I tried to learn to crochet for years with a simple metal hook, and I just couldn’t do it. I bought a Clover Amour and it was a whole new world! I’m now crocheting a baby blanket! 🤩
What I love about Chandi is I remember there was ONE video in the past where a lot of people said there wasn't enough crochet content and patterns being released and these guys just immediately did something about it. Now you see them releasing more crochet stuff at a much more even amount with the knitting stuff and I love it! And I am not even a crocheter! I appreciate that she really listens, responds, and cares about her EFA followers and customers. I'm loving the crochet respect even though I knit.
For years I used the simple, inexpensive Susan Bates aluminum hooks. Then I fell in love with the rainbow wooden beauty of a set from Knit Picks. Ultimately, I am now using the Furls hooks as my mild arthritis in my hand was not liking the small grip of the other hooks. My favorite of the Furls are the simple wooden ones: lightweight with a shape that did not exacerbate my hand discomfort 😊. The metal ones were too heavy and the resin ones were squeaky and too grabby. The basic streamline wooden ones were just right (do I sound like Goldilocks??) Also, thanks for posting your bloopers, lol. Seeing how much it takes to put together a short video shows you being even more down to earth than we already see on your lives. Your joy in your (and your husband’s) work shines through ❤.
For me the Japanese Etimo Tulip crochets are the most comfortable I have ever used, I can crochet for hours without my hands cramping or feeling tired, they come in a nice case. Expensive but a treat to own.
I’ve spent a lot of money trying new hooks including and entire set of Furls. After all those, I found the Clover Amour and I’ll never need another hook. When I first started crocheting (I’m a knitter) I preferred inline hooks as I needed the steep cut in to grab the yarn. As my skill and speed have increased I prefer a tapered head. You’re adorable! I love the outtakes 😂
Once I found Clover Amour I was in love. I think I have them in nearly every size they offer now. I have the Susan Bates in almost every size as well. I like the light-up ones you showed because I often work with dark/black yarn, seems like it would make it easier to see what I'm doing (here in the PNW where it's dark and rainy so much doesn't help). Loved seeing all the different sets you found.
My first hooks were Boye...I hated using them and almost gave up learning from frustration. Then I got my first Susan Bates hook and actually enjoyed crocheting with the sharper head. I recently invested in some Clover Amour and love them. So smooth to use with almost any yarn. Of the ones you showed, I think that animal ended set is adorable.
Susan Bates' hooks are my go-to, as well. Loved, loved, loved the variety of hooks you showed. Especially, after thinking I'd seen and have them all. The Pink floral set caught me eye. Have a lovely day!
The very first set I bought was the ergonomic one you showed in the bag with the darning needles and stitch markers. (Those needles are still my favorites!) But I was told that the Clover Amour set was better, so I used a 50% off coupon from JoAnn or Michaels to buy a 6 mm hook. What an improvement! I assembled the rest of the set that way, one at a time, using coupons or finding them on sale on Amazon.
A while back I remember you shared a video talking about the hooks and although it wasn't an extensive explanation you mentioned the Susan Bates hooks and I bought them, since than I do all my projects with them, they are my favourites. I love your channel and thanks a lot for all that you share and give to us.🥰💚
I discovered quite by accident what one of my biggest issues with crochet was for decades. Bad tools. I went with trying to save money & had a number of Bates and Boyle hooks. By my 7th or 8th try at crochet in 2014 I finally got to the point where they worked ok. But it took forgetting the hook for the project I packed to take on a trip to VT and stopping at WEBS that I bought my first Skacel Addi Comfort Grip hook. Wow! What a difference it made. The grip (I am a knife-holder), the smooth chrome coating and just the right amount of point. When I got back home I went on-line in search of the rest of the set. It cost me $65 but to this day I do not regret the purchase one bit.
I enjoy watching the crochet that Chandi does. I want to learn to crochet more than just a simple coasters! I love your bloopers!! They make me laugh!!
Best bloopers yet! Tim's laugh is so infectious, LOL!! I ADORE Susan Bates hooks. I learned crochet on tapered hooks but once I tried Susan Bates, it's inline all the way for me. I have all the sizes in the regular hooks but after a while, I noticed my hand got tired because there wasn't enough hook to hold on to and the length would always stab me in my palm. So I bought all the sizes in the bamboo handle version that I use the most so they are my go-to hooks daily. I like the shorter shaft and hold like a knife and the additional length of the bamboo doesn't stab my hand so way more comfy.
Hi Chandi! You two are so funny! Thanks for starting my weekend off with laughter! I hope you’re feeling ok. You sound a bit under the weather. You sure did find a lot of good hook sets to share with us. Those big metal ones look interesting. Will definitely be checking them out. I’d have to say I love my Clover Amour Hooks and my Tulip Etimo although I started out learning with Susan Bates and used them for years. I actually try out different hooks when starting each pattern. In-line verses Tapered because sometimes one type works much better depending on the yarn and stitch pattern. The shawl by Jane is beautiful! I love the shape and design. Thanks for another great video! Happy Friday to you and Tim and enjoy your weekend!💞
Love the unique choices you made for the video. I always see the big brands in videos like these, but I like seeing hooks that are actually new to me much more. It's also fun to see everyone's favorites in the comments. There's a big variety and a lot of passion behind those choices.
