Rand's mom was indeed a badass. Crazy thing is, she wasn't even that strong by Aiel standards. Being that badass is normal for them. Some of the women you'll see later are _bad_ bad.

Been very disappointed in the show so far, but god dam they captured just how good the Aiel are in battle compared to the main continent

@@technopirate304 this is a Warrior Race that fights or trains every single day, we can't imagine any modern women going through that and doing such a thing but who could say what someone could or could not do at Peak physical fitness along with what I am assuming is considerable amounts of adrenaline? Plus I read a lot of stories of Miracles humans have performed in Crazy situations that defy our understanding, so I still think this is quite possible.

Most people could not run all day and then fight a battle like the Aiel are capable of in WoT. There are people that can run all day at least. I don't know what kind of fighting shape a super marathon runner would be in after that but it seems impossible to me just to run that long. She is in labor so that does ramp up the difficulty level considerably but most people do not know what they are capable of until they are forced into a situation.
@@technopirate304 I'd say what till the show gives you a glimpse at Aiel culture and their daily grind. Your disbelief may not be so suspended after that :p

You can definitely see the inspirations this series had on Dragon Age, and I love it. I’ve been rereading the books thanks to the tv series and have become very conscious of the similarities and how dragon age made them their own.

Who says those soldiers were attacking the Aiel (Rand's mom)? You sure it wasn't the other way around? 😜
The Aiel were attacking Tar Valon (the White Tower). This was during the Aiel War and the place is Dragonmount which is basically opposite the White Tower. Rand was born in the same place Lews Therin died.

She is not going to fuck that thing up. The entirety of the white tower working together probably couldn't do the job. The fact that she stopped it in its tracks for so long is a seriously impressive feat, though. It's a a very good thing for her that Lan managed to grab her before it broke through.

I don’t think it is presumptuous for Nynaeve to think Padan Fain died. She must have gone back to the village to learn that the four had left with Moiraine. Padan Fain walked away during the battle and may not have returned, leaving behind his wagon and horses. Given the fact the Trollocs eat their victims, most people probably figured he was killed and eaten. It also should be physically impossible for him to have reached Fal Dara so quickly.
Extremely satisfying episode for me, finally the guessing game,"who is the dragon" is over, now the writers can concentrate on important things.

I understand why Rand's mom pulled her veil down but I don't like that she did it
Yeah they are pretty quick to veil up when needed. But I don't think in this particular moment she cared to much. She can always pay Toh later. She may not be Aiel, but she became one and she wouldn't do anything disrespectful on purpose.
My justification for the mask issue was that she was marking herself as a non-combatant and from that moment on she was operating in outraged self-defense against the tree killers. Besides the facial reactions are so meaningful.
Let me guess-this lady hasn't read the books, but she loves the "show". That correct?
