Much appreciated bro. Did this fix, and DID NOT DELETE the code, and sure enough the engine light eventually went off. YOU DA MAN!! This should last longer then replacing the line itself because this Arizona heat is what probably cause the original to crack. Fuel line will not crack!!
Thanks again bro!!
I am very happy this video has helped you out. Shows me that I am doing a great job. Please if you haven’t already smash that sub button come grow with toughbuilds customs
Thanks for this! I was having trouble with that white clip as well and this helped.
Hey what’s up. Just to let you know I watched this video and I fixed my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee from your video. Same problem including the fuel line. I am NO mechanic. But the check engine light went off just like you said. Ty. I did EXACTLY what you did and I worked
No problem, I am happy that you fix the Jeep that line is so easy to break but now you should be okay.
Great video- had the P0455 code and took a quick look after watching this. same piece was broke off in the same spot, and took me 15 mins to replace after going to the O'Reily down the street and grabbing the part and a small piece of tubes/clamps
Thanks for the tutorial. However, the hose was not broken on my 2014 JGC. I did get a chuckle out of seeing that we both drive the same vehicles, including the 2015 Hyundai Sonata Sport. Mine is white also.
Thanks for posting this! The video was exactly what I needed. The valve probably did not need replacement. The crack in the tube was probably what caused the p0456 code. Good idea to use the 5/8 inch tubing, I am going to do the same for the crack I found. Also, the code will not clear until you drive it for a while.
100% you have to drive it for awhile or the code won’t clear. Thank you if you can please make sure to smash the sub button as I am trying to hit 2k within the next few months
Man this helped me out a lot with that broken purge hose I put self binding tape and called it a day but that fuel line trick is going to be the. We permanent fix. Thanks
You should also add to your videos name the Durangos because it’s the same setup and also on the hashtag how to fix purge hose because I’m pretty sure a lot of people broke it just trying to take that thing apart. That would help people more easily find your video and you will have more likes and views. Keep up the good work 👍
I am happy it helped you out brotha the hose is way better more stronger as well.
Life saver video, man! Thanks...
No problem I’m glad my video helped.
Heck yeah thanks for the help
No problem buddy. If you haven't yet smashed that subscribe button don't forget to do so more awesome content will be coming. You already did I appreciate your support and always remember if it ain't enough it's not worth building.
I noticed this line broken on mine the other day when I was doing the coolant change. Wasn't sure if I broke then, back when I did the spark plugs, or if it's just a questionable design prone to breaking (or combination lol)
Will have to do this fix in a few days, along with that Esim since it's seems to literally pop up in the code readouts
I've been watching your videos for awhile now, and love the content and help you give. I would love to enter the giveaway, but also help out on future content as well. I would like to give you some money so you can buy your next part. If you can DM me, we can talk more about it. Keep up the good work, and don't loose your passion, knowledge, and inspiration into cars.
I currently have this issue. There is electrical tape already on that piece u clamped. I went to dealer for a diagnostic and they are saying it needs a evap hose from purge valve to the fuel tank. But I don’t know where that hose is at
Awesome video man- just checked and my hose is cracked👍. Quick question- is there a reason you replaced the purge valve instead of just patching the hose?
My purge Failed so had to replace it I was like I might as well do it.
Have a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee purge valve hose had holes end thew wend not to the valve was hanging. Can not figure out where this goes. Help
I had same cracked line! Your video was a life saver. It’s been about a year and code just popped back up. Evap and also says small leak. No cracked lines that I can see by soapy water test. Would this be the purge valve this time?
Yes this time it could. Be the purge vavle they are easy to test I did a video on how to test those little guys
Wish I would of seen this before I ordered the hose assembly from Amazon for 33 bucks. My fault the hose broke- didn't align the stupid plastic engine cover just right. It was night and I was in a hurry and when I hit the top of the cover to knock it in place, it hit the hose instead. Didn't take much to break it either.
I wish I could have saved you money well you return it and just do what I did either way it's a good fix. Thank you for watching it.
I’ve got the same issue right now. What’s the name of that hose that’s snapped ? I’d rather replace the entire use then use the fuel line like you did. Thanks
Genuine Mopar Purge Hose
Is it normal for it to tick so loud? Mine settles eventually, but boy is it loud on start up, especially with the plastic engine cover off.
Yes, That is your injectors your hearing completely normal.
Heck yeah great video! Dealer was trynna screw my girl on $1k for the purge valve and oil sensor. No way the parts are $150 all in lol.
No way man. Dealer would try anything to get money out of you. Most of the that charge is labor I would tell them to shove it and walk away I am happy my video is helping people out there.
