- In today's video, Mom is going to show you how to make Dhalpuri Roti. This is best served with any types of curried or stewed meat or vegetable dishes or it can be eaten by itself.
Here's what you'll need:
FOR THE DOUGH:
7 1/2 cups of flour (some extra for rolling out)
2 tsps of salt
1 1/2 tablespoons baking powder
1 1/2 - 2 cups of water (enough to make a soft dough)
FOR THE DHAL/SPLIT PEAS:
2 lbs of split peas
2 teaspoons of salt
2 teaspoons of turmeric powder
5-8 cloves of garlic + 1 hot pepper to grind together with the dhal/split peas
2 teaspoons of salt (to taste)
2 teaspoons roasted ground geera
Some oil for cooking it on the tawa/ griddle.
This recipe yields 14-15 Dhalpuris (dependent on the size).
