well if only those "expensive" long ammo rifles were actually you know expensive. Besides the new price of the mosin (why Crytek does it cost 2x the krag while being a side grade?) all long ammo guns are fair cheap. The krag price for instance makes no sense and even less after the massive buffs it has received. Why does it not cost 500-600$+? no matter the meta, the vast majority of guns in this game two tap to the body and one tap to the head at any range so it really comes down to pen and velo, both of which can be remedied with special ammo types if they're really an issue. the main reason you would care about high damage is one taps to the body after someone has been downed. point is play with what you want and you can make it work because most guns in the game still function well
No one said, that you cant win with other weapons. Meta doesnt mean that everything else sucks, it just means its the most strongest and you have the highest winrates with it, and thats an undeniable fact. And i think it should be a focus to have an eye on the meta and just change things, that are just way to strong.
24:35 im crying watching it over and over. It also adds to it when you turn to your friend "dude you have no idea" and he flicks on a grunt real quick hahaha comedy
@@stern2701 for sure this is the meta atm. or the reverse long mosin with shorty. shorty can still do serious work in compounds. I like these changes and tehy allow rifle players to push into compounds instead of stalemates while they wait outside. furthermore quartermaster is now s tier trait.
Only meta change I really hate (and this has been going on for a bit) is the flare and fusee burning change. At first I was interested, as those were never taken, but now everytime you get downed, you are just instantly on fire, making finding lanterns pointless. I'd like to at minimum see a change where salve skin would prevent you from getting lit and burning unless it was a continual flame first.
Nah cause then u have to sit around and wait 10 minutes to make sure someone is actually dead. Now you can get your kill burn them and move on. I play solo all the time and revive myself before they even get a chance to burn me. If you're playing in a group don't split off or push alone. It makes it way more balanced then the old version
I don’t agree. This new change makes the game much quicker and forces fights. Especially with how easy it is to get restoration now. The only thing I will say is the double nerf is maybe too much. I like the 60 second smokes, but the fire does burn just a little too quick. Maybe a 10% reduction in speed for both w/out and with salve skin.
@@jacob-tc4kp "If you're playing in a group, don't split off or push alone" and there is the problem. Getting downed is now so punishing, that nobody every splits up, or split pushes, nobody is taking risks in my games, because getting downed means you're always just going to get burned out.
I've noticed a few things. 1. I'm getting more kills per life than I used to. My K:D has improved, though I haven't changed my go to weapons or playstyle much. 2. Medium ammo guns are now more competitive with the Long ammo kings, with the exceptions of Mosin Spitzer and Krag incindiary. I have yet to find a combo that beats those on strict performance alone. 3. People are straight up ignoring bleed condition in fights. They don't seem to care if they are gushing life force, they try to stick out the fight until they die or kill you. Don't know why. 4. Shotgun spread is still inconsistent and seems to work for everyone except my squad, not just me, my buddies have difficulty getting a kill with them let alone consistency... yet we are dying to them at what feels like absurd ranges, even through cover without slugs. The screenshots I could post... 5. Compact ammo is laughably weak. Unless you get a headshot, like every other weapon, it feels like spitting on someone. 6. Levering and Fanning seem much more inconsistent... to the point me and my buddies are not buying the traits anymore. It's aggravating to rely on it for a short range panic button and just watch every bullet curve around the opponent. Not like it used to be.
I'm a brand new hunt player as before I had no idea what the game was but with the introduction of alot of extraction shooters I had a good idea but this game is so unique and beautiful at the same time. Games like this I feel like we're made for me.
Centential and springfield bleed ammos both apply max bleed now. I think that when you account for at least one tick of that it improves the damage those guns do over distance quite a bit. Ive been using a Spriny markman and a Scottfield both with bleed for a cheap verstile loadout with a big ammo pool that slaps over any distance.
Krag deserved to get buffed, i don't think anybody will disagree with that, but so far it has gotten 3 buffs 124 damage to 126 damage, which now allows 1-shot bodytaps which was incredibly frustrating design of fighting against long ammo 3 extra rounds, which means the Krag with its great rate of fire has more ammo to hose down at you, in isolation think is fine but with the damage buff it makes it kind of exhausting knowing that it has 18 rounds Price reduction, probably the smallest most insignificant change here but still a highlight that Crytek wants this weapon to be seen more in lower Elo overall i appreciate that the Krag is an extremely strong option, since i was so tired of the Mosin, but it shouldn't have gotten so many buffs at once, if you gave it more ammo for example that would've been fine on itso wn.
Reducing the ammo pool to 16 in total would be fine. I don't understand why uppercut precision got 15 reserve ammo as well 🙃 that on the level of martini henry
when Im playing Trios ill run the lemat carbine with the hand crossbow, poison and choke bolt. undderslung shotgun with a followup shot tends to be plenty for most hunters, and the crossbow can remove sight lines and rotates quite well. wouldnt take it solo as it doesnt really have as much consistent firepower, but in trios it feels really good
My 5* loadouts recently have been either quartermaster lebel db or officer carbine deadeye, this map really feels like you need a long and close range option at all times. Haven't tried sniping the middle mountain area yet, hopefully you make video showing some spots or something. Love your vids
Am i weird for having the silenced vetterli as my all time go to and favourite. Doesnt matter if i need the silenced aspect or not i just love that gun.
It felt like I was cross mapping people with the slate shotgun when I played last night, shotguns feel great. But I feel for me, it's medium ammo, with all the damage changes in a lot of cases it's almost the exact same as long ammo, but you are getting better drop off, and like double ammo capacity, but also mainly just loosing velocity. From my experience, it's medium now.
The thing is in over 90% of the times the bullet drop doesnt matter at all. Most weapons just have a drop beginning at like 150m (i speak mostly about rifles here), and in most moments youre just around that range. And even if youre over 150m away, the drop is kinda small and ez to get used to. So it doesnt nerfed long ammo at all. So it still has the fastest bullet velocity (which is importain for distance fights) and also the most damage (has still the smallest damage falloff over range). Medium ammo got better but still cant reach long ammo and also most medium rifles arent that good sadly. Only the cenntenial is kinda good.
