This was a good way to earn extra money. We also had night shifts to keep 24 hours of maintenance going.

I believe, once you pass your flight physical, and due time as a crew chief, and start flying, you'll earn Aviator wings. That's how I got my wings in the Air Force flying on the C-17.
How would this work if you're in the National Guard or Reserves where you drill once per month/2 week summer? I'm in College and am looking between this and 68W
I will say, you don’t have your A&P as a 15T. It’s the whole reason I’m watching this video.. I work for a company that hires 15T’s starting at $30 an hour so there’s that..
You have the opportunity to test out. You’d have to bring your maintenance hours and some other stuff to the FAA take a written test and I believe a practical test. I’d definitely recommend taking a A&P course though. Theirs lots about engines we don’t know about that’s why theirs a separate mos for it. You wouldn’t necessarily have to take a full part 147 course. A lot of schools that offer part 147 have 2-3 month courses for military aviation personnel to get them up to speed on stuff they’ve never messed with.
Just study for the MM score (Auto and Shop Information, Electronics Information, and Mechanical Comprehension). Obviously still do well on your AFQT because you need it to qualify for the Military and also your GT score. I've never worked in a shop or really done any of that type of work and still got over the MM score needed after studying for about a month (MM score of 104 is needed).
Never gonna know unless you go take that test....Study study study, sleep well, eat a good breakfast, take that test and knock it out of the park man!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!
Basic most go to fort Jackson in SC but you could go to all the Basic training areas Ft Leonard in Missouri or fort Benning in Georgia where the 11 bang bang go to (grunts) or Fort Sill in OK.but, for AIT where you learn to be helicopter maintainer everybody goes to Fort Eustis Virginia it does not matter what 15 series you are. T, U, R ETC...
Just do it. You'll have a better life. I would recommend 15u tho because there's more opportunities. And if you really wanna do cool shit. Join 160th those guys are bad ass
As long as u score 40 or above and do well in the Auto & shop, Mechanical knowledge and i thino math, you'll qualify for it. Your MM score has to be above 104! I just took mine and my MM was like 160 so most likely i'll be going for this MOS

Great info thank you
Does anyone know anything about a 68 Romeo I have yet to find anything on this job but it sounds awesome
What I think I know is that you can be stationed any army, navy, and marine base and your job is to go around and check food to see if it is still good and properly stored
@@danielramirez3540 so like a health inspector
Oh , n back in late 90s early 20 , the mos was swamped with infantry sgt's , wanting to be crew chiefs , real crew chiefs were locked in there ranks with no opposition's other to go back to school.
But with high deployment that wasn't n option
Thought y’all was brothers bro😂
I’m switching to 15 series just for 160th
Hey so I’m 19 and thinking about being a 91f. How is it being a black man in the army. I’ve heard good and terrible for us
Never had any bad things happen to me because I’m black, more often than not you hear more about the bad things compared to the good things
What would you say is better 15T or 15R?
Thinking about reclass from 91b to 15T
How is 91b thinking on both of these so I don’t know which one to choose
Are you awarded Aviation badges?
Yes
I believe, once you pass your flight physical, and due time as a crew chief, and start flying, you'll earn Aviator wings. That's how I got my wings in the Air Force flying on the C-17.
I was an instructor at Eustis... so... ya... RETRAINING
How would this work if you're in the National Guard or Reserves where you drill once per month/2 week summer? I'm in College and am looking between this and 68W
I'm going to basic at the end of this month so I'll figure it out.
@@merma9042 Yk which training depot?
I was a 67tf3q2. Got out in 99
I will say, you don’t have your A&P as a 15T. It’s the whole reason I’m watching this video.. I work for a company that hires 15T’s starting at $30 an hour so there’s that..
What is a 32B?
Y’all know anything about 15Q
Do 35S Next 💯
u just sign up for 35s?
Night Stalkers aren't special forces they're Special Operations.
This is the mos I want!!!
Also who works on the little birds ???
Most Aviation Brigades only have Blackhawks, Chinooks, and Apaches.
Little birds are for Special Forces
You’d have to go get into the 160th and they pull 15r’s to work on little birds along with some 15t’s I think? The 15r’s are Apache repairers.
Can reservist/guard 15T get their A&P?
You have the opportunity to test out. You’d have to bring your maintenance hours and some other stuff to the FAA take a written test and I believe a practical test. I’d definitely recommend taking a A&P course though. Theirs lots about engines we don’t know about that’s why theirs a separate mos for it. You wouldn’t necessarily have to take a full part 147 course. A lot of schools that offer part 147 have 2-3 month courses for military aviation personnel to get them up to speed on stuff they’ve never messed with.
Man I wanna do this but i’m scared of not scoring high enough on my asvab
Just study for the MM score (Auto and Shop Information, Electronics Information, and Mechanical Comprehension). Obviously still do well on your AFQT because you need it to qualify for the Military and also your GT score. I've never worked in a shop or really done any of that type of work and still got over the MM score needed after studying for about a month (MM score of 104 is needed).
Never gonna know unless you go take that test....Study study study, sleep well, eat a good breakfast, take that test and knock it out of the park man!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!
Where do you go to basic for 15 Tango
Basic most go to fort Jackson in SC but you could go to all the Basic training areas Ft Leonard in Missouri or fort Benning in Georgia where the 11 bang bang go to (grunts) or Fort Sill in OK.but, for AIT where you learn to be helicopter maintainer everybody goes to Fort Eustis Virginia it does not matter what 15 series you are. T, U, R ETC...
Any advise for a 91b trying to reclass to a 15t.
Just do it. You'll have a better life. I would recommend 15u tho because there's more opportunities. And if you really wanna do cool shit. Join 160th those guys are bad ass
@@5Aug23 I've seen the 160th guys here at fort campbell
I wanted to be 91b which one should I choose based on your experience
@@isaiahbrinson3197 Yeah that's where they train
@@Seekbetter1J 15 series all the way
What score on the ASVAB do you have to make to become a 15t Black hawk maintainer
you need a 104 on the mechanical section
As long as u score 40 or above and do well in the Auto & shop, Mechanical knowledge and i thino math, you'll qualify for it. Your MM score has to be above 104! I just took mine and my MM was like 160 so most likely i'll be going for this MOS
Can you Interview a 15B please? And thank you! 🙏🏽
We’re the best! That’s all you need to know lol
@@Moheezy was looking at this mos, off the top of your head what would you say is different than 15 T
Who want's to be a crew chief on an Apache? They don't fly.
Mane I’m shipping out in abt 2 week my mos is 15U chinook
