I decided on the X3. I used go pros and other action cameras before. My consideration is to capture the entire experience and have the ability to refocus. The amount of time to shoot and reshoot for different POV goes away for the X3. :)
Insta360 go3 for me is one of the best camera releases in years. In my opinion it makes all other action cams obsolete. Do not shoot 4k but the versatility and fun you can get with this camera outstand video quality. I also have the new Dji Pocket 3 in my arsenal but the go 3 is the camera I use most. The size, the magnetics and easy of use makes me record more my family. 2.7k is perfect for UA-cam and social media, the majority of people only consume media in their small screen of their phone, you don’t need 4k for this. I’ll update for every go cameras from insta360 now on.
I also have a Go3 but found myself trying to compromise with its quality especially under dim light (sometimes even daytime indoors). Can you share your settings for indoor shooting if any?
The selfie stick is always visible in the shadows which seems to be cast in most videos I have seen of the X3 which is very annoying. Also the use of the selfie stick seems to be a must for the X3 and even though you don’t see it in the videos, the position of the person holding the stick looks weird
Thank you! In the shot of the skier at 9:23, how was the X3 mounted there? Clearly not a selfie stick, how does one produce these cool over-the-back shots with the X3?
Great comparison review. I wasn't looking for an action camera but found the review interesting and informative. Now considering the ace pro with a gimbal.
Between the Osmo Pocket 3 and the new Ace Pro... which do you think has the best outdoor video quality in the day light? Which do you think handles HDR better to capture beautiful sunsets and landscapes?
the image quality in daylight or low light in considerably superior with the Pocket 3 due to its sensor, its ability to generate smooth bokeh, and its far superior ability to record 10 bit in LOG for true color grading.
9:35 The X3 probably uses gyro sensor data for stabilization. So wouldn't that be the case with Ace Pro? My hypothesis is that the Ace Pro is in HDR mode and needs 3 photos to make one frame, so the gyro sensor data are not available.
If you wanna walk around town, interview people on the go, or do short monologues as an actor in all kinds of environments and later add in b-roll shots of the environment.. which model is really the best? I do not want a constant fish-eye look if I want to do monologues and acting, or sit down and talk to the camera for vlogging.. but I like the idea I can connect it directly to my body or bike or walk around with a camera in a demonstration or cultural event and ask people what they think of things and so make social media content. what camera should I use? Thanks to anyone who can advise me to someone who really tried realistic acting in front of a camera like these where you got no help, no film crew that can film you but must do it all yourself...
I have a client looking for a 180-degree video experience to view in a VR headset. We would be capturing storyboarded scenes, so the ability to capture a full 360 image and select the framing later isn't the top priority. Image quality is. Is the Ace Pro capable of capturing 180-degree video for a VR headset experience? Or do I need to go with the X3?
I'm still deciding which one is good for helmet mounts. I do line work and army field exercises. I'm leaning on the ace pro as it was mentioned good for beginners.
certainly a good choice - especially on a helmet, the GO 3 would also be pleasant because it is very light and you can use the Actionpod like a remote control with display - but you have to compromise on image quality.
I’ve been looking at all three of these as a choice for filming my metal detecting hobby. I have narrowed it to the Ace Pro or Go 3S. I am wondering if the Go 3S may be a good choice with its versatility of mounting.
I do not understand why you are recording at 25fps. Don't you see the judder at the edges of the image when the canera is moving or panning? I see it very well, and I find it disturbing, albeit I am using a laptop with a quickly reacting OLED screen. 25 or 50fps do not blend in well with a typical 60Hz screen. That's why most people are using 30 or even better 60fps.
yes, good question - I started with it at the beginning because I wanted to create a cinematic look - even if I have to admit that it's less useful when creating action camera videos. However, I live in Europe and 30 fps could lead to flickering problems in artificial light, e.g. when shooting at night for low light tests - I would have to test whether this is still a problem in practice. 60fps is rather out of the question - my main camera produces a strong crop in 4K60...
I bought a BOYA BY-V20 Wireless Microphone but unfortunately, it is not compatible with the Insta360 Ace Pro. Could you recommend a few wireless mic options for this action cam? Thank you. An issue I'm having: I used a lavelier mic & connected to the Ace Pro tru the Mic adaptor. The recorded audio is left channel only. Did I do something wrong?
Here’s a tip that I’ve been sharing with others. On the Pocket 3 try shooting in HLG. Then when you transfer the video to your iPhone you get lovely HDR footage. Might also work on the Action 4 but I don’t have that (I have the GoPro 12 instead).

