RWD + reasonable amount of snow+ winter tire+a good driver, is the formula of happiness.
Exactly. Chose to drive my 335is this winter it is so much fun when it snows and works perfectly fine.
Step 3 new front bumper
Or just buy an audi with quattro system
@@danielstanciu9830 yes...and going to retire...;)
And it is also very safe, because it is the sloooowest possible movement :D Keep that asphalt beast in a garage, get an old subaru and enjoy the winter.
*winter begins*
BMW Drivers: Aight ima head out drifting that damn thing :D
Other drivers: Aight im gonna go look for BMW drivers to pull out of a ditch xd
150hp bmw on snow is 300hp :d
@@owner549Once I tried to do this with dad's old Mercedes G AWD and closed differentials. I failed miserable. Afterwards my dad told me that tyres are 15 years old... and yes, rubber was hard like stone. Good tyres are the key.
50/50 Weight is 50/50 weight for a reason.
to be fair i have a 2nd bmw only for drifting in the winter
Don't let this go unnoticed. This guy decided to clean the emblems on the front of the car but not the headlights.

Bmw drivers in a nutshell
He's Romanian. They go crazy for brands...
He needs to show off. He doesn't care about safety more than he cares about the brand :))
@@erce1000 i'm romanian and i agree.this country is full with douchbags, we call them here Cocalari
@@User556q I'm Romanian and I also agree. You guys can't tell the difference between a joke and real life. But hey, being a Romanian I know that it's easier to offend than to actually have a polite conversation.
My Tip is:
Get Sliks and floor it every time
It's probably the safest way. I hardly imagine that it will move at all. Reaching 10kph would a miracle.
I bims
IBimsDaDomDom hahaha
Lol if you like doing burnouts. Or I should say "iceouts"
Lol I had Bridgestone Potenza re050a summer tires on my 350z nismo and my car wouldn't even budge with half an inch of snow. After 2 100lb sand bags in the rear and Bridgestone Blizzaks, the 1 ft of snow was no problem.
Tipps for drifting In the winter:
Be aware of curbs!! Most of the times you won’t see them!
Just a mental fellow
definitely! Or you need small wheels/big tyres..
Dark Angel it’s depends on the driver trucks can get stuck to the rear of the truck is light u need sandbags to lay it down to put weight on it u still need to go slow but you’ll be fine
Absolutely! I found it the hard way when my RWD Charger was stuck on the curb. Arrggh!
About tip #3, a 4wd/awd car with summer tyres is less grippy than a rwd with proper winter tyres, so winter tyres are a must no matter what car you drive
Especially if you also want to brake
what's also great about drifting in winter: tires don't get used up that much :D
Excellent video Paul - common sense. Having just come back from Stockholm and I have a LBB manual M2 - its great to see you enjoying the same car in beautiful Sweden! Lee
Lee B what about spike tyres. I heard it is also legal in Sweden
I intentionally go out with my bmw when theres lots of snow. it is so much fun.
I had a buddy who daily drove his 2009 Honda S2000 in NYC (winters can suck) and he swore that Blizzaks were the best winter tire ever made for anyone that is curious! - This was a GREAT video my man! thank you!
Can't wait for winter now. Nice video man! :)
drifting in the snow isn't much fun with this car to me, drifting in RAIN is where it's at. Nice video!
Canadian : "LMAO Where is this vid from?"
"Stockholm"
Canadian : "Ok, then."
Watching you use that brush to clear the snow off your hood pained me. Your poor paint! Great tips and love the whole series. Keep it up!
Nice video. I live this type of videos(tips and tricks).
great clip! really liked it! and useful info also! :) big like!
Awesome video man, about to buy my first car. A BMW 325i 2006! This video was really good man :)
Great video quality and very entertaining. And proper color grading too, we can see a proper blue M2 :D
honestly one of the best car videos ive seen in a hot minute
Tip nr 6 - use the narrowest tyres and smallest rim dimension your car supports :) The narrower and higher the tyre is, traction will be better. I daily a E46 and i use 195/65/15 now. In the past i used 225/45/17 and it was awful. Trust me, use smaller wheels and you won’t have problems during winter. And forget about the sandbags in the trunk. These are stories 😂. Sorry for my bad english. Spor !
