I decided to try out this build and made a few adjustments to it (mostly just swapping around different core, head, and arm pieces) and holy smokes is it fun. Absolutely melts enemy ACs and is surprisingly effective against a certain C-Weapon in the 4th chapter.
FYI something like a quad 10 cell missile build can counter this kinda build with a high range FCS because you can out range it, the reason why this build is so busted right now is because everyone is playing so aggressive and trying to get close which is exactly where dual pistol users want you to be.
I was watching your stream yesterday where you pulled out the cowboy build and I made a makeshift version of it that helped me beat the chapter 4 last boss and I was a lot closer to this than I anticipated super good against acs

Thanks again Cowboy, you're always a major help and I don't think I would have been able to get into the SoulsBorne games and enjoyed them as much and god only knows if i would have taken the chance on games like Nioh and Salt and Sacrifice so as always thanks.
This game is a amazing return to form for from software with AC i couldn't be happier i was a huge AC fan as a kid i didn't do many hours in AC as a teen on ps2 i played nothing but AC and Gran Turismo 2 I've been waiting forever for another AC. All from software games in the past couple years have been straight bangers my absolute favorite game studio by far it's then and turn10 they are so good at what they do i love a challenging game that forces you to think adapt and overcome hopefully there's more to come in the near future ill be binging through game till forza 8 comes out October 10th
Imo there's actually balance in this build. You are sacrificing two ENTIRE weapon slots to capitalize on a stagger that may never come. It's just that you NEED to respect this build because if you do stagger against it, you just die. And that's the big separating line. One of the main qualities a player of any game needs to evolve past to stop being a noob is to start respecting certain things regardless of their pride. I personally don't see the gameplay of AC6 pvp ever being casual, it will always be competitive. Which in this case is a good thing, because it just fits imo.
@@difficult_aardvark Mate, twin shotties are strong in PvE/PvP. Make sure you use the close quarter FCS, time your shots and you will stagger bosses and players alike. They aren't a joke.

Super excited for this game. I haven't played armored core years. I loved for answer. The Gundam Wing builds will make a return. One of my all time favorite animes next to yuyu Hakisho. I think it's too early to tell what exactly is overpowered. There counters to everything in from games some of the counters just haven't been found yet
I went for a heavily armored version: 10-Cell Missile launchers on both ahoulders with 4-cell missile launchers on both hands. Tian Qiang core, Tian lao arms, Verill tetra legs and Verill head. FCS is the one with 132/120 missile lock/multi-lock correction, with Santai Generator and Gills booster. Also weight control OS is mandatory. This thing wipes out entire mobs of MTs 200+m in the air and enemy ACs get staggered quite often while their shots ricochet off me. And with 4200 EN you're basically a flying spider warship.
The theme I'm seeing in all your build guides is that you generally want a big hitter that you're trying to enable in your build. Looking forward to see your reverse joint build because I have the most fun on the bouncy lightweight bois, but I just don't feel like I'm contributing damage in PVP.
I mean, it does seem to be what the game is pushing for, considering the nature of direct hits. You want at least one solid Direct Hit weapon on every build, you'd be foolish not to
Cowboy, could you see this build being countered by a fast and light melee build that focuses on delivering very high stagger and DPS against slower tetras that can't get away? Particularly with terminal armor to ensure 1v1 outlasting. My understanding of the status is that the shoulder guns don't get your firearms specialization, so someone maximizing their angular velocity to you up close won't get a lot of risk, and melee reverse joints can stay in the air basically forever.
Up close is exactly where I want you for my pistols though. Best way to counter this build is to stay far enough that I can't hit the pistol shots and thus don't have an opportunity for direct damage

@@FightinCowboy Also seen quite a few reverse joint/light biped shotgun melee builds, might be fun with dual missiles or active homing missiles to apply pressure but not a lot of people pair those missiles them with their melee builds
I haven't even watched the video yet, and I can already tell that the stagger damage is gonna be ridiculous by the double stun needles. I use the wheelchair tank legs + laser lance + double stun needles and it is just RUDE. Tip: If you stagger someone with a double stun needle shot, then by the time the laser lance charge attack is done, the needles will be reloaded. So you can hit 'em again.
Hey Fightin’ Cowboy, how would you rate the performance of Handguns in Rubicon compared to AC5 and AC4? I’ve never had much luck with them in previous titles
I have seen alot of people hating on the graphics for this game i think it looks fine and it performs incredibly well on pc i get 120fps at 4K with a rtx3080 and AMD R5 5600x a decent pc with a beefy graphics card but not mind bending like a4090 but it's on par with a 4070Ti anyway I'm happy with high fps as opposed to UE5 and seeing the ingrown hairs and black heads on a NPC's bum cheeks
The stun needle launcher i swear is broken cause when ever I encountered a hard boss that back weapon stun locks em and also does electrical damage and does insane damage. It is what i used too do all three endings
I ran into this today. I countered it by running away. The handguns really lose the effectiveness by range. I do run a lightweight jumper with energy weapons. EDIT: I would like to add it is actually very hard to run away in certain maps.
Ah I see, I fought one of these last night, and all the guy did was hover at the top of the map, my new strat against it is to not engage and run out the clock for a draw, those stun needles need a nerf

Dude I just unlock the second stinger and let me tell ya.. this build fucks shit up if you pmay it just like cowboy did all up in there face trust the duckkets and like dude the moments the stagger hit in fling blast those stingers and so much damage its like "Muah !! Good damage "
Well in case of the cowboy blasting staggered guns doesn't get used for evil purposes like one of those toxic players or haters abusing the power of it yeah that will get nerfed but as long as everyone's not using it too much it will stay just as the same probably not get nervous at all we may never know I mean it depends on the community after all
Anyone know if OS points carry over when you change builds. Example, if I have a build that I put OS points into energy, and I change to a build with kinetic damage where I have different OS points will they change ?
Over the past few days ive encountered more and more players using this build/strat. Enjoy playing against those not using the meta, now ill have to create a long range build to counter this or be forced to make my own meta build to counter this... Which doesn't sound fun.
This game still need alot of adjustment, some weapons is clearly better than others. Also i think the impact damage need to tone down at least 50% or more. Stagger happens too fast especially those explosive weapons that can stagger you with 1 or 2 hit and it's deal MASSIVE DAMAGE too.
@@thatdude9096 that's true but still i think the reward are a little bit too high though. Maybe lowering some weapons impact damage like 10% might just made them perfect in my opinion.

It's not particularly OP, if you let a quad stay in the air that's on you. This could've been a missile boat and it would've been just as effective if the quad is allowed to dominate the sky with no punish.
Because you have to do 3 full playthroughs to unlock eveything. End of Ch3 first playthrough is like being 1/2 way through low rank in monster hunter, you've done nothing at that point.

Not really. The guns have quite a low reload time so you can use them at start and finish.
The needles aren't just for capitalising on staggers - they do AOE damage and cause lots of stagger themselves

great build. as mentioned tetras are great with the needle, even if you miss sometimes you catch them with the aoe if your shooting from above.

I've been running something fairly similar, but using the spring chicken legs, and linear rifles for some longer range

high mobility melee build that can sit outside its range, dash in and do a heap of damage and dash back out, could be good.
otherwise, probably just anything that comfortably outranges it (plasma cannons, missile-focused long range tetras)

Easiest counter is just staying out of pistol range which is pretty short.
