You are one of the few non-book reader reactors I’ve seen whose caught the implications of the fact that Moiraine said she can not rather than will not. Great observation!
The reason that Moiraine and Siuan cannot tell anyone about their mission with the Dragon Reborn is that they had a duty to report it to the Hall of the Tower immediately, and they chose to keep the prophecy a secret. They were the only two women present when Gitara Moroso (the blind Aes Sedai mentioned previously) uttered the prophecy that the Dragon had been reborn into the world, so nobody else realizes that they've entered the endgame for the world. If they revealed their mission now, they would likely be put before the judgment of the Sitters (the ladies seated in this episode) and tried for treason, and if they are convicted, they would be Stilled (female version of Gentling) and imprisoned or executed for putting the entire world at risk. The Tower expects to guide/manipulate the Dragon since they think they're experts at prophecy, so to let the Dragon Reborn just wander around on their own is basically heresy.
I’d say the last sentence is the thing. The rest is book lore but it’s pretty clear in both versions that the Tower would want to control the Dragon and Moiraine and Siuan aren’t bringing them into the loop
A few people are still confused. The darkness in Mat was not Saidin. Saidin is the corrupted male half of the One Power, what Logan was channeling. It's not inherently evil, just tainted by the Dark One's touch. What was in Mat was Mashadar, the evil of Shader Logoth. the same shadow entity that chased them out of the city. About what happens to Mat at the end. I don't think you should read too much into it. They had time to shoot 6 episodes (season 1 is 8 episodes long) before Covid restrictions hit. So they took a break and did some post-production and special effects on the episodes they already had. Someone said (might been on Reddit) that the VFX-team also got hit bad by Covid. Then once restrictions lifted, or at least when they were allowed to return to keep recording, the guy who play Mat (Barney Harris) was no longer with them. The first thing people heard about it was that they had re-cast the role of Mat with a new actor (Dónal Finn) and no one seems to know why. The team have kept quiet about any reason for it, both the producers and the other actors, and Barney himself has apparently deleted all his social media. So there will be very little about Mat in the remaining two episodes. Unless there are some short parts that they had already taped. But considering how it seemed they re-used the same shot of Mat looking to the right twice (once as he looks to Perrin and again once as the doorway close) I think they were struggling to just find a way to cut his character out of the loop so they didn't have to delay further to get the new actor in mid-season.
ugh only 8 episodes they already made me mad I need at least 13 a season I'm already mad at Amazon cause they canceled the Expanse and are only giving us 6 episodes.
They're not playing the long game, they're ruining the story as fast as possible. If this show makes it to season 3, it will only be because Amazon doesn't care if anyone watches it.

He's a HUGE fan of the books as well as a subscriber and regular viewer. I never miss your Wheel of Time and Lucifer reviews so I will see it as well. And if he doesn't answer, I'll hide his gaming mouse until he does!
Please, please watch Sandman when it comes out. I have been in love with that comic series since it came out. (Yeah, I'm THAT old.) I simply must see you react when Morpheus goes to Hell for his helmet.

My gf: Look at those big naturals.
Me: No way. Not on this show.
My gf: Rewind it.
Me: Okayyyy. Yup. I stand corrected. Thank you.
The Brown sisters are scholars. The White sisters are philosophers.
FYI The actor that plays Mat quit unexpectedly during the shooting of this ep and they recast him for season 2.
He didn't quit during the shooting of the episode. They took a break from filming after episode 6 due to covid and he left during that time.
Spoilers: The whites and browns are...
philosophers (whites), and librarians (brown).
not spoilers hun. Already explained in the x-rays
@@amisedai942 Well for the ones who didn't read the extras. 👍
@@thetiredtrademarkseal haha. So funny how careful some of us are and others are just word vomit spoilers exorcist style. Haha! I appreciate you. 🥰😁👏
ugh only 8 episodes they already made me mad I need at least 13 a season I'm already mad at Amazon cause they canceled the Expanse and are only giving us 6 episodes.
First, baby!
They're not playing the long game, they're ruining the story as fast as possible. If this show makes it to season 3, it will only be because Amazon doesn't care if anyone watches it.
As in the characters...have been playing the long game. Smh yall book readers are something else. Take a deep breath and enjoy the ride.
