Love your videos and your tips! I am the #1 of 6 kids, so I really get the 6 sisters... I just have one brother, he’s the baby. LOL. I have a tip for you - I also use my IP for making veggie broth. I save all the ends, like carrot ends, snap pea ends, tomato ends, celery ends, etc. (not cukes or potatoes though). I stick ‘em in a bag in the freezer. When it gets full enough, I put them in the IP and add enough water just to cover. I put them on for 45 minutes until they are basically mush. Then I strain out the veggies, and also squeeze all the juice out of them. By that time, they are good for the compost, AND I’ve gotten the broth as a second use from the ends that most people throw away. Give it a try! And Keep On Cookin’ !

Pat Some people are minimalists and it’s nice to see all the things you can do in your expensive instant pot. If you can do the same thing in your instant pot that you can do with other gadgets, what’s the point in having all the other gadgets.

    • @CynthiaRaxter
      @CynthiaRaxter 4 роки тому

@@51andhappy44 I did give away one Crock Pot, a rice cooker and a bamboo steamer... but the George Forman stays. :-) The Geo. Forman is great for cooking bacon without a mess. Grilled veggies. Pancakes (mine has a griddle plate). And frozen boneless chicken breasts in 8 minutes. I also kept my electric tea kettle. I use it instead of the Instant Pot for boiled eggs. I could never get them just right in the Instant Pot - i always overcooked them. They came out with the green ring around the yolk. The tea kettle is perfect. It boils water and turns off. 8 minutes later perfect hard boiled eggs.

Love your videos. Here is a cost saving tip for you. Costco or Sam's sells individual popup foil sheets that work perfect for wrapping burritos. At first I thought they were too expensive however I found I was using so much foil tearing pieces off the roll of foil. I believe there are like 500 sheets of foil. We make breakfast burritos in our home and we make a batch about every 10 days. We bought the last box of foil sheets about 3 months ago and we have only used less than half. They are very convenient. Give them a try.

YOGURT, 1 Container of FAIRLIFE WHOLE MILK,
      1 can SWEETEN CONDENSED milk
      About 3 Tablespoons
CHOBANI WHOLE MILK GREEK YOGURT (PLAIN)
PUT ALL 3 INGREDIENTS IN INSTAPOT , MIX VERY WELL , PLACE LID ON ,(NOT PRESSURE SETTING)
TAP YOGURT BUTTON , AND COOL AFTER IT'S DONE FOR ABOUT 5-6 HOURS , STORE IN WHATEVER CONTAINER OR JARS AND
WATCH IT DISAPPEAR FAST! I ALSO ADD ABIT OF
TORANI COCONUT SYRUP FLAVORING AND IT'S
      SUPER SCRUMPTIOUS !
P.S. you can also make YOGURT the OLD FASHION WAY,
      BUT that's another time.

Try rolling them in parchment paper. Then drop the wrapped R&BB 🌯 into a gallon ziplock freezer bag. You can then go from freezer to microwave 🌊 in one step 🦶no need to pull off the foil prior to a reheat.

Great video. I haven't tried beans, yet, but certainly will now because you made it look so easy. (I like the TX shaped cutting board.) As for popcorn, I've not had very good results. The IP leaves too many 'widow' kernels . . . I'd guess close to a fourth don't pop. I use coconut oil and the saute setting and make sure all kernels are oiled and spread across the bottom. Any tips for getting more of the kernels to pop?
Will definitely try the strawberry jam, too.
    Keep up the great work!!!

I used to make kettle corn on my stove in a big pot, but then I got a flat top stove and I haven't made it successfully since. I'm thinking that the IP would work for that! I used to put flavouring oils in too. Or just brown sugar instead of white sugar.

💕 I honestly would only make beans, out of the list of things you made. Abd the burritos were a little silly to me. It'd be 100 times easier either warming them on a small skillet, griddle or even the microwave. This way is just daring someone to burn their fingers, etc. 😏

I use my insta-pot to make home-made chicken stock. After I roast and carve a whole chicken, I throw the carcass in the pot with about 4 cups of water. Run the insta-pot for about 30 minutes, vent it, then let it cool for about another 10 minutes. I strain the stock into a fat separator, then transfer the stock to a 1-qt mason jar. Leave a little airspace at the top (about 1/4 inch) and put a lid on it, and stick it in the fridge. The warm stock heats the air in the jar enough to form a vacuum seal, but I always store mine in the fridge to be on the safe side.

Interesting about the white rice. I do high pressure for just 1 minute and then let it self release and its perfect.

For refried beans it much easier to pour them into a blender and in a minute you've got perfect consistency. Then to make it traditional style, make sure to add about a Tbsp of lard or bacon grease for every 2 cups of beans (yes, yes, it's not so healthy but that's how it's done in Mexico ;?).

Use a huller made specifically for removing the green bits off the strawberries. It is less wasteful time and strawberry-wise.

I saw someone use a straw to punch out green stem/area. It was brilliant!

They make "pincher" for just grabbing the hull. A straw is not necessarily going to work on a less ripe strawberry.

@@b_uppy I've seen those. This was something I saw done. Thought it was pretty creative. then they just threw away the straw,!

The hullers I describe generate the least waste and effort. You lose less fruit and don't have to bother with a flimsy straw versus a greenish strawberry. Sharing this for those people who are unaware and would find this better than bent straws or sore fingertips.

Non stick liner pan would come in handy for those enchiladas so they won't stick :)
