterly wrong with the vast majority of cars being churned out now...with no thought given to the effect on the environment.
But to simpletons this is a green option as it’s only available in virtue signalling hybrids that are under powered, not great MPG and take much more co2 to make and dispose of.
The rear design is an absolute turd, the rest looks really good. Mileage not great either, but if rear was good looking I could have somewhat considered. Prices are quite crazy high but that is widespread.
Took this for a test drive, love it, very quiet and refined. Very tempted. I'm thinking Hyundai more reliable than a Land Rover and cheaper.
Hi Tish. It’s an interesting evolution (the design language). Enjoy your reviews, thx 🙏🏼 🎉
My pleasure 😊 Thank you for watching!
I really like this new Santa Fe and an excellent review as always. Could this be our Tucson Hybrid replacement, that the question 😉
The New Santa Fe looks really cool and futuristic looks. Lots of space as well .Good detail video.
Defender-esque. Like it! Looking good Tish ❤
That car looks amazing. Nothing looks like it
Is the colour Ocado green ? - If so we can get this in NZ too - will be ordering one next year
The 2026 version will be perfect if the tail section is revised a bit more.
I really like that, interesting design
Very valid point on the towing capacity, shame to lose one of the Caravanners favourite tow vehicles. Least it’s sister car, the Sorento is still available in Diesel with a decent towing limit.
Nice rear end.Would love to get my hands on it.
Love your rural settings 👍
The mpg would have been interesting. Great review, though.
I would like to know, how long is this SUV. It looks like it is nit far of the Ford Explorer from the US Market. So around 4.8/ 4.9 metres?
Odd thing, I have an F-Pace and looking to get a Volvo next, but find myself watching Tish review some pretty diverse cars!

Raise the rear lights by a foot and it would be a nice looking car

Just saw this on Tish Does Travel and it actually does look good lol suppose it helps to be this big when your camping out in it 😀👍
The front looked so nice when they showed the back i started to cry 😢
Good, stay away…
Thanks for the review! This car is huge, it actually makes you look tiny when you're sat in the passenger seat 😊

Im guessing sales will be low due to the limited trailer towing capacity/engine options.
The rear of this car reminds me more of a gen 1 Renault Espace than it does a Defender.
Looks like my Land Rover from the back
The new Santa Fe makes the Defender 130 look like the Ford Flex.
It’s the opposite this looks like a Ford Flex but worse 😂 and underpowered
I want one
The Santa Fe that makes other cars look old-fashioned
This or the Škoda Kodiaq?
Nice colour.
I think so too!
So, only one engine to chose from, not two, but uses TWO different kinds of hybrid system. Can't be that difficult to comprehend can it?

I look forward to the facelift when Hyundai remember that a rear wiper is useful to have, just like they did with the Ioniq 5

So now, its a luxury tax vehicle with an underpowered engine. In America they understand transporting 7 people + luggage needs 300HP
I agree.
National Express manages to transport 60 people with luggage in an 18 ton vehicle with less than that.
Rear end needs a bumber. Looks as if someone has already driven into it.
A car that size needs a 3ltr or at least a 2.5ltr diesel for fuel economy and pulling power when fully loaded......
I clicked on the land rover review and got this
The first Santa Fe that actually looks great. However, the rear looks like a Sangyong.

The rear end is very Suzuki swift-ish from the early 2000s.
U are absolutely correct, I see it too.
I was going to order one but the rear end is horrendous 😭
The back looks like the new new Kona, another Hyundai that hasn't the best back end.
It’s a great update version it’s just a shame they have not included as more powerful petrol and a practical diesel engine in their line up
WTH Tish. What do you need 3 mobile phones for? Thats a bit crazy.

It's strange seeing this and calling it a Santa Fe. The box like shape reminds of the Land Cruiser. I am not a fan.
