Great War Redux suffers from too much scripted peace deals and scripts in general, it's impossible not to break shit when there are this many scripted events
It's honestly easy to get around if you know all of them and you can make some batshit crazy endings, it's hilarious.
When you said you'd do Byz again, this wasn't entirely what I expected the outcome to be.

small correction to the history lesson, the Greeks got to Thessaloniki first with the Ottomans surrendering to them 9 November (27 October Old Calendar). The Bulgarians arrived a day later after learning of Greece taking the city.

9:32 actually, the Greek army entered the City first, because the Greek prime minister, Elefterios Venizelos, pressured the King to move against the city first and the Bulgarians entered a day after

Hey, Bittersteel, hope you see this. If you hand Dobruja to the Romanians they won't interfere in the Second Balkan War and also there was a way (via focus/decision) to sign a non-aggression pact with the Ottomans, leaving you with just Serbia and Greece as enemies. Despite losing Dobruja, I think this could be an interesting alt history path.
He could've gotten it back by letting Romania cap out to the Central Powers and then taking Dobruja afterwards (because Germany then occupies it)

the bug with the ottomans explains so much. I played a game as Bulgaria last week with just the goal to beat the 2nd Balkan War which ended up dragging into an alternate WW1. In the end, i won the 2nd balkan war, but lost the Great War, but still ended up with some pretty good borders

I was playing Bulgaria in this mod yesterday. I finished the second Balkan war in 1916 because Serbia and Montenegro became fortresses

Tip for the devs of the mod. Of course there are the obvious ones as to fix the ottoman peace event and greece thing and such. But what would be nice would really be an interwar/after war part, and the demobilisation being more like half your mills go into civs thing or so, and smack some debuffs in there but let people try to continue after, this thing just kills any reason to play further not by choice but by default
To continue playing you need during the event where they surrender and before the end of the fight justify war goals to use then at the end then denounce the truce and continue to play

I just did a playthrough! I was stuck in the Balkan war in a two year stalemate because the otoomans had too many groops and we only pushed to thrace lol
Make 20 wif + shovels that hold the position.
Then you can improve them with a support artelerie.
If you can afford it, you can later add an artelerie to the frontline division, which is more than enough.
Cas is King is the only thing that counts
Shock troops never more than 3 artelerie, otherwise the maximum damage they can do and the costs will only get worse.
The whitepeace bug ruined a run for me and i didnt know it was a bug back then

A bit of correction in regard to the pre-lute to second balkan war: The greeks got to Thessaloniki first before the Bulgarians and took the city, to the frustrations of the Bulgarians. There were multiple reasons Serbia did not honor there agreement with Bulargia, the main one was they were pressured to release Albania by the great powers as you mentionen. What contributed however, was the Bulgarians did not offer their support to the Serbians during the negotiations around Albania. Greece and Serbia entered an Alliance against Bulgaria, since bulgaria had ambitions towards both nations. Bulgaria had a similar agreement with Romania, which Serbia had with Bulgaria in regard to distribution of land. However Bulgaria did not honor that agreement, which was one of the reason Romania decided to join.

Just checked, Lone Liberators of the Balkans focus is currently broken. To activate it you have to first click the historical option for the first Serbian negotiation over Macedonia. Then you cancel the negotiations at the second negotiation stage, refusing to negotiate at all will lock you out of your political Balkan focuses tree. Now currently it is true the Ottomans won’t offer a white peace even when you take all of their European territories including Constantinople. I still managed to defeat them on June 8, 1914, one month before the July crisis and the events leading to The Great War. However I was locked out of my Balkan Political Focuses again. I couldn’t progress down the tree to make Byzantium at all. Not to mention Austria-Hungry will declare war on you if you refuse to make Albania independent.

Quick history correction Greek troop entered Thessaloniki hours before the Bulgarians and claimed it as part of the "first come first served" agreements for the territory every nation eas going to annex

thing is, you do not need to OWN albaina to form byzantium. get a justification on them and greece before joining the entente, then declare, also dont use the reclaim tsargrad justification fuocus until AFTER they have been whitepeaced, idk if this will work after an update or if you are going to play this again, but I hope this helps.

9:50, they should have just all sent back ultimatum to Austria, demanding it to give Bosnia to Serbia, or it's war, Austria started it it with Serbia and Albania, so it wouldn't get any sympathies from other great powers and it would be smashed by balkan league on its own if it refused and i already see Romania jumping in there on balkan league side
