So much for the spaces the government wanted during the Pandemic. Let's use a hangar instead ? Makes me sick to see places like this go to ruin. This place ain't bad looking. Such a shame it happens ☹️ This place sticks out like a sore thumb (Pun) won't be long before it's trashed ☹️ Should be made use of 👍
@@clivejones5880 I watch loads of these abandoned properties and all due repects to the explorers that take us to these wonderful buildings. That had so many memories. Not to keen on showing of photographs of the previous owners. Or going through draws. Just don't open them. As for redevelopment yeah car park ? Yeah why not 😂
What a beautiful building! Can't believe those chandeliers and fancy light fixtures in an "asylum"! What a shame it is just sitting there doing nothing, it is a lot of space. Hope some use is found for it before it is just demolished!
That building is GORGEOUS! So sad to think of anyone being in an asylum, but if one has to be, that looks like the best one to be in! I hope someone can re-purpose this property. Either a new hospital or varied medical services or even an artist's collective that turns it all into a variety of studios. It would be a tragedy for it to fall into ruin! Loved the video and have to wonder how many years a person had to work there to figure out where they were going with ease.
Really loved this building: the colors, the windows, the architecture and the rabits. What a waste, this would be an amazing place if it were to be turned into apartments or something. Thx for sharing.
In Scotland, they have been renovating the old asylums to make housing. A friend of mine is from there, and the Scots really value their history, and these buildings can be replicated, but the expenses far exceed the renovation project costs. None of these replications would be built to the same durability, either. This asylum looks like a great candidate for renovation. If needed, petitioning the Federal government and private sectors, would be a great way to get things going.
Nah we like plasterboard speaker walls with no sound insulation here, its much better for listening to your neighbors.. That old familiar sound of next door on the toilet, brings the communities together lol.
Great explore. Such a shame that the buildings/grounds are left to fall into disrepair and not utilised for assisted living or housing of some sort. This happens more often than not; a building that needs little or no rehab sits vacant and across the street a new one is put up;so wasteful😞. Love your respect of property during your explores. Keep safe, cheers 👍✌
Great explore once again like someone said if walls could talk what stories they would say i wonder what is going to happen to the building thanks for sharing xx
Looks more of a hospital rather than an asylum but loved the maintenance workshop, wish you had found the boiler rooms and the morgue, there always is one.
This would make one great idea for one of those found footage horror movies...excellent. And very every envious of the Bearded Explorer's Beard--it's magnificent!:0)
I feel the layout of the building is to purposely confuse the inmates. Old prisons were built like that too. The company my father worked for long ago ,did a painting job at Winchester prison. My father and his work mates frequently got lost and had to be led around by the guards. My father was of a nervous disposition and was very happy when the job was over. LOL
Great video dude 🤜🏻🤛🏻 You defiantly need to do a night explore in this place m8y 😎 The thing is there were and are loads of these places all around the country just going to waste 🙄 Stay safe brother 🙂🍻👍🏻
Blimey I remember visiting cane hill around 1980 as a 7 year old as my auntie was in there, the most scary place you could imagine at that age meeting the residents. Felt like a very sinister place ☹️
Haha yes, had many adventures at Cane hill. Just getting in past security was hard in the end. West park was another one we used to visit as teens, way scarier than Canes hill
I remember in the 90's, a friend of mine did work experience at Joyce Green hospital in Dartford and was asked at some point to help move stuff out of one of the main buildings as they were gutting it. Intentionally or not, he kept hold of the keys and we snuck back at night a few months later to look around because he said there was loads of stuff still in there. It was one of the mental wings and there were things like straight jackets, body bags and guitars and other musical instruments. However, at 2am we don't know what quite went wrong. We either just happened to have keys for other wards and entered the wrong wing or they had done the work really quickly and reinstated it as an asylum because we walked around and it was quiet. All the mental patient rooms opened from the outside but locked closed behind you so you had to be careful not to get stuck. We went into a few common areas and staff rooms, nothing interesting. Then we went through and opened a patient room door to find a guy sitting in bed staring at us. He shrieked a noise that stuck with me even now , we ran, an alarm went off and we never looked back. When it closed in 2000 we planned to go back but there was always people working there as it was a historical site so they were saving a lot of things. It didn't sit for very long before they demolished it.
Just found your channel and subed. Like the flow of your vids. I'm fascinated with old finds and designs ranging from autos to habitats. Nice to see the UK scene. JP (LA, Cal)
new subscriber here u guys look like your alot of fun to be with i love urban exploring i have explored some abandoned places myself really fun were are you guys located
