M4 has LSD differential. It is far superior to this BMW in the video. It handles much better in the snow. I would never drive a rear-wheel drive car in the snow.

DON'T turn the dsc completely off, the car is way better at calculating the traction and adjusts the throttle immediately. I know this from experience because when I drive my f30 3 series in Dsc traction mode the rear slips a lot when driving from a standstill but with traction fully on it eliminates almost all of the slip. It's a bold claim to say that you can correct the slip better than the car when it calculates the traction 500 times a second.
Drove my manual e92 m3 through 4 winters in ontario canada. Never got stuck once even in blizzards. Good winter tires and being a good driver are all you need.
I love how you have a Volvo which is more than capable to conquer these conditions, and you still choose to drive the M3. Great video, and beautiful cars!
I live in MN and we get just as much snow if not more. I found having traction control on in my e92 m3 made it much easier to drive rather than constantly having to modulate the throttle, especially from stoplights. I only ever turned it off when going up very steep hills where it could slow my momentum from it cutting power. I would give having it on or at least mdm mode a try for a day.

It is even more refined in premium german or japan cars, but of course everybody should practice before stressful situation occurs. Traction control in most modern or premium cars do better than human because it is programmed by high qualified people based on tests and researches, there are many sensors that calculates every possible condition thousands times each second you drive. Every manufacturer have slightly different assistant configurations. I hope this informations helped. Anyways good video, I appreciate your work.
I had a E46 M3 and a E90 M3 and always started with 2nd gear when driving in snow. Always a fun time in winter driving lol. Now I have a GR Supra and its in the garage and bought a Subaru for daily driving for winter.
Just noticed again how classy the wing mirrors look in same Yas Marina. I too swapped back my CF mirror caps to the original mineral white. I wouldn't dare take my M4 in any bit of snow! Hats off to your bravery lol
Starting in second gear is extremely helpful, and you always want to be in the highest gear possible for the least amount of torque. You were revving going up hill in first gear lmao. Also tbh I leave traction control on in the snow most of the time though my 335d has an open diff
I drove an E82 on 205 winter tires, & now 225 all seasons. The all season tire is far superior in every way & has lots of grip in snow. The skinny 205s were great for drifting though

Studded snow tires would be the best! even some good regular snow tires helps. it doesn't seem like you have very good tires. I had snows on my RWD camaro and I remember passing people in SUVs stuck on hills. But I don't recommend taking off the traction/stability control because I did that and I hit a patch of ice and crashed into a sign!
I think the problem is from ur tires or from the car its self i think it is imported from warm countries , cause i have seen many guys haven't faced any problem in winter so idk 🤷♂️
Can putting my summer tires on the trunk work ? Not sure how heavy 4 of them are or at least 2 of them in the trunk but I think its heavy enough to weigh down the back area of the car. Curious if tires are better or sandbag for weight.
What type of snows do u have on in this vid? My driveway is a steeper uphill gradient and I have never had an issue getting stuck even in a few inches of snow with my blizzaks and nothing in my trunk.

On that mount you have for MagSafe I built the same one but can’t seem to get it to stick on the plastic so I’m a try to do what you did and hook it up next to the climate control area but what’s that mount you used ? Please dont tell people to turn TC off. Or atleast tell them about the risks surrounding it. Its dangerous for the everyday driver and it can save lifes. It's not just a feature which ruins the fun. There are many occasions in which it stabalises the car and prevents incidents. If you want to have fun then sure, turn it off but remember - it always has risks, so be carefull !

The real problem starts with more snow like 10cm+.. I experienced times when it snowed half a meter of snow so only way to get from my home was on quad... But fr it's not funny to Drive quad in -20°C... Btw cars were stuck at home for a week.
I have drove A4 S line Quattro for many years, then i changed to M3, but I actually changed my mind already, wish i never done it! with Quattro you never get these issues!

Another good advice is to have the fuel tank full when driving in the snow, it ads a lot of weight on the rear because of it’s possition

You are right but my car cannot fit 17 inch wheels. 18 is a minimum.
First time for me trying to drive a RWD sports car in the snow. 2023 Camaro SS with just all season tires.

Well..hold on a second. 330i will NOT have limited slip, so you will have significantly less traction, sine only one wheel will be spinning
