Happy Birthday Clarence, I have not long fitted one of the better air intakes BMC CDA CARBON DYNAMIC AIRBOX, tho good thing about these BMC started after they were asked to make F1 air filters from the Ferrari Team. BMC air filters have equipped some of the most important Teams in F1 and American Le Mans Series like Ferrari, Toyota, Williams BMW, Prost, Sauber, Minardi, Porsche and Audi so you know when these are fitted to your car they have been tested at the pinnacle. And I have not been paid to say this I looked in to what i parting with my cash for I also spoke to a local group of local racing teams before buying and fitting the first one I have fitted 12 so far both my sons cars my car and van and for others all have came back when they need new ones
im a subsciber..like yer vids!!i just got my 18 grand sport earlier in the week..love it.i beleive i will put 1 of these in my car.i read not long ago if you take the black plactic headlight adjustment cover off on the pass. side,...it will get more air into the air box n you will notice the gain on that alone!!im going to try it.
Thanks, Clarence. You are doing videos on subjects I like to hear about. Just a little bit of constructive criticism: you could have done this video well in half the time. Don't talk about your races. Show them and be careful about repeating yourself too many times. We know you want us to like and subscribe, but don't open AND close your videos with that message. It makes a good close. I don't mean to be too critical. Youre doing a better job than I could, but there is always room for improvement.
Added many of the same mods to my '14 Z51, 7MT, Torch Red Conv; rear blades, Corsa Exhaust (Sport not Extreme), aFe CAI and a bunch of others (shift kit, wheels and tires, interior trim pieces, steering wheel/shift knob, etc. I have a great mechanic (Mark @ Titus-Will in Olympia, WA) who did the installs. He's fairly firm on the idea that the CAI really adds very little true performance but I truly believe it does breathe better, revs more easily and does add a nice sound. Glad I found your site and will enjoy it in the future.
I could be wrong, but I really believe the difference here is the lower restriction air filter, not the inlet box itself, especially since the vehicle is naturally aspirated.
Good work Clarence, that cold air intake looks amazing! The biggest key to feeling and actually getting more throttle response along with more power is, having both the exhaust and intake! I know when I added both to my 1995 Z28, it made a giant difference in power, and I started beating cars that I shouldn’t have beat! Great video as usual, and congratulations on all your channel success!!!😊

cgarnerspeed252 You got it, brother. Good channel, good content... btw, this is the second c7 I have owned... the first one had the Afe with the diablo tune, then this second one I tried the "Holley" intake... I have all Holley parts on my 67 camaro with an Ls3...great parts and I respect Holley but their new Cai on my C7 was a waste of money... it robbed power from the entire power band compared to stock, I returned it... thus I found the Afe again on ebay for 300 bux with a coupon code... we back in business beatin gallardos... God bless. :)
I was looking for a video like this for my c6 of before and after. Works the same. C7 is out of my price range right now :( and c8s are completely outrageously priced. Thanks to your video i think i will get a cold air intake

The AFe intake you installed. Looks similar to the Chevy performance one sold by GM. The so called ripples you speak of in the oe intake tube is for sound and straightening the flow of air. NVH(noise, vibration, and harshness) plays a big part in designing those intakes and other things associated with the car.
transam2002ws6 hey thanks for your comment and appreciate you taking the time to watch. Thanks for the information provided, I personally prefer my aFe over the Stock air filter. I understand Chevy took the time to do that but my car feels a lot better without it. Haha Would love for you to subscribe and join our community
cgarnerspeed252 yeah I hear you. My explanation was just stating that the stock air flow system. Isn't really a cold air intake as compared to the one you purchased. It's just what the engineers designed to meet the requirements set. So the corvette intake system would pass their stringent parameters for airflow, noise and whatever else is needed to get the car on the road. The aftermarket isn't necessarily tied to the same NVH rules as the car manufacturers. So technically GM doesn't have to do better. They are just doing what's necessary not to get fined by the laws set by the EPA and our government.
transam2002ws6 oh I completely agree with that by all means! There’s so much they have to take in to effect. I just wanted followers to know how that cold air intake would perform
NIce that it's more reponsive but I wonder if 1) it lets more dirt in than the OEM 2) the oil spray on the cold air intake will do more harm to the engine.
It would get even more power if the intake inlet was located in a high pressure zone as in the front grille instead of a low pressure zone as in a wheel well that sucks air out.
This is an awesome Intake my friend. I had an INJEN intake on my older 2010 Acura TSX, it sounded great but I don't believe it made a huge difference for me because this AFE intake you have has a smart design where it's similar to the factory air box design as it is closed off from the engine bay like the stock yellow filter was. So being the same factory design with a larger filter, I think AFE made a great product here, sounds mean Clarence haha awesome video sir