This was so very cool, thank you for the video. If only the walls of abandoned buildings could talk, the stories would be so interesting. It would be cool to know why it closed? It almost looks as if everyone moved out only a a month or so ago. What a fantastic building for filming in, especially post apocalyptic movies or short films. The sad part is all the equipment, fittings etc. that are still in such good nick that they still could be used. The building also looks like it is in good enough shape to be repurposed in so many ways, shelter for people who are homeless, children's programs, low income housing, community programs. Obviously at some point the first large room (with the large fish mural) that you were in was used as a church to meet. The numbers on the floor were from the hymn board and I hazard a guess that the small door in the wall with a cross on the front and curtains held the host.
There was a really eerie vibe about that building. It was so quiet it was beyond surreal. A really interesting and thought provoking explore. And I could have sworn at times it felt as though you and Tazer weren't alone. Imagine what it would have been like to explore that place at night...👻
Nothing like the asylum my mother was in from the mid 60's until the mid 80's. This looks like an Hilton Hotel. Check out St John's Hospital, Bracebridge Heath, Lincoln. They were in cells, not wards like this.
Another fantastic video, I could have happily watched the whole 3hrs if you recorded it all. Looks like there’s quite a few buildings you didn’t go in though.
it's a shame this place isn't repurposed it's a beautiful bunch of buildings you gotta love the use of natural light in these old buildings ...you two be having too much fun lol
Nice hospital. Not sure why it would have closed. It was in good condition. Probably not the most practical layout, but a psych hospital doesn't need to wheel too many beds around. What did they do with all the patients? Did they build a new hospital? They could have used this for coronavirus patients and kept the main hospitals running....Just a thought.
How many peoples lives have been touched by this place? Really sad the it'll probably be redevevolped into flats or houses for folks with money Good that it's it recorded for posterity by Bearded explorer. This will be a valuable resource in years to come
I'll bet the sounds you heard were Tazer coming through various doors & because of the distance between you & the various closed doors that's why it was quiet & so sounded like something being dropped. Also, don't forget the water that was in the various U bends of toilets & sinks, etc would have evaporated & so you would hear any sounds (wind, rats, etc) down in the sewers. Fantastic to see all those rabbits chilling just feet away from you without a care in the world. The "snake" you mention would actually be a long necked dinosaur such as the Diplodocus or something like that. And the 9v battery packs you found on the floor that you initially thought might have been walkie-talkies are battery packs for the door closers.
the ramsey bit where you walked in would likely have been either a tv room or main entry seating area (real life expierience) its obviously vaguely modernised but a place I knew of wasnt much different just older decor 20 years ago, place near Bristol theres videos of urbex there on here, or there was, they where going through the nurse quarters saying about how spooky it was hilarious, the place was a straight jacket mental hospital with very dark tales originally, the meds where bad enough, they caused nightmares and actual mental illness themselves
Need to go looking for this place never been into one as new and only done one abandoned building but more will come to my channel like to go at night and in the day to do some evps to see if haunted or not looks wicked hopefully that’s in the UK lucky not been Destroyed yet hopefully not and stays standing coz don’t think it’s aloud to be knocked down another wicked video
Those pink walls and the weird mechanical looking tub honestly wouldn't do anything for my mental state. At least you would be able to go to lectures and play in the gym if you were locked up here.
Disturbing and unsettling , especially the bath with the winch . Imagine how degrading that would have been ? Why does the shower curtain thing in the bath have a human body shape to it ? Likewise through the next doorway that spilt red paint has a definite body shape about it . Don't like it , it's weird .
It's called a hoist...and imagine how degrading it would be to not be able to get clean. I thought the whole place had a really nice feel to it. Not all of these old buildings do, but I thought it seemed a place where people were genuinely cared for. I guess we all form our own impressions.
You have to understand places like this where there has been a tremendous amount of human emotion, it sticks to the fabric of the building. Residual energy can manifest into dark negative energy and abandoned asylums like this are the perfect breeding ground for demons and paranormal activities. They should come back at night and see the mood change. The fact they heard noises out of the ordinary, suggests there is something definitely here.
You are so calm...lovely young man what a treat to look at your videos on a bit of a binge at the moment keep them coming ✨🕊️
Lovely and clean building, well kept, the home less could live there, until they get on their feet
It's honestly so infuriating to see all these abandoned buildings, think how many people could live in a building this size.
So much for the spaces the government wanted during the Pandemic. Let's use a hangar instead ? Makes me sick to see places like this go to ruin. This place ain't bad looking. Such a shame it happens ☹️ This place sticks out like a sore thumb (Pun) won't be long before it's trashed ☹️ Should be made use of 👍
@@greywebs1944 They'll probably knock the buildings down and put a car park in instead. Disgraceful.

