Robert Plant is easily one of the greatest singers of all-time. Jimmy Page is a fantastic guitarist, John Paul Jones rocks the bass and keyboards like no body else's business, and John Bonham is the nastiest beast on drums, with a flare that swings like no one else can.
sometimes denigrated as a musician but I saw him last year and my god he is so clever in his mid 70s knowing what he is capable of(which to be honest is still way more than most of us are capable of) and still in a most musical way using his voice
This concert Plant started to loose The power in his voice.. 74 he would have throat surgery.. and never the same again.. to hear the row power in Plants voice listen to the Album version.. plants voice is simply aww striking amazing.

I've been lucky to see it all live from the Beatles to the Stones to Pink Floyd to Hendrix to Cream; Led Zep is the GOAT "rock band". Some things you can't compare. They all hold their own pinnacle in a diff way.
There's still great musicians making great music. You just have to look a little harder than before. That's thanks to the suits that only care about easy money.

Can you imagine being able to perform this way after already being on stage for 2 hours. They were pros! Their concerts were always several hours long and there were no breaks. There was no dancers to eat up time. There were no costume changes either. You can hear the toll that this evening took on Robert's voice in "Stairway to Heaven" which was performed at the end of the concert since that was the one everybody was waiting for. An interesting side note is that the money they were supposed to get from the box office for this concert was stolen. No body ever was charged for it, although their manager always believed it was the guy who managed the ticket counters at MSG! I believe they lost around $200,000 dollars, a rather large sum of money in 1973. Love You Jayy!!!!!!!! I enjoy you so much!!!!!!!!
Just to clear up a mistake, this song was performed early in the show, JPJ still has his jacket on, and "Stairway" was perhaps 6 or 7 songs in. "Whole Lotta Love" closed out the show, which was common until Kashmir came along. I encourage you to check out any of those songs from this performance along with "The Rain Song" and "Dazed and Confused." Each one highlights the extraordinary talent and versatility of this incredible band. One of the greatest live performances ever.
Went to see them in 1976 at Tampa Stadium, but a storm broke out over the stadium and rioting started...(we were walking in a bit into the first song, but before we made in they shut down all the lights and it was crazy...almost got crushed in the packed hallway leading to the inside of the stadium.) We were so bummed out! At least I got to see the 'UnLedded' tour at the Miami Arena in '95 and then was lucky enough to see Jimmy Page in Raleigh, NC in 2000 with, 'The Black Crows' -lotta Zep tunes and Jimmy was in rare form -just awesome!

Back in the 70s when VCRs first hit the market. I bought this concert/movie. It cost a little under$100 but was worth it. I still have it on tape, DVD, Blu-Ray and downloaded to my external hard drive. I took my girlfriend to see this at movie theater in 1978. My ALL TIME favorite band and favorite concert movie
When you finally do Dazed And Confused from this concert...28 minutes of Jimmy murdering the guitar! He even plays it with a cello bow! You will never see anything else like it!!

They played this during their concert at Arizona State University in 1973. It was the second time I'd seen Led Zeppelin . The first was in 1969 in Pasadena, Calif.

I wish I was born just a couple of years earlier. I grew up in the 70s, but was only 13 in 1970. I never got the chance to see Led Zeppelin live!! I lived on Eastern Long Island and never went to Madison Square Garden. I used to go to Nassau Colliseum and the Calderone back then.

I wish I was born just a couple of years earlier. I grew up in the 70s, but was only 13 in 1970. I never got the chance to see Led Zeppelin live!! I lived on Eastern Long Island and never went to Madison Square Garden. I used to go to Nassau Colliseum and the Calderone back then.
There are so many great performances here that you should check out. No Quarter, Song Remains The Same/ Rain Song, Stairway , Whole Lotta Love. ✌