I wonder if you could link the site of that cold air intake that you put on your Corvette and the number to that cold air intake that you put in your Corvette I have the same Corvette and I’d like to install that colder intake

What do you think about the C7 cold air intake from GM (11 hp on the LT4 and 17 hp on the LT5)? Streetspeed717 purchased one and did a UA-cam video on it but never dyno tested it in his ZR1.

Great video. Thanks for taking the time to make it. I just bought a 2019 C7 L2T and was thinking about adding a cold air intake. I live in Canada so anything we buy usually comes from the States. Can I ask what your intake costs? Then I can do the conversion to Canuck bucks. Thanks.
@@cgarnerspeed252 Thanks for the reply. Mine is just a 2019 C7 LT2 Stingray. The salesman insists it a Z51 model but I don't believe him. Yeah it has lots of Z51 options but missing the dry sump oil, and slotted rotors and black painted callipers. So not sure who is right there. Was checking on Amazon for the AFE and they range from $700.00 to $1500.00, but thats Amazon for you.
@@cgarnerspeed252 So I ordered the AFE cold air intake from a Canadian distributor . Cost me $700.00. Was actually more but he knocked it down a bit and threw in free shipping. We Canucks pay through the nose for everything.

Good stuff man. I can definitely hear the difference in sound. This has been one of those myths I have been skeptical about myself. I think I might just intall one on mines.
That road test was not apples to apples comparison. Before CAI, you went from a roll, never shifted gears, and it was not WOT. After CAI, you went from a dig, all the way to 3rd gear WOT. Why the trickery?
I bought it for my Grandsport 2019 ... I heard bad things about it but we will see. I have headers xpipe and afe filter so after mine tune, well see. !
thank you for the info..c5 had restrictive intake comparable to an olympic runnur with a mouth full of cotton..airrade intake gave me seat of the pants power that you feel...B and b Bullets added power and sound...my future plans .....add to my stable with a new ragtop GS...plan to get your intake and a Hypertech tuner...get me close to 500hp without voiding waranty...thanks again
Pep's 2004 vette hey no problem thank you for responding! Thank you for watching the video as well and I hope it help. Would love for you to subscribe.
Another well done video. It's too bad you didn't get the vette dyno'd before & after changes were made. Then we'd see for certain what your hp/torque gains were. I'm looking for an air intake for my C4. Will keep this manufacturer in mind. Having watched a number of UA-camr car vids, it's easy to see how difficult it is to grow a channel. Hang in there. Hope to attend my 1st Corvettes at Carlisle next month. Will keep an eye out for you. Peace.
Tyran Mathurin thanks for your comment! I appreciate you for watching. I can’t speak on the stingray but for the GrandSport I can. Everyone knows my channel if it didn’t work I would tell everyone as my personal experience but even my friends notice a huge difference in the throttle response with the bigger air intake/filter. Once again I think it depends on your preference but it works for me. Do you have a stingray? Would love for you to subscribe and be apart of the community
Everyone I know that owns a C7 GrandSport that added the aFe air intake said they gotten a better throttle response out of their cars. I even had subscribers that are apart of this channel said they installed the same air filter on cars that’s not even corvettes and got a better throttle response. I’m telling you based off my car and the dyno sheet. Unless you have a C7 Corvette and you installed the same air intake that I’m referring you have no reason to say that I don’t have a better throttle response. Trust me if I didn’t believed it worked I would have shipped it back along time ago. I wouldn’t waste your time or mine if I didn’t think so but I can tell you one thing I’m not sending it back why because I get a better throttle response and more gain from the factory. I can’t add a picture on here of the dyno sheet but if you have an email I’ll be more than happy to email you the dyno sheet!! Lol
cgarnerspeed252 If you buy any flavor of intake you need to get some flavor of tune. That is common sense as a intake alone just makes noise and kills low end if you have been modifying for a while.
@@cgarnerspeed252 90k and no rattles. Still runs like new, been very well maintained and nicely modded (heads, manifold, throttle body, headers, radiator, exhaust, tune, suspension and interior), I know TMI.