Looks so clean and obviously untouched. Amazing!
This place is soooo clean, they must have walked out as you walked in! Nice change.
What a gorgeous place 😍... Thank you for sharing.
Really loved this building: the colors, the windows, the architecture and the rabits. What a waste, this would be an amazing place if it were to be turned into apartments or something. Thx for sharing.
Its gonna look lovely when its all painted up, I can hear the patter of little footsteps already the little darlings

Remarkable. A place of carnival colors. Wonder if they put the angry children in the Badger Ward. Loved every minute. Thanks 🌴🇺🇸

They have left the place very clean and no vandalism or graffiti, very nice explore thnx.
Such a shame to see such a valuable resource left to decay. Great explore. 👍👍
Should use the place to keep the homeless off the streets to keep them warm and dry
So they can leave needles everywhere and start fires? 🙄
My thought exactly.
44:33 😂😂😂 they are cool though ✨

I can personally vouch that this site was an asylum, as this is an n my old hometown.

This is the cleanest abandon asylum I think I have ever seen

Crazy to think how many pairs of feet have walked those corridors.
And the many trips and falls 🥴
Those angle wall lights are an interior designers dream .

Amazing what a pleasure too look a this
These are amazing. Remember cane Hill asylem before it was knocked down

Worked there.Bands would play in the the main hall at weekends for staff.
That's interesting I bet that brings memories back 🐱 all those machines I guess was the maintenance workshop I be in my elements such a shame.
You must go back at night Colin!
Yeah i would like to see you guys or more explores spend a night there. You might hear more noises.
That’s really neat building! I really liked the Ramsey area Ramsey is my maiden name! Love the explore thank you!
that hall is amazing... those numbers are what are put up for hymn readings like you see in church when you go to a service.

Care in the community wasn't it 🤔
good place to play a game hide n seek ! 🙄
It would make a great apartment building.
Really interesting must have held a good few inmates at one time
Aw, I didn't want it to end! Very interesting, thanks for sharing!

greetings yep would be great to back at night
I have a feeling that’s where the first episode of the 11th doctor from doctor who was filmed
Wow how many people were housed there?
"i didnt expect to see this here...." :)
its a lot cleaner than hospitals i been in .. what are active today lol

Any idea why its abandoned/ closed
Great video mate
The microwave instructions will be for people with learning difficulties, or dementia patients. The Reminiscence Room is also for dementia sufferers.
My guess at 7.21 it is a RC Chapel.
haha you found the old methylphenidate and morphine store hidden in the chapel trap door bwaha
Wow what a find and place, shame its like this. If walls could talk.
Batteries will be for equipment that they can move from ward to ward
What's the music you use at the start of your videos?
It's not a metal detector, it looks like it would have been for someone walking out the hospital library without checking out their book.
Cool vid
What's the intro music used on this vid?
😍👍
Those pink walls and the weird mechanical looking tub honestly wouldn't do anything for my mental state. At least you would be able to go to lectures and play in the gym if you were locked up here.
Surely it had to more than an asylum, if not, that's a lot of patients.
Where is the Jimmy Sevile Ward? lol
Which asylum is this?
Metal detectors prob stop patients taking knifes to their beds so they bedrooms
Way to long intro. Skip them. Otherwise an awsome video as always. Keep it up!
Site has now been sold for 200 new homes to be built on it

It cannot be that long closed, judging by the decor I take it they painted the place before closing it down.
Saad why abandoned what reason

I have to admit that you are pretty "brave" not wearing gloves especially in a place like this... Think about it, stay safe!
Could you elaborate on this I don’t see any danger it’s just an abandoned building aye
They should wear protective gloves wherever they go.
you shoud talke this vidio to someone in the coverment to show ,, what some counciles have abandoned