I understand the need in shifting the meta, and I don't mind it to some extend. But with their balance tweaks in terms of drop, Crytek opened a new can of worms, especially with the new always lethal headhots. Because now most medium ammo guns on HV bullets outrange long ammo guns. To the point where a cheap 42 (or smth) bucks Springfield 1886 Marksman with HV outranges Mosin Nagant Sniper that costs 600+ bucks (because on the range beyond 140 meters Mosin will hit the Springfield in the chest while Springfield will still land a headshot up to 180 meters). That's weird. Also Uppercut, while being a good gun, is completey outclassed by Pax Trueshot, because now you don't have to worry about the headshot range, so you can take a gun that is three times cheaper than Uppercut, has a larger 'zero' distance, and lands a lethal headhot on the range where you need to re-adjust your aim with Uppercut (and Uppermat). Which is also weird. So, yeah, balancing is needed here because we have a new wave of guns that are more preferrable than the others and that are outclassing these others.
Nah not really, Long ammo is still supirior. First of all, money doesnt have value in hunt, because most players have so many hunt doller, that is doesnt matter what they wanna play, you have enough cash for it, so the price difference doesnt matter at all. And high velo ammo got nerfed, its way slower then before and does less dmg now, so thats just a nerf for medium and Compact ammo, because only martini has high velo as a long ammo weapon, so they arent effected by that nerf. Also even with high velo most medium ammo weapon nearly reach the normal bullet velo from basic long ammo rifle. But you ignored the fact, that most of long ammo rifles have spitzer, which is just high velo with fmj combined and if i remember correctly it hasnt even been touched the patch, so in fact long ammo is still as strong and medium/Compact got hit. And dont come with bulletdrop, in most of your fight you arent even in range where Bulletdrop begins and even if youre above 150m, the drop off isnt that hard. So something like Krag or mosin still outshines cenntenial by a mile, even with high velo. The only long ammo weapons, that really got a bigger nerf are the pistols. Uppercut and uppermat got reduced dmg (you cant kill hunter with bodyshots after 1 down anymore, with is sometimes importain). Also with these pistols you really feel the bullet drop. But i think this is healthy, because before you could pick an shotgun and use these pistols and had the strongest melee power with range power near to the rifles, and that wasnt balanced. If your big weapon is melee focused, you should be weaker at range battles
I think they went overboard on the high velo nerfs, and should be attempting to make medium and compact ammo guns a little more meta instead of nerfing the best ammo type for them because of one or two good weapons EDIT: also please play more with other people its so fun to watch
Well they did it, because some weapons were just op with it and the ammo type was just an straight upgrade to normal ammo, when special ammo normally always has a negative trait to balance it (like poison, fire and dumdum unable to pen for an example). But they went way to hard with it, also with fmj. They couldve just nerfed the specific guns or removed these ammo types for these weapons (like fmj for dolch). Wouldve been better then making an whole ammo type worse
@@poppychalupa9390 well yes obviously thats op, but dont nerf the whole ammo type nerf the guns that are op, carbine, marathon, centennial. I just think they went overboard
For me, the meta is still the same but is even more balance. What I like about hunt is the fact that you can play every weapon, with the recent change it’s even more true for me, except for some weapon who relies on high velocity ammo (vetterli is the best example, complety ruined now) Ofc meta is about long ammo mosin dolch blabla but it doesn’t mean other weapon are bad, for me.
Lower long ammo ammo pool, lower damage (certainly rollback Krag buff), increase cycle and reload times. Even with all this it will still be better than other guns.
I think they should consider making most long ammo guns 4 slot. This means without quarter master you can’t just automatically load into a match with Dolche + Long ammo. It also removes other strong meta picks like dolche precision and 2 slot shotties with quartermaster. You can leave the sparks and martini Henry as 3 and then I think there will be more variety in load outs.
Honestly everything feels really good rn. The new gun does a tad bit too much damage tbh for a medium ammo type it might be slow but hits harder than martini. I'd say, put that thing to springfield damage; but near sparks damage just makes that thing a little scary to fight. Slugs' drop barely affects it and the deviation is pretty small they should increase the two of those tbh, now that everyone has access to them. There are a few guns like vetterli, berthier, and lebel that i dont really use but the last time i touched them during this event the felt kinda off.
At 3:15 how did you even see those 2 people so quickly, at full screen, x0.25 speed and having my eyes glued to my monitor I could even barely see the enemy's especially the guy on the balcony.
The meta went from long ammo rifle with uppercut to long ammo rifle with dolch or sometimes medium slot shotguns. Shotguns are still pretty good, but against players who keep their distance it starts lacking as per usual. Compact guns are almost exclusively bad except for rolling the dice with levering, as the levering buffs are pretty good. Medium ammo is also as per usual sub-par, you neither have the push of long ammo nor the RoF of compact. The only guns I really would play if i wanted to tryhard apart from the mentioned meta and shotguns would maybe be the cyclone because its just fun to spam or Winnie swift for levering rng, i have started to like the winnie silencer with levering tbh, but thats just because i have a thing for silencers
I like the idea of, if everything is OP, nothing is. Like borderlands. The only meta change I think that needs to be made is reducing spear damage by about 25% for melee and thrown.
Medium ammo just feels much better to use, as do shotguns. The Drilling has been a favorite of mine post patch, and feels much stronger at distance than it did before.
Add long (any) ammo penetration nerf Penetration should do full damage only when you use dedicated pen ammo. A solid -10% to dmg on average when you wallbang a single wall then -35% on 2 or more walls should be a thing. You can even make this dmg reduction dependant of the surface you shoot. Hay = 5%, Wood = 10%, aluminium/metal = 15%. You can even buff some under used long ammo weapons by getting them a reduced penalty and increased penetration. And nerf spitz by removing 1 or 2 more bullets from the loadout but bring back the a proper 126 dmg to balance it out. This simple change would make compact & medium much more used with penetration
I cant enjoy the update so far. i play on a rtx 3070 with wqhd and even if i drop down all the settings to low, i got barley 60 fps. Does anyone have the same problem?

