    I live in MN and we get just as much snow if not more. I found having traction control on in my e92 m3 made it much easier to drive rather than constantly having to modulate the throttle, especially from stoplights. I only ever turned it off when going up very steep hills where it could slow my momentum from it cutting power. I would give having it on or at least mdm mode a try for a day.

    • @TommyLGarage
      @TommyLGarage  3 роки тому +7

      But traction off is so much more fun!

    • @matisko97
      @matisko97 2 роки тому

      @@TommyLGarage yeah but no for unskilled drivers, if you notice traction control is cutting too much power just push accelerator pedal all the way and wait, this basically means you give right to control unit to use 100% of car potential. It is even more refined in premium german or japan cars, but of course everybody should practice before stressful situation occurs. Traction control in most modern or premium cars do better than human because it is programmed by high qualified people based on tests and researches, there are many sensors that calculates every possible condition thousands times each second you drive. Every manufacturer have slightly different assistant configurations. I hope this informations helped. Anyways good video, I appreciate your work.

    DON'T turn the dsc completely off, the car is way better at calculating the traction and adjusts the throttle immediately. I know this from experience because when I drive my f30 3 series in Dsc traction mode the rear slips a lot when driving from a standstill but with traction fully on it eliminates almost all of the slip. It's a bold claim to say that you can correct the slip better than the car when it calculates the traction 500 times a second.

    Great, but one missing dimension: go to square size and decrease tire width and weight, while retaining diameter.
    For example, for 2018 BMW M3 Competition Package:
    Go from:
    265/30-20 94Y XL 24 lbs 9.4" 26.3"
    285/30-20 99Y XL 27 lbs 9.9" 26.8"
    To:
    NOKIAN HAKKAPELIITTA R3
    225/40R19 93T XL 24 lbs 8.6" 26.1"