I don't think that the Chevy cold air system suck. Why, because. when you buy a new car it comes with a setup that is best for the GENERAL. DRIVING PUBLIC AND THE STANDARDS. SET BY THE GOVERNMENT. EPA. In every case if you want more performance, you go to after market equipment. You even said in the veido that it was ok! Therefore the title of your video is a little misleading and Chevy system DOES NOT SUCK! Thanks for letting me express my opinion on the subjects.
Just watched video saw my car thx for showing my beautiful vette. I have the afe cold air intake in mine and yes noticeable difference over stock. And you can definitely hear the sound difference. Keep up with the great vids
Not enough technical information that is..to add to my last comment... to much generalization not knowing the specifics or technical aspects of automotive engineering.

Good stuff man. I can definitely hear the difference in sound. This has been one of those myths I have been skeptical about myself. I think I might just intall one on mines.
Happy almost birthday. I was just thinking of adding a cold air intake thanks for the review.
Jim Sandacz the one that I added definitely is great seriously I love it!
That road test was not apples to apples comparison. Before CAI, you went from a roll, never shifted gears, and it was not WOT. After CAI, you went from a dig, all the way to 3rd gear WOT. Why the trickery?
Where is the best place to buy this afe intake from? Thanks in advance
I bought it for my Grandsport 2019 ... I heard bad things about it but we will see. I have headers xpipe and afe filter so after mine tune, well see. !
You still have a warranty right?
CGarnerSpeed252 I really don’t know ! That’s an important info... thanks
Is this CAI for any C7 or just the C7 Z06? Thanks 👍
Great video brother - been waiting for a video like this - helps a lot to make the jump - your the best
Hey Clarence, thanks for the photo op on my GS, damn it looks pretty lol. I forgot to ask is your Ride "wrapped" ??Have a safe and sane 4th bro
Old post but damn son, that paint on your car looks amazing, Nice !
thank you for the info..c5 had restrictive intake comparable to an olympic runnur with a mouth full of cotton..airrade intake gave me seat of the pants power that you feel...B and b Bullets added power and sound...my future plans .....add to my stable with a new ragtop GS...plan to get your intake and a Hypertech tuner...get me close to 500hp without voiding waranty...thanks again
Peace.
Why arent their any videos of K&n Cai?
do you have any dyne numbers on the intake ?
Ordered one today!!! Thanks for the great video
Eric Cunningham yeah not a problem, which model did you order it for?
Grandsport lt1 2018
Eric Cunningham oh awesome car my friend! Where do you live again?
Alabama
Eric Cunningham did you buy your car new?
Thnx for the vid...gonna put one on my 2019 stingray. Looking for some cheap xtra HP. Hopefully it works for me too
Robert Fitzpatrick heck yea man you will tell a difference for sure! Would love for you to subscribe
I've definitely been looking at a new air intake for my car. Thanks for the video!
What have you heard about Jake 💀Chevrolet air intake .. is that specifically tuned for Corvettes?
C7 or higher models ?
Ive been debating this now I'm gonna go buy it, Thanks
So you recommend this after having it for some time now how is it
cash flow absolutely! Wouldn’t change it for anything else
Did you ever dyno see about those numbers
cash flow that I didn’t do because it cost $500 here to Dyno and I rather wait till I get a tune :)
@@cgarnerspeed252 500 yikes yea i rather leave it a mystery
