@ 1:47 -i just got my camera yesterday. It is firmware updated. Do you know if they changed something since you posted this video. I don't see "Video sharpness" -i have found it listed in the video menu on the sidebar.
For sure its videography and its features are outstanding!! But i wanna know hows the quality of photos it capture?? How would you rate its photography compared to iphone 15 pro or any beginner level dslr/compact camera? Really wanna know before buying..
Yes, I’d like to know photo quality also. How does this camera compare to the iPhone 15 Pro Max I currently have? My wife and I spent last weekend in the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon riding the Pine Creek Trail. The scenery was fantastic. I was using my iPhone 15 Pro for navigation. I’m looking for a decent camera I can mount to my bicycle handle bars and automatically capture a picture every, let’s say 15-30 seconds or so. I plan on dumping probably 90% of them afterwards after tagging them as duds. Would I be better off with the Ace Pro 2 or the X4 for this task? Being able to select a particular view from a 360* sphere is intriguing, flatten it and create a picture sounds kinda slick. However, the process sounds a bit cumbersome but are the results worth the effort? Thanks for any feedback.
What is your tip regarding the indoor low light video setting and performance of the ace pro? Eg for family gathering in the evening indoors..... Any setting preferred?
Hi. You are not the first one to bring up "putting video sharpness lower", but you are one of the very few that actually explains it so thank yiu for that. I still have a question though. Does the sharpness affect how clear (not blurry) objects are in the videos? For example, if I put sharpness to low, wouldnt the video look blurry then? Or is the sharpness only referring to color contrast? I dont know anything about these cameras, it just feels counter intuitive to lower sharpness setting. Not a trick question, just curious how that works. Im an owner of the Ace Pro, using it to produce vacation Vlog as a small family, so movement will be involved but not quick action. I just want clean and non blurry footage for the family, 4K footage that actually looks "kinda 4K", you know what I mean.
For some reason insta360 always set their cameras to high sharpness by default yet they actually say that the images are better with a lower sharpness level. The high sharpness does literally sharpen the image but gives it a hard edge unnatural look. Yes you’re right that a low sharpness could make images appear blurry, so try a medium setting first to see if you’re happy with the results. You’ll notice more blur if you zoom in on your subject so the wider you are the more forgiving the shot is. It may be you prefer the sharper more digital looking image and that’s also fine - there’s no right or wrong as such. Hope this helps and thanks for the comment.
I am on firmware 1.0.62 and I do not have the sharpness setting in settings under any video mode. perhaps you like to share with us what firmware version you are using.
If it’s inside the lens Contact insta360 as this shouldn’t happen. If it’s on the outside then this is because you are moving from different temperatures too quickly (hot to cold etc). So you have to let the camera acclimatise especially if you are filming in the cold and the camera was previously hot. Even with pro cameras if filming in the snow we had to leave the cameras outside to avoid this happening.
Question - I edit using the insta app on my cell phone currently using an X2. If I had an ace pro can I combine the footage of both cameras using the app. Great informative videos👍
I love mine! I hope they don’t bring a new one out soon though, my first action type cam broke the bank! 😂 Saw some guy having issues getting the memory card door back on and returned it saying it was a ‘fatal flaw’. I can’t think how he missed the push/slide thing, unless his didn’t come with one but honestly can’t see how that would be possible! Great vid, gonna watch again for info I may have missed. 🙏👍🙌
@@BassManStrikeshe tore strips off me for asking him about it. Then deleted all the comments. It was a bit weird accused me of working for insta360!! 😂 I don’t, I’m a painter & decorator!! 😂
If we install the camera to the vehicle, we can take the right and left side by giving the command to the outside CAM to the GPS PREVIEW Remote from the car?
Is there a way to move to a different screen location or get rid of the "Zoom" button? it has ruined several videos now while using the Ace Pro in a chest mount.

Good Evening I would like to ask if there is an absolutely specialized dome for the insta360 ace pro I don't want something that is also for mobile or something else, but only for the specific camera thank you very much Nikolas
Also might want to mention that if you're going to Vlog with this camera and frame yourself closeup, it's a good idea to use a diopter as the image will tend to be blurry otherwise.
Yes this can be a problem. It would be good if insta created a close up filter or an adapter to hold one with a screw thread. You can 3d print a holder though which is good. Thanks for the comment
Open the app and click on settings at the bottom and the scroll down and you’ll see watermark “shot on” or something similar and you can turn it off there 👍
Good video. Really wish they would have made a magnetic locking mount like the Osmo Action….already dropped this thing because of the poor mount. Also, can’t believe how hot it gets indoors when shooting 4K 30fps…..I assume overheating will be a problem with long recordings when Summer hits again. Horizon lock standard would also be nice. Last, would love to see 10 bit with log for grading. The battery life on this thing isn’t great when the flippy screen is enabled. If you use the phone app that disables the screen your battery life goes from 60 minutes of continuous 4K recording to about 90 minutes of continuous 4k recording. Love that long recordings are 1 large file instead of split up like GoPro/DJI. Love that 8k is available. Good attempt but a lot to be desired with the ace pro. Let’s see how DJI and GoPro counter next fall.
What’s the difference of bitrates between the standard and high mode? With the Ace Pro, I bought also Sandisk extreme pro V30 like yours, but the higher writing bitrate is 140Mb/s (200Mb/s is the reading) and I’m reading in the website of Insta360 that the maximum bitrate of the ace pro is 170Mb/s. I’m ignorant, but I can guess that with that memory card I can never record with the maximum bitrate, isn’t it?
Well.. I’m actually very ignorant on this. I just figured out that the v30 means that can record videos in 30MB/s that means 240Mb/s. I didn’t so understand what’s the writing speed..
170 is the max, it depends on scene complexity. I always used medium bit rate and I could not tell any difference after uploading to UA-cam etc. With a 256gb card on medium on the Ace I get a bit over 8 hours and almost 6 hours at high bit rate. It's good they have the option, dji does not and it kind of sucks.
The V30 means that in theory the card is able to WRITE at 30 MBps (megabytes. Which are around 240 Mbps (megabit)) minimum sequentially. I have a similar card and over a USB 3.x reader it manages around 70 MBps write and around 110 MBps read (sequentially). The best cards to get are 256 GB V30 A2 (it means good performance sequentially and also with small blocks), they are very cheap these days…

What is your tip regarding the indoor low light video setting and performance of the ace pro? Eg for family gathering in the evening indoors..... Any setting preferred?
I would use pure video mode, 4k, 30 or 60 frames per second and auto mode. 60 frames then allows you to slow some moments down which can look nice.
Excellent information. Thank you.

Why don't I see a 8K resolution option. Only up to 4K 60 fps. That is odd..
Not all modes support 8k so if the mode you are in isn’t supported or the frame rate is too high then you won’t see 8k as an option
