as a Dane, we actually surrendered sooner, but faulty telephone lines meant that part of the army didnt get the message and kept fighting. I also see this as an absoloute win.

When Denmark and Italy and Sweden have a better tree than Germany, Britain and Japan now as well as France.
It's funny because Paradox is a Swedish country and they made better content for Denmark in multiple games than other nations like Japan and France

@@syncthedingus1306 The Finnish Monarchist Route is pretty disappointing since it's just the default historical route but with 1 extra focus. Their King is insanely good though so it's still an improvement over the default historical route.
But otherwise yeah, the Monarchist routes are amazing.
I appreciate the attempts at pronouncing local names and words. Sometimes you nail them, sometimes not but i always appreciate the effort trying the same amount.

Denmark, 1939 probably, the "army" was hunting a white deer for the King. Meanwhile the government was surrendering to the Germans after 6 hours of intense verbal fighting.
Lego was invented in 1967 so no and we destroyed 36 armor with antitank guns ao no to that to

I'm loving the DLC, but ngl as a newer player, those huge focus trees are kinda scary to get into. Kinda hard knowing what paths work for what without watching (excellent) vids like yours when that's the case.
I actually enjoy the default trees better sometimes, like for Spain and Turkey.
You can deactivate dlcs if you want, although this makes the game nigh unplayable
the dlcs ruined greece and turkey and spain and italy for me. formerly some of my favorite nations to play.

lots of 35 days focus this DLC, I like it, paradox is slowly but surely learning
I noticed that the enemy ai now allways stacks the players front and leaves other fronts wide open.
Had germany doing barbaross while i was beeing in a faction with russia as commy italy. Stacked frontline on my side, couldnt move an inch out, stalin was in berlin in 8 month. 😂
Just to let people know why Denmark surendered so quickly. It wasn't due to the military giving up, even though they were severely outnumbered and out gunned.
No, the reason is that only moments after the invasion started, the German ambassador Cecil von Renthe-Fink, met with the Danish government, and told them that if they didn't surrender immediately, then Germany would unleash it's bombers on Copenhagen. When they not long after heard the roar of the Luftwaffe planes over the city they knew the threat was real, and remembered what had happened to Warsaw, Poland not long ago.The invasion started at 3:55 in the morning april 9th 1940, the government called for ceasefire at 6:00, the last military action took place at 8:15, and the government officially capitulated at 8:34.

Every time I try this I can't get Navel Supremacy and the invasion of Norway just sits in my docks.
Maybe they want you to go Sweden first. It takes some luck to get past the Norwegian navy in my experience.

I somehow cant get the naval invasion on Norway. wasnt it that on the first day of the war that you can invade because the ai has their navy in the ports?
iirc it depends on the AI. I've had the same issue myself with other instances, like invading UK as Germany right after declaring war.

Denmark was the first AAT playthrough i did and it went ridiculously easy. Also getting England as a core just immediately removes the manpower worries.

as a Dane, i gotta add that we surrendered so quickly bc we knew that we couldn't defend against the massive german army, a lot of lives would've been wasted if we tried to fight until defeat, instead we opted for more lives saved
it's really funny how on historical, no matter who attacks Denmark, they immediately surrender. maybe you can even get a danish puppet as Paraguay

Did a run on Denmark last night. I did the fort side of the branch and it does fix the economy crisis.
Was able to build forts on the German border to 7 and used the focus and decisions to bring it to 10.
Germany didn't declare war on me right away, and won the war with a couple land gain with it.
Appreciate the guides. Once you have gone thru this new DLC, would be nice to see some of the majors revisited with the new changes. Thanks again.

I really enjoyed playing Denmark with the new DLC, them and Finland are the most fun to play imo

Combat Width Meta changed all over again with this DLC so nobody really knows the best combat widths atm.
15w seems good for a front line unit, 21 still very viable. 30 is my preferred assault unit, because it's good in forests, which is the majority of tiles in Europe
you can just get free puppets if finland and the baltics with the focus "offer protection". With their armies you can just beat norway and sweden normally and easier. And the whole spike in world tensions with finland and the hope they dont get guaranteed is not needed. You can also integrate finland via decision for nordic formable, they thought of everything.