@@MountMediaChannel I haven't seen a review of of these action cameras under water, much less sea water. My position is that GoPro is still the ultimate action camera. It maybe rough butu hey, that is the point.
Thanks so much for the great video! I have that holy trinity (except my oneX is v2). There is one MUST HAVE upgrade for the next version of each of these. They NEED a receiverless wireless mic solution like the AMAZING DJI MIC2 On the Pocket 3. In 2024 that kind of wireless mic with internal 32bit float audio and NO NEED fOR RECEIVER will be a MUST HAVE. As we all know, the MOST important part of good video is GOOD AUDIO. DJi Has solved that problem and there is no going back. So I will ALWAYS use the Pocket 3 first IF it is in my pocket. Yes, you're right - that's a huge advantage. But they probably have to make their own microphone first. Personally, I do more action shots and less vlogging - so the mic is not so important for me.

It's all talk and no real testing in action conditions. I got mine yesterday and three main things I experienced while running with it live, the battery doesn't last as long as they claim *that overheating is real * and stabilization is poor. I will return mine as it is worse than my GoPro 11 black.
Hyperbole much? The reviews I’ve seen show the Ace Pro side by side the GoPro 12 and the Action 4. I don’t know how you would call this a lie. I’m seeing it with my own eyes. I’ve used the Insta360 x3 for over a year and love it. I would seriously consider the Ace Pro if I were in the market for an action camera. Right now, I’m holding out for the release of the x4.
It’s a little disingenuous to say the image quality “sucks” because it doesn’t. The image quality is very good for all three cameras. I do agree, however, that they should make the lens covers removable by the consumer.

And no one is his right mind will use Go3 under the sea current. That tiny thing will not only get lost with the current but nothing in its face assures "water proof". My position is that GoPro is still the ultimate action camera. It maybe rough butu hey, that is the point.
@@stewartstewartstewart not really.. GoPro can do 10m... for deep sea diving, of course you need a case
BUT I will use the Insta trinity a lot because INSANELY IRONICALLY they all fit in my pocket better than the DJI Pocket 3. What are YOUR thoughts on the 2024 for a DJI Mic 2 solution for the Insta360 trinity ? - Eric ZORK Alan & Sweetie [ Professional Poets & Bed 🛏️ & Beer🍺 Vloggers ]
Yes, you're right - that's a huge advantage. But they probably have to make their own microphone first. Personally, I do more action shots and less vlogging - so the mic is not so important for me.
and as of a firmware update yesterday the DJI Mic 2 now works wirelessly with the DJI Action 4!
@@canyonblue737-8 I saw this last night. I am sooooo happy. And soooooo sad. So sad because I JUST bought Insta360 Ace Pro and can’t return. Also sad DJI is not yet selling the Mic2 separately or in Action 4 bundle. But, when they do, I guess I spend another $500+ and buy a combo and use the ACE Pro as my D camera 🎥 (4th angle ) after Pocket 3, Action 4 and One X2.

Great video, loved the recommendation at the end of the video. For future reference, allow me to have a tl;dr

GO 3 | Budget-minded | | Robust | Helmet Mount

Most reviews are lying in the reviews they review in their aircon office and praise the flip-up screen and big sensor...All who lied should be investigated and pointed out as liars. It's all talk and no real testing in action conditions. I got mine yesterday and three main things I experienced while running with it live, the battery doesn't last as long as they claim *that overheating is real * and stabilization is poor. I will return mine as it is worse than my GoPro 11 black.
Which one are you talking about? Go3, x3 or ace pro?
Hyperbole much? The reviews I’ve seen show the Ace Pro side by side the GoPro 12 and the Action 4. I don’t know how you would call this a lie. I’m seeing it with my own eyes. I’ve used the Insta360 x3 for over a year and love it. I would seriously consider the Ace Pro if I were in the market for an action camera. Right now, I’m holding out for the release of the x4.
INSTA 360 IMAGE SUCK, NO PROPER LENS PROTECTION, EASY TO SCRATCH, AND THEY DIDN'T LISTEN TO CUSTOMER😅
That's why I have been waiting for x4 to see what changes they bring. As of now I think dji action 4 is better of all.
It’s a little disingenuous to say the image quality “sucks” because it doesn’t. The image quality is very good for all three cameras. I do agree, however, that they should make the lens covers removable by the consumer.