I'm always skeptical of people that start sentences with 'Trust me' 😁 That's not a good argument when you're trying to convince people of something
But the narrow tires tip is a good one 👍
1 - I started with “tip nr 6”
2 - I’m not trying to convince people, it’s just an advice 🤷🏻♂️
Snow drifting is great for learning how to control the car in a slide. AWD/FWD or AWD do try to get practice handling the car in a slide
Thx man, very fun video and very helpful
subbed ! this channel is awesome
Great video again my man! Very useful tips.
Paul, video request/idea...anyway you can find someone with an M2 Competition and do a direct comparison video between the two cars? I've been waiting for someone to do an actual road test and review of the two cars side by side...0-60, handling, road manners, etc. I know the M2 Competition is supposed to be an all around improvement, but is it really noticeable when compared in the real world? Anyway...just an idea!
I would love that but I cannot seem to find one in Sweden. I've never actually seen one in real life :)) The dealership where I bought mine is considering getting one in the spring. If they don't I will actually take a trip around Europe with my M2 and I will stop at the Museum and rent a Competition from there.
really helpful video thanks for putting ur car through this !
Ending was sick
Thanks I was looking for this info from long time :) From Göteborg
Really enjoyed this one. This has some real good tips!
Back when I was 18 - 19, I had an BMW E36 Compact with bad winter tires. This car does not have any real weight on its back.....this is when you learn how to drive RWD in winter :D Shit was like an adventure.
Super videoul! Tine o tot asa!

First thing to do before the first snow: put the smallest rims that fit your car, with the the tallest but narrowest tires. Winter tires ONLY! For eg. 245/45 R17 winter, not 265/35 R19, like summer usual. After that, its all about skills and fun!
And now you can drop the tire presure a little bit too
@George L I have Audi a6 quattro, had Bmw RWD in the past for 7 years, for me BMW is better: much more dinamic, Audi too heavy on the front nose. If you get in trouble with RWD, buy xDrive.
Get an rs3 is really very good car does 0-100 in just 4. 0 sec and is really cool 😎
Haha thank god you made this video! Got my first car last month and apparently a rwd jaguar with 450 hp and summer tires does not fair well in -10 degrees F and stupid amounts of ice. Who would’ve guessed.
your first car is a rwd Jaguar with 450hp?! how the hell?
Thank you for having fun!
Thank you very much for the 5 tips
Take care buddy
Drive like a volvodriver in the winter? You've never been to sweden... You'll see volvo 740's and 940's drifting all over the place!
No, I've never been to Sweden *checks the license plate* 😁
@@TunedIntoCars haha didn't notice. Then you should know about the Volvos 😂
yeah, almost all rear wheeldrive cars :D. i dont get why someone things its diffucult to drive in snow or ice.. all you need is good tires and don floor it...
Jeppe Nord volvo is for gubberna
volvo drivers in the US barely drive the limit deserve to be tailgated and honked at
Wish we had more snow here. Great video, mate. :-P
Wish we had snow at all haha
exactly what I was looking for, thank you
nice video! love the m2
Leave the traction control on at all times
What you need to do: turn the traction control off
Temporarily disable to get unstuck is what he meant
Great video!
use nearly new spike tires, traction control off, clean your car before heating interior, always heat engine before starting it up, dont drive in grooves, learn to control you car (learn to drift), get used to the traction and remember that it might be worse in different spots for exaple there is more slippery traction where cars slows down or accelerates. these tips from a guy who has driven 2.2L inline 6 manual rwd car about 10 000km in Finnish winter and I dont only drive in a town so I know what i'm talking about :) But those were good tips in the video! But i drift in roads too because i can
Some good tips but in Stockholm there's not a lot of places left where you are allowed to use spiked tires.