for some reason through multiple games in a row i cant get the naval invasion on norway off, does anyone know why?
Just loosely followed this strategy in my first Denmark game. I didn't rush building ships, but I declared on Norway as soon as focus finished and only had about 35%, maybe the ai logic changed slightly, not sure how I can pull this off now.
I recently played Norway and was going well till Finland declared the second winter war and joined the axis meaning I was facing Germany on 2 fronts so when I left that campaign I only had island left 😅
As México it's really easy to get good marines, I recently did a run as a Special Forces México, pretty good i'd say marine and Paratropper are the easiest to come by and Mountaineers the hardest but the improved recon on Mountaineers is pretty worth it

With Finland, you can just offer them protection via the decision that you get from doing the focus. Instead of invading them, it changes Secure our Eastern front from a war goal into a decision to annex Finland outright gaining all of their units. From experience Finland usually accepts Danish protection.

A better way to do the navy cheese is to put the finished below the new one and assign all the docks to the new one and while your navy is training they will get damaged and repair it will take it feom the old production line and add it to the new production line

Denmark did have a weapons industry, Dansk Rekyl Riffel Syndikat A/S made the madsen light machine gun. We also made 20 MM aa guns other small arms.
Does anyone also have that issue with a "Cold war" achievement that after capitulating UK as Iceland you doesn't get an achievement?

I've only had the game a few days but Denmark has been my first real play through. I don't remember the focus tree being that large though. Is there a DLC that is adding a lot more options to it?
Arms against tyranny is the newest Hoi4 expansion, adding non-generic focus trees to Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and Norway.
If you're on base game still, I recommend either buying the DLCs on sale, or getting the Paradox Subscription.
Also, I believe Finland's historical focus tree from AAT was added to the base game.

I really don't know why Paradox doesn't make it a priority to fix issues like, oh, the German Reich still somehow existing after the war after being completely steamrolled. I know it's a side-effect of the whole peace deal process, but I feel like that's a *really major* oversight that they really need to fix somehow.

i did the mil industri cuz when i was done with the politics it was late 1938 and i have this trick where i sell ALL my equipment to boost my industry and later i can just buy what i lost or if you dont have all that many men to equip you prob wont need to

do you even get cores on england if you restore the north sea? it only says it gives you cores on denmark and norway in the blurb text, and that would make sense (why would england suddenly have no resistance to their new danish king overlords? the english aren't exactly known to love the north sea union)

Unless they changed it last minute I thought they showed that pioneers and engineers weren't mutually exclusive but could be stacked before the DLC dropped.
I don't know about engineers and pioneers, but I do know that rangers and recon companies cancel each other out. It makes sense that a similar rule would apply to pioneers/engineers.

I don't know what they changed but it seems impossible to get naval supremacy now, I had to build ships untill 1939 at which point invasion was impossible

Brazil will have the biggest focus tree in the game while Germany lacks a communist path and Japan lacks a generally good focus tree

Have been wondering do space marines still work in HOI? And would 6 infantry, 1 tank (ideally heavy), 2 artillery also work as a template? Or would it be too expensive for most countries?
7-2s haven't really worked since No Step Back changed combat width.
Also, they to work, but you use the light tank engineers division and then turn your light tank into a brick with no speed using the tank designer (you don't need the speed given you're using space marines).
Edit: To clarify what I mean by brick is that I mean you just fill it with armor. Firepower is unnecessary.

Also, no, you're not seeing 20 widths. You're seeing 18 or 21 widths. I know you like round numbers, but unfortunately, this matters a lot.
For pushing it was 41 to 44 widths that would work. There was a whole graph.
Though with some new changes I saw bitt3rsteel in another comment mention 15, 21, and 30.
@@buddermonger2000 Okay thanks so you could go 8 - 1 - 1 and then max armor and maybe let anti air take care of the penetration? Or would you still recommend a more penetration gun? Because then you could conceivable go for a more soft attack gun on the tank right? Even maybe so far as going armored artillery instead if that has enough hardness to bot be penetrated. Haven't played in a long while so my knowledge mainly coming from video's so sorry if some of my questions are basic. Thinking of playing again.
@Hyde_Hill So, what you actually want to do is use the light tanks in a support company slot. There are the flame tank engineers as well as the light tank recon, though the flame tanks are generally seen as more optimal. Honestly, normal artillery should get you enough piercing. If not, just use AA.
The gun really is unimportant, and you'd probably be better served lowering the production cost of the tank instead of focusing on the turret.
