I have the GM “Jake” nano filter and air box. I think it’s the filter, more than the airbox. Also the ZO6 doesn’t have the bellows going into the throttle body.
I installed one on my '18 Z51. yeah, the fit could be better. not the hardest task I've ever had to accomplish on a vehicle, but for something which will need regular replacement (remove/install) ... this thing could have fit a little better, especially given the housing is plastic. I was cautious about breaking the tabs/slots on the housing. Also, GM's process for accessing the filter. Really? My F350 w/ 6.7 PSD, also mounted on the same fender for cold air ... 4 spring clips pops out VERY easy. No muss no fuss. That PSD moves FAR more air than the LT1. gutsy move using a drill on these screws (at least to install) ... given it is plastic into which they are being turned. Ima old school 1/4 drive ratchet guy (on a new car, I know) I haven't tracked it since the filter install, but the wash/wear appealed to me, too. Nice vid. Thanks!
scott barker thank you! With naturally aspirated engines, air filters and CAI’s can only improve power so much, so we wouldn’t expect too much difference between this filter or an aftermarket CAI.
Your having too much fun but I had as much fun watching the video spending a lot less money 😉 the instruction segment is excellent keep them coming. Oh btw....... the automatic would had produced slightly better times. 😉😉😉😉 Great job.👍👍
Yeah this is deff not a fair or accurate comparison. Being with all that hp, combine that with street tires, and being a manual at that! Yeah too many factors involve to make a accurate comparison.
Just a question,,,,why in God's green earth do you heat up street tires? That just makes them less effective for your launch! Drag radials that is a whole different story!
Fitment is terrible. Great filter but you wind up jacking up the housing fighting to squeeze the sucker in. On the other hand the BMS goes in no trouble and breaths better. And if you put 4,000 miles a year on your car you most definitely don't have to change out your filter every year.
Your filter change does not make any sense based on your cars ability...your car with drag radials will or should run mid 11s ...then do the filter change and we will see if the blue filter will make a true difference... flawed test IMHO..sorry.
Just picked up a 2018 grand sport and was just looking into this filter.... perfect timing....yess🙌
Just picked up a 17 z06 and I think this is going to be my first mod! Thanks for the video and review. Oh we'll have to meet up at next spring.🤝🏼

i enjoyed your vid...would a new cold air intake do more?

Real Corvettes have manual transmissions! Nice GS by the way.
Nice video NO BS just good content and interesting observations
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!
I'd like to see a video of stock running then a run with the afe cold air intake
@@13salinaspride we’ll see what we can arrange!
@@SonsofSpeed that would be cool. A lot of people say they gain horse power, some say it’s a waste of money. So gets my mind wondering 💰
Good stuff dudes!
Thank you!
Cool stuff
Would love to know the cameras used inside and out. Excellent videos!
Thanks! We use Sony and GoPro.
@@SonsofSpeed any particular model? I'm assuming the gopro is mounted outside (how? As corvette's aren't magnetic).
Very good video like it

Yes, it most certainly would have. Clearly we're better at road racing than drag racing, but it's still fun!
.2 quicker in 60' so that's about 4 tenths or more in quarter. Tbh the air filter may have made it a little slow. Or equal
do you have a line lock
Not at all, that’s an old school burnout!
Not sure the filter made a .200 pick up on the 60'. That seems excessive.

couldn't find BMS for LS3
You ran .6 mph faster. That is more telling than the ET. So you gained about 6 hp.
Julio H yep, that’s exactly what we would estimate the gain to be.

Nice video but... 4.2 0-60 in a Z06! You need to learn to launch that car!
It’s a Grand Sport, not a Z06... 460hp vs 650hp
You need to listen better.
It's not a Z06. it's a Grand Sport