@@TunedIntoCars i got my car from stockholm. Okay thats a different thing then. I leave near city so i drive a lot in countryside too and here in finland spiketyres are allowed everywhere. Greetings from Tampere!
Great tips 👍🏼🍻
Great video, I am looking forward for winter test my newly acquired BMW F30 XD
Nice Video. Thanks for sharing.
Every winter in Siberia the weather looks like in your video) Actually i don't have any dificulty to drive on my rwd bmw. I guess i have more fun than other people when drifting))) But i absolutely support your tips
Se vede că ești român frate, baftă în continuare!
Good tips. Thank you
I have an E60 M5 LCI as my summer car and a 545i E60 6-speed manual for winter.
So much fun with winter tires!!
Make videos on ur channel pls
Bravo frumos video 💪

Nice!
hi do you have winter tyres in this video?
As someone who grew up in the german alps and with different BMWs....RWD is King!
Bayeeerrrn :DD BMW Land haha
Nice video! Even if it only snows 3 times per winter in Luxembourg i enjoy watching your videos ! ;)
Btw I got my M2 Lci yesterday but automatic , it's a beast!

All season tires are good on snow but not on ice, right?
Are DSC systems good like year 08-13 or is it just good with the newer vesions
Super tare video-ul
I seem to have much less trouble in snow with my 86, it might be the tire width difference or the weight. Whatever it is, its getting me through this Canadian winter like a champ
Well, I kind of insisted to run stock tire sizes, i.e. 265s at the back :D and unfortunately, yes, the M2 is kinda heavy
But I've had very little issues with the car during winter thought
dobri savjeti druze, pozdrav od M3 drajvera iz BiH 🇧🇦
You should have snow tires on.
Obviously. That's why the car has exactly that...
Tuned Into Cars! What brand? Nokian Tyres, Continental?
Contis, I see
jeff yu you don’t need snow tires...all seasons and good enough in snow
@@claycrawford9009 No. All season is no season. They arent made for the snow like a winter tire is. Winter tires are always better
I have a new AWD (all-wheel drive) car and shall be swapping to winter tyres in November. I hope I shall be able to cope if we have a bad winter.
Thank You very much for 3rd tip! :) First winter with 220HP RWD :) Will be fun!
I was worried until Tip no.5 😁
lovely! have you done anything of rustproofing? Is you car parked outside during winter? general tips to prevent rust during winter. Live in Norway so similar/likewise winter conditions with salted roads.
that's done from the factory. the car has a 10 years warranty against corrosion and rust. what I used to do is wash the car properly after taking it in the snow and that's pretty much it.
Great video! I just bought an e46 318c with RWD, i will use ur tips!
Commoners like us that don't have M cars done have lsd, you can still slide in the snow, it just won't be as good with an open diff 😥
You won’t have much problem in that. It’s power is lower.
since i got the first winter with my newly acquired gt86 ahead, imma take these tips to heart.
edit: since its my first RWD car; ive already got a few winters with FWD cars under my belt.
My first winter I couldn’t afford winter tires for my Pontiac grand am gt, when I got it, it needed a set of tires. Went to the local junkyard and got a set of 3/4s tread hankooks from a same car on rims. Ran me 80$ all together and those tires handled snow and ice so well I took em off and got another used set for summer and rescued them the next year. Never got stuck once and here in pa winter gets pretty shitty
Two Years ago in winter I had a mercedes RWD car. There was one day of skiing where the road conditions were really bad... I drove at like 30 Km per hour not accelerating at all, no steering inputs no breaking and the car went swinging from side to side... I had proper tires on and I really enjoy drifting from time to time. Nevertheless on this day, I decided to not buy a RWD car again. Drifting is fun as long as you do it intentionally. If you just want to commute an AWD is so much more relaxed and you can still drift it in winter.
