I am SO the person who has used it once and now it's sitting in my pantry ...just waiting for me to take courage again! That totally made me laugh! I'll get it out and I'll try it before the week is out. I'll have a back up frozen pizza standing by...just in case. ;)

I successfully did a Betty Crocker hungarian goulash recipe in my instapot. I just doubled all of the ingredients while factoring out the water it called for and adding noodles and ground beef instead of steak.
Then I based my liquid and pasta measurements on a Campbell's instapot lazy lasagna recipe (which I slash in half) and it turned out great. I also did not stir and put ketchup and sugar ontop of meat, water (plus two tsp beef bollion) and pasta. 7 minutes of pressure and oh my!

So much more than just soups and stews! I grew up watching my mother use a pressure cooker for canning and for occasional stews. you've shown me how to do a whole lot more. I'm especially impressed with the sweet potatoes. It's so hard to get them tender in the microwave. I'll bet parsnips would cook up nicely too.

With dairy, it's also good to add plant based milks at the end. They don't really curdle, but they can separate. Also, add thickeners at the end too, because they can sink to the bottom and burn (some thickeners may already be in your ingredients so watch out). This is one of the reasons people get burn warnings and can't get it to come to pressure. I've been able to cook successfully with thickeners, but you really have to use enough liquid and mix/dissolve thoroughly.

Your whole chicken recipe was the first thing I cooked in my Instant Pot. And your recipe for sweet and tangy meatballs was my second thing. And I’m going to cook your sweet and sour meatballs tonight. I’m loving my Instant Pot and your recipes, so please keep them coming. I haven’t cooked a lot in it since I’ve got it because, of some health issues and I’ve spent most of the time since Dec. 28th in the hospital. But I’m hoping to get to cook some more food in it. Do you have a recipe on how to cook dry beans in the Instant Pot. And how to cook things like cabbage, collard greens, etc. Thank you so much!

I switched my slow cooker chili recipe to the Instant Pot. It was faster to put together the ingredients because I could brown the ground meat in the IP. However, since the lid had a tighter seal than my old slow cooker, there was more liquid so it was kind of soupy. Once I adjusted the liquids, it came out great.

I wanted you to know that my mother told me not to put all the vegetables in my corned beef at the same time. When I met my husband, he just put everything in the pot at once, the next year, I suggested that he try not cooking all the veggies so long and that the cabbage at the end for just a few minutes was so different. He grumbled, but tried it. Said it was a pain but totally worth it; that cabbage and carrots barely cooked were incredible.

I know that one thing to keep in mind is if you are at a higher altitude the cooking times take a bit longer to get the desired result. I'm at 5000 ft. and noticed it always took longer than the recipe said. So I learned I needed to times the cook time by 1.2 which added about 20% longer cooking time. Love all your recipes. You are absolutely right about keeping on trying and using your instant pot because it really is a game changer in the kitchen!

The only thing is my instant pot doesn't have a "manual" button. I did the high pressure for 7 minutes, but, I got a "burn" warning. So I pushed stop and it was done to perfection. Any tips on how to avoid the "burn"?

I have never had a problem with milk, cheese, or any dairy product in my Instant Pot.
That could be, because though, there are always other ingredients in with what I cook.
I also make plenty of cheese cakes in my Instant Pot which turn out great,...the only
way for me to make cheese cake!
The potato soup and other things are not a problem either.
Love my Instant Pot, and I LOVE your videos!!! THANKS!!!

I recently purchased an instant pot and I’ve cooked chicken & dumplings and spaghetti. Do you have any suggestions to prevent the “burn” message when cooking these types of meals?

💌 I like the cheat sheet for the recipe cooking times. Do you have a chart for converting frozen food cooking times to Instant Pot and how to decide the pressure Level for frozen foods? I am cooking Crispy Tenders and they already have a coating on them and require baking up to 20 minutes. I am wondering do I decrease the time for Pressure cooking or increase the time because it is frozen?