Mine was same just replaced it
hey i have a jeep choerkee 2015 that has an issue with the brake, something is broken, but i cannot find what the name of the part is, it is in the similar position of what you are showing in the video, i have pics, i dont know if i can send it to you somehow and you can tell me what the name is please
Yes,email them to crazymustanggtman@gmail.com. I’ll take a look at it for you.
Part number by chance?
Did your engine light go off?
Yes sir it did.
How would you know if your purge valve failed the same code is poppin up on minds I already put a Fuel Vapor Leak Detection Pump in 2 weeks later the code pop right back up
You would have to take off your purge vavle and if you vape then great use the smoke and blow into the side where your pig tail goes into and if it comes out of the other end you got a bad valve. If not it could be your charcoal canister.
@@TOUGHBUILDSCUSTOMS ok appreciate it
Np I am happy to help anything else please sub to my channel and follow me on Instagram for further questions
Is this located in a similar spot in a regular jeep Cherokee/2015?
Same motor same location, Not sure if your jeep has the same motor or not. Yes they will have the same placement no matter what Cherokee it is.
@@TOUGHBUILDSCUSTOMS sweet. Thank you! I appreciate it.
@@donmeyers2631 Np, Thank you for your view please make sure you smash that sub button helps me grow and could help you out again in the future.
@@TOUGHBUILDSCUSTOMS i got you. Ill subscribe!
@@donmeyers2631 Thank's again bud.
why did you replace the purge valve assy??? Not necessary
Purge valve was a bad that’s why I replaced it. Wouldn’t replace it for nothing.
How do you change the fuel filter? Where is the fuel filter located? Thx.
The 2015 jeep grand cherokee doesnt have a fuel filter. Unless it's diesel other then that the filter is built in the tank on the fuel pump so you would have to get a new fuel pump.
@@TOUGHBUILDSCUSTOMS by any chance, do you know what causes a c1082 code to appear. Thanks.
@@PumpkinHead440 What's the year of yours and motor
@@TOUGHBUILDSCUSTOMS it’s a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Loredo 3.6.
@@PumpkinHead440 Is that code is for vacuum pressure. So it can be one of the vacuum sensors has a short circuit. It could be short to ground. You can try. Turn on the ignition, remove your vacuum pressure sensor from the booster, connect a vacuum pump to your vacuum pressure sensor, apply vacuum to the vacuum pressure sensor and watch for signal change. See if it drops below 2psi.
Is this fix still working or did you end up replacing the entire hose? I have the same issue on my 2015 JGC Overland. Thought about replacing the entire hose since I can buy it new for $30 instead of doing a temporary fix like this. Part number 68189075AE
Yes, sir it still works great. No need to spend $30 when you can spend $4 and get a fuel line.
@@TOUGHBUILDSCUSTOMS It worked for 9 months but now the light is back. It's not the line there is no crack. Trying to get the purge valve off but can't get the line off that back nipple. Did you just pull to get it off? I feel like I'm going to break the line.
Did it come off? I’m having the same issue right now it’s almost like it’s not meant to come off
Did it come off? I’m having the same issue right now it’s almost like it’s not meant to come off
The back one won’t come off the purge valve you when you buy the new one it comes with that back line now on that part there should be two clips the you push in but it’s hard to do so might as well just leave it and put the new one on.
Are you sure it’s 5/8?
100 percent. If yours isn't there something wrong.
You're making me re-watch the video that's okay because that's why you guys are here. To correct my wrongs.
What is the exact size of the fuel line?
I tried buying 5/8 at the local auto zone it’s too big I’ll probably would’ve have to do 1/4.
Great!! But why didnt u show how to take off the stupid clips holding the line..
What clip. Are you talking about the pigtail wire. Or the one holding the purge valve?
@@TOUGHBUILDSCUSTOMS the one holding the hose the white one was really tough I almost broke it trying to get it out. But the whole video was great man i added a piece of hose with some hose clamps. Thank u
@@manuelvargas9355 Np man. Like what you see please don't forget to smash that sub button.
Make your video shorter to the point stop talking so much quick to the point we don’t need 11 minute video for a three minute fix. Otherwise it’s a good video.
lol all my talking is telling you how to do the job thanks for the view dude.
Its just a waste of time get to the point quickly you’ll get more views instead people will fast forward to get to the point. Just giving some advice i shortened my videos for that reason i was annoyed but how long people talked wasting time when someone in under a vehicle trying to get to the part they need but its filled with long talks about nothing
@mrbungle6visix As a Filmer you start to know how many people are inpatient that is, what’s wrong with this world. Usually watch the video at night before you do the project. A lot of what I said in this video is good information. So no it is not a waste of time. Patience is the key to success. Inpatient you never get what you want. Yes getting to the point is just as easy as watching the whole video. Sorry you found my video boring or a waste of time. Thank you for your view and your comments.
3 seconds. bye
Later lol.