For me personally it was the best choice👌🏼
welcher ist es nun geworden als Allrad?
that was helpful and fun indeed
Nice tips
Iam Driving an AWD car since last season and its almost too fast and grippy for winter conditions. Iam suprised how it flys through snow where my previous FWD- car would get stuck instantly :)
But that also means that one dy I will get it stuck somewhere no tow- truck will be able to reach :)
Lmao i love how he makes sure he shows the bmw badges.
Can i add that if you do some burnouts or fat skids on the winter tyres the little grooves in the winter tyres get angled as they flex and you’ll have better traction in reverse but way less going forward😂, speaking from experience owning an m2 in winter
you tryed with the second gear to start?
These are tips that should be followed all year round
Put some sandbags in the trunk. Helps ALOT. Also, if you find yourself stuck on a hill. Try to intentionally park towards the side of the road. Usually is a bit more snow on the side and not polished ice. Happy driving! :D
You forgot to add 2 bags of sand bags into your trunk. Back in 2007, I bought winter tires for my 07 350z Nismo, added two 100lb bags into the rear and it gripped like a champ in the snow.
Tip number 6, don't buy RWD where you have snowy winter.
3:05 - and then you find a Toyota Land cruiser with Bull Bar conveniently stopped behind you. :D
I agree with point #5. Having fun in an empty parking lot is important for properly understanding how your car handles in limited traction conditions. I just wish the cops felt the same way about it.
Nice tips, I will take them on board. Especially the fifth one have fun, Its important to enjoy your car in a safe place, Or Just to learn until you have got the skills to take it on track. Or should I say road.
After you're done with this video, checkout 5 Pointless Car Features --> ua-cam.com/video/TcAbfwyiBSc/v-deo.html
I have been doing some research on winter tyres. But I just wondered why you didn’t use spiked tyres. Wouldn’t you recommend this instead? Sorry for the many questions.
Most likely spiked tires work much better with this much snow. But first off I was lucky to capture this on video as there's not usually that much snow around here and second, those tires are not allowed on a lot of streets in Stockholm.
Picking up my M2C tomorrow and this video makes me kind of nervous for this winter. Are you using studded tires? I ordered studded tires myself.
Well you are buying a rear wheel drive car. Of course you should be nervous for the winter :) But saying that, when I filmed this video it was a huge amount of snow and as you could see in the video, even if it had some difficulties on ice, it didn't get stuck.
No, I didn't buy studded tires because they're not allowed on some streets in Stockholm and also because it doesn't really snow that much around here,
Great tips dude, but I think using a plastic brush to clear off stuck ice, may harm your car paint....
Anyway, great video, keep on.
Read the comments below. Not a plastic brush... paint is perfectly fine...
Aahha!!!
So nice...
Wishing you best of luck...
I turn into a BMW driver in the winter with my Volvo S40 T5 AWD :D
What winter tires do you use? Great video btw, I live in a very northern state in the US and get a ton of snow. Hoping my new m2 will be ok.
Here's a free tip: If you are allowed to use studded tires, buy Nokian Hakkapeliitta 10. You will not be dissapointed, best winter tire money can buy and you will be amazed. If not, Hakkapeliitta R3:s.
@@Manakuski I ended up getting continental full snow tires in one size narrower. They worked amazing.
Actually... not a troll video. I expected this to be one :D
Try michelin alpin 6. And also, as a tip i usually start in 2nd gear. And use small amounts of throttle. That seems to work, i have been able to get out of places that fwd drivers were stuck in last winter.
and if its legal where you live, try studded tires.
@@ejss do not do this unless you're literally driving on snow and ice the whole winter. studded tires are terrible for traction on dry pavement in the cold
@@derekschinke2512 so probably in every place they are legal.

How about using the 2nd gear instead of the first ?
My 1 series coupe got stuck in snow at work. First time I've ever had a RWD car. Had to abandon the car and walk home 😞
The first and most important tip is visibility, if it snows or there is snow present put you headlights on. In fact, Sweden is a country where you always need put your headlights on while driving,
