I have an E46 and badly would like to get a B58 and an ZF-8HP45 Transmission... and just make it work.
Also My Grandfather worked on the B58 Aircraft as a mechanic for near his entire career... The e46 was my Dad's passing gift to me.
It would be insanely cool to me to have a such a powerful engine that also had a neat tie back to family history, while keeping my Dads last ride going.
Why 8hp45 ?

@@ArkAngelHFB won’t hold as much power as the 8hp51 which comes on the b58 motor

Time for the m3 boys to get booked in, whip out the old horrible sounding donkey and have these guys get the b58 in there. Engines and gearboxes come up cheap now.

Guys NEVER reuse plugs EVER these plugs are too thin and will break on you. This ain’t no M50. use a torque wrench as well. 3:39

Just FYI that Renault Truck was broken down, I went on the callout for it! Haha! Suzie blew on the back so brakes locked on and couldn't build pressure in the transmission to get gears!

Any collabs incoming? Would be good to give me a budget and say find people to collab with (ie give them free shiiiii cos they greedy) I’d get this UA-cam to 100k by end of year😈🤑
First thing I’d do in your shoes would be hire someone on a £ per video basis to do a series “diary of a car tuner/life of a performance engineer” or something similar. Kind of inspired by Calvin on that one, his series does so well because above all he is genuine and knowledgeable whilst being a stand up guy. You are exactly the same so I don’t see why it wouldn’t rocket. Idk, give it a go mate🤷♂️

I see you mention standalone at towards the end of the video, guessing is not he MS43 from the E46 or rhe one from the F series ?
Standalone means its independent of the e46 or f20 more details will follow in upcoming videos

Awesome work lads. I have been looking at this conversion for a while.. what's the fitment like between the steering linkage and the exhaust/manifold/turbo?
Keeping OEM steering rack has been the biggest issue!!
@NVMotorsportUK could you not run an electric pump to the current rack?
I was more concerned about downpipe clearance between the steering linkage/column and the engine. I know when we do turbo conversions on standard m50s or m52s, there's very little room on that side of the engine..

Shaft is difficult to get right but we made a hybrid with a F series so we don’t lose the feel. Most run a a UJ bolted to frame and you ruin first 45degree of turn