I feel like the weapon changes aren't nearly as impactful as what really causes these issues to stand out: a much better map for exchanges at distance. The compact ammo feels as though it simply doesn't have the velocity to be valuable unless you're a headshot machine, and spoiler alert, most people aren't. I love the changes, but the compact ammo feels outclasses even more so than was made evident in the past with closer range exchanges and smaller compounds, but the medium ammo has suffered as well. I feel as though balances will be made, or maybe even another map will come into play sooner rather than later that makes the weapons that are for closer exchanges more viable. All in all, the balance feels better than ever. Shotguns are in a good place, compact and medium ammo have closed the gap on long ammo by quite a bit, deadeye scopes are actually good now, and medium slot guns are all in a much better place. The only major outliers are the spear's cheesieness and the Krag's price (it should be as expensive as the Mosin). Also, Vetterli has long been an FMJ gun.
i think shotguns were fine before they just needed to nerd long ammo or buff small and medium which they kinda buffed small and nerfed medium a bit which medium needed the most buffs imo atleast to muzzle vol
I think it was silly to nerf hv damage AND reserve ammo AND velocity. maybe just 2 of those 3, though I won't deny hv was usually the best pick on any gun that had it. sometimes feels like crytek wants long ammo to always be the meta. ah well.
MMR in this game kind of blows. Ive only been playing since the newest update and im in 5-6 star lobbies. Just feels crazy going against level 50-100 prestiges every game. Even worse when i try to play with my boy who only plays for a fraction of the time. The game is so good too.
Honestly? Imo the current meta's shit. You run the spear. That's it. Other than that there's overbuffed Krag, or extremely effective shotguns, or both. The most buffed custom ammo now seems to be Incendieary. Everybody can guess which one does a Krag also have. Also the burn speed made all the 2v3 or 2v2 fights extremely one-sided, without time to properly rotate through the intricate compounds and such. Whoever kills and burns first wins most of the engagements, unless you just give up on your partners, but then they just burn out and have to wait for you to win the match by yourself and then go get a token.
only thing i dont like is everyone sniping since the map is so open. idk if its the fact im on NA or what but the amount of scoped weapons i find are ridiculous. i personally am a shotgun main.