Dude why don’t you change your stock headers?
Pops n Cracks currently do not have the funds right now lol
Great post my friend. You should take it to the dyno again...
Happy birthday brotha!
Happy birthday!
J Raymond thanks man I appreciate that a lot!!
Killing it! Great job, love watching your vids!
There's no need to install it on the C7 Stingray and Gran Sport, to begin with!
Tyran Mathurin Why do you say that? Do you have any data to back up your claim???
Lol
@@cgarnerspeed252 My man, I'm going to go with Air Aid for my GS!
JuLz I would totally do it!!
Some Reports state that it kills bottom end
steven wentling really? I didn’t know that
cgarnerspeed252 If you buy any flavor of intake you need to get some flavor of tune. That is common sense as a intake alone just makes noise and kills low end if you have been modifying for a while.
steven wentling yes make sense! Right now I haven’t did any mods just added an exhaust and intake haha
How much was it??
I really like my Airaid CAI on my C6.
UI Video where did you get it?
@@cgarnerspeed252 eBay, where all the best Corvette mods come from, lol. I bet the c8 will change that.
UI Video haha nice, how many miles on your car?
@@cgarnerspeed252 90k and no rattles. Still runs like new, been very well maintained and nicely modded (heads, manifold, throttle body, headers, radiator, exhaust, tune, suspension and interior), I know TMI.
For some reason I was expecting pops, but sounds meaner
Sharp Grand Sport nice video God bless until next video!
John Cook thanks John for the comment and being apart of the channel
Nice vette. Keep rockin 👍🏻
Big C lmao lmao cmon man let it go.he got u by almost 1 n a half..but like i said u had a better reaction time n drove ur baby hard.u didnt win but You raced against a ZR1 n did good. U still lost ...lmao nice vid tho
Definitely meaner after the install
Keep it up.
Thank you!!!!
Henrirtta Browm hey thanks for your comment and I appreciate it
Just watched video saw my car thx for showing my beautiful vette. I have the afe cold air intake in mine and yes noticeable difference over stock. And you can definitely hear the sound difference. Keep up with the great vids
Not enough technical information that is..to add to my last comment... to much generalization not knowing the specifics or technical aspects of automotive engineering.
Bro why dont you talk about the AFE ? you give to much info . Keep iT pro
That exhaust tho🙎♂️🙎♂️🙎♂️🙎♂️🙎♂️🙎♂️
Good choice, Do the Camaro get play time lol
36 thumbs down...shame on u guys11
Hey, when you show subs rides YOU TOOK THAT FROM CORVETTE 918. It does not even sound right coming from. you. NOT COOL. Come up with something that highlights you.
Henrirtta Browm sorry you feel that way, but lots of people done that as well. Thanks for your comment have a good day!!
Too Much Dialog !
Are you trying to say your 460 hp GS is faster than a 755 hp ZR1? I saw that! Total!!! Clickbait! I've seen many races between you two! He has easily won every race against you unless maybe an error occurred. You say on your channel your all about being a role model and being honest! I call Bull shit! I just see a guy that saw an opportunity to throw out some Click bait trying to get Subs. Careful doing what your doing can ruin your credibility! You could lose subs! Now I'm just a viewer and sub to your channel through mikes channel! But Seeing what I just saw you do! I'm un subing your channel. You may want to think carfully how you go about growing your channel.
Tim spinning ain’t winning. I’ve beaten cars that are faster on paper but can’t put the power down due to traction.