@@datamining2340 I wouldn't call high price such a downside for high mmr players, especially since economy changes and huntollars farming during events, but I agree, 600-700 should be the lowest possible for a krag for example and I wouldn't mind mosin being even 900 or something like that
@@ramsaybolton9151 Would be interesting to see what would happen if Crytek nerfed long ammo rifles to increase cycle time even more. That would make compact and medium ammo more viable at closer ranges.
"I will be using the most meta stuff"
*proceeds to kill a poor soul with the flare gun
no matter the meta, the vast majority of guns in this game two tap to the body and one tap to the head at any range so it really comes down to pen and velo, both of which can be remedied with special ammo types if they're really an issue. the main reason you would care about high damage is one taps to the body after someone has been downed. point is play with what you want and you can make it work because most guns in the game still function well
No one said, that you cant win with other weapons. Meta doesnt mean that everything else sucks, it just means its the most strongest and you have the highest winrates with it, and thats an undeniable fact. And i think it should be a focus to have an eye on the meta and just change things, that are just way to strong.

Dolch + Long Ammo
“He stinks of solo” and I felt very attacked by that
I've noticed a few things.

But I would also say that scoped weapons are generally more viable because of the long distances you can see if you are in the mountains

Krag deserved to get buffed, i don't think anybody will disagree with that, but so far it has gotten 3 buffs
124 damage to 126 damage, which now allows 1-shot bodytaps which was incredibly frustrating design of fighting against long ammo
3 extra rounds, which means the Krag with its great rate of fire has more ammo to hose down at you, in isolation think is fine but with the damage buff it makes it kind of exhausting knowing that it has 18 rounds
Price reduction, probably the smallest most insignificant change here but still a highlight that Crytek wants this weapon to be seen more in lower Elo
overall i appreciate that the Krag is an extremely strong option, since i was so tired of the Mosin, but it shouldn't have gotten so many buffs at once, if you gave it more ammo for example that would've been fine on itso wn.
Reducing the ammo pool to 16 in total would be fine. I don't understand why uppercut precision got 15 reserve ammo as well 🙃 that on the level of martini henry

Great explanation and great display of skills hornet, really well put video to share with my new in hunt friends!
when Im playing Trios ill run the lemat carbine with the hand crossbow, poison and choke bolt. undderslung shotgun with a followup shot tends to be plenty for most hunters, and the crossbow can remove sight lines and rotates quite well. wouldnt take it solo as it doesnt really have as much consistent firepower, but in trios it feels really good
Great production plus the intro, amazing!
My 5* loadouts recently have been either quartermaster lebel db or officer carbine deadeye, this map really feels like you need a long and close range option at all times. Haven't tried sniping the middle mountain area yet, hopefully you make video showing some spots or something. Love your vids

Before big update: *Long Ammo is meta*
After update: “Let’s nerf all the medium and compact guns ammo types so they cannot compete with long ammo”
🤯
I think they went overboard on the high velo nerfs, and should be attempting to make medium and compact ammo guns a little more meta instead of nerfing the best ammo type for them because of one or two good weapons
EDIT: also please play more with other people its so fun to watch
Well they did it, because some weapons were just op with it and the ammo type was just an straight upgrade to normal ammo, when special ammo normally always has a negative trait to balance it (like poison, fire and dumdum unable to pen for an example). But they went way to hard with it, also with fmj. They couldve just nerfed the specific guns or removed these ammo types for these weapons (like fmj for dolch). Wouldve been better then making an whole ammo type worse
Use marathon swift with high velocity and tell me it’s not op 2 tapping ppl across the map while being able to mag dump
@@poppychalupa9390 well yes obviously thats op, but dont nerf the whole ammo type nerf the guns that are op, carbine, marathon, centennial. I just think they went overboard
For most of the fights the bullet drop doesn't even affect, specially inside and near the compunds so the long ammo and Dolch are still the meta xD
For me, the meta is still the same but is even more balance. What I like about hunt is the fact that you can play every weapon, with the recent change it’s even more true for me, except for some weapon who relies on high velocity ammo (vetterli is the best example, complety ruined now)
Ofc meta is about long ammo mosin dolch blabla but it doesn’t mean other weapon are bad, for me.
ive come across so many more unique loadouts then before on console and im all for it
Lower long ammo ammo pool, lower damage (certainly rollback Krag buff), increase cycle and reload times. Even with all this it will still be better than other guns.
I've been trying my best to enjoy the new carbine but...well, this video says it all.
I think they should consider making most long ammo guns 4 slot. This means without quarter master you can’t just automatically load into a match with Dolche + Long ammo. It also removes other strong meta picks like dolche precision and 2 slot shotties with quartermaster.
You can leave the sparks and martini Henry as 3 and then I think there will be more variety in load outs.
ok ok... i have 800h in Hunt and didnt know, that you can shoot the Swarm with the Flare gun *Facepalm*
That's the beauty of hunt. There's a lot of small details that can make all the difference in certain instances.
That first kill was nutty bro.
The mine entry fight with rachta and delaney on the ground was such a sick save 🙈
Crytek balances these guns like congress balances the budget
1:07 Trading is totally fine and realistic.

Add long (any) ammo penetration nerf
Penetration should do full damage only when you use dedicated pen ammo.

When are the tier 2 and 3 hunters coming? And i hate how easy it is to headshot players now and how the damage drop has caused some high power guns to not be able to One Hit Kill like they should, but it takes like 3 shots or a bit more
Meta is worse then before. Long ammo still op. The nerfs to special ammo was a kick in the balls.
I'm really enjoying Hunt atm, so much so that I've prestiaged to really get to grips with how each weapon behaves from scratch - although I'll have to start hitting shots to really work things out 😂

I think it was silly to nerf hv damage AND reserve ammo AND velocity. maybe just 2 of those 3, though I won't deny hv was usually the best pick on any gun that had it. sometimes feels like crytek wants long ammo to always be the meta. ah well.
I have grown to hate the krag so much. Really annoying to see such a cool and balanced gun become so powerful because of a needless buff.
Just like in COD, THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS "META" IN HUNT. YOU DO NOT GET ANY TYPE OF ADVANTAGE FROM RUNNING A SPECIFIC LOADOUT.