What a great collection! I used a basic aluminum set for about 40 years before I found out about ergonomic hooks. I use knife grip and found the lighter weight yarns and corresponding hooks difficult to use. Tried 1 Clover Amour and within a week I was hunting down sales for the mid sized set and the larger individual hooks. I now have a set of their interchangeable bamboo knitting needles and Tunisian crochet hooks thanks to my Christmas wish lists.
I used Susan Bates for years but reach for my Clovers more often now. I bought the lighted one to use in the truck when we travel but that didn’t work because the light interfered with hubby’s driving. I use a neck light now. That is a stunning shawl. My favorite shape and beautiful stitch patterns. Thanks!!!
I started with Susan Bates and quickly went to Boye and used Boye for years. I tried a Clover Amour and have never looked back. I also use Clover bamboo needles for knitting
I'm a super fast crocheter, so I need hooks that glide through yarn like a hot knife through butter. I found clover hooks are my favorite! But I've found that susan bates are really great to have for patterns with a lot of slip stitches.
Clover Amour for me everytime, I like the soft and fairly chunky grip and the hook slides through the loops without dragging or splitting the yarn. reading the comments, it's clear that Clover hooks are very popular - and with good reason
I used to use Susan Bates all the time, but now I use my Clover hooks more than any others. I do still love Susan Bates, but the handle on the Clover hooks is so nice! I have one from Furls and it's great but took some getting used to. I also have several plastic hooks I bought from Hobby Lobby that they unfortunately no longer carry but they were different colors and the handles were really fun.
Knit Pro zings aluminum ones are my go to faves! I also love my Susan Bates (I bought them bcoz of you Chandi, I loved the look of them on ur vids & asked you a few years ago what hooks they were & after u replied I went & got some!). I did buy some lace size (0.5mm to 2.0mm set) bamboo handle ones (handles are kinda flattened) & they're fantastic for crocheting lace work & doilies/ filet crochet etc 🙂 im in NZ so hooks are expensive here so I saved up & bought in Clover lace size hooks from the US & they're def worth the money 🤑
Hello Chandi, what a fun video with so many great product recommendations. I love metal hooks my next buy will be the one with the row counter. Thanks for sharing love
For sixty years and forever a Susan Bates fan. I crochet with a pencil hold and those aluminum hooks with the flat mouth are the BEST. I have several of the other sets you showed, which I bought from some of the same reasons 🥰, but I always come back to the Susan Bates. For new crocheters, who gravitate to the pencil hold, those wide handles are much harder to use, but they are mostly great to hold on to when you use the knife hold. Thank you so much for showing off your crochet hooks. How about interchangeable knitting needles next? ❤
this was one FUN video!! I never knew there were so many choices and so glad you shared them. I try some of my fancier hooks now and then and always end up using my Susan Bates. I also change how I hold my hook back and forth throughout every project, I think it's good for my hand to switch. While I'm here, just want to say that I buy more yarn from EFA than any other company and getting anxious to begin the LATO shawl ... Yay! Take care!
Chandi! Heaven’s to Betsy🤭 I love how you and Tim are so silly! I look forward each week for new patterns and/or tips… not to mention the blooper 😂 I don’t think I am alone on this! I have so many different styles of crochet hooks and needles. My husband has called me Goldilocks because I have so many sets! I now know my go to for the most part is ChiaoGoo because of the cords and the slick needles. I also have a set of bamboo needles for the extra slippery yarns where a needle can easily drop out😬! As for hooks, I was an avid Susan Bates fan. Now I pretty much use Tulip hooks because I love the feel in my hand, length of shaft and grippy handles. I think the one that counts stitches looks very interesting. I am so bad at keeping track and slow myself down by constantly going back and counting each stitch. I know you reviewed it, but can you or anyone else that have used it let me know if it is worth it? Sorry for this long winded comment 😬❤️
I'm glad you enjoyed the video. As for the digital counting hook set, in my opinion it seemed like a lot of extra stuff that probably wouldn't speed up my crochet personally. But you might be totally different! If keeping count is a challenge for you, you might want to just start with a stand-alone digital row counter that would do the same thing. That way, you don't have as much money invested in it.
What a fun video to watch!!! I have always used Susan Bates hooks with no problems, then when you showed us the Sarayu shawl, I tried the hook in the flowery bag. I like the grip on those but my stitches are just a little bigger than Susan Bates hooks. But I NEED the ones that count for me. That's the thing I hate doing most and it gets me in a lot of trouble, counting the stitches. Counting rows no problem, but the stitches over 150 messes me up. Maybe you can share any secrets to counting in a fun and accurate way. Thanks once again for being such a delightful soul!
Great, to hear that you enjoyed the video. The only thing that I can think of (to make counting more accurate) is to place markers every 20 sts. This way you only have to recount a max of 20 if something goes wrong. Sorry that I don't have a better suggestion. Have a nice weekend. 🥰
Of all the hooks I have, Clover Amour are my faves. I love the feel of them in my hand, and the metal is so nice. I also switch back and forth between knife and pencil grip.
I had learned to crochet on Boye Hooks. I was 7 and didn't know there were different types. I once asked you what hooks you used on a certain video, and you said Susan Bates. So I purched one. Wow, 🤯I didn't know what I was missing and hoe much better and faster I crochet. I do crochet with a pencil grip, and I haven't seen a lot of hooks for that grip. So thank you so much for that!
Y’all are so funny. Love watching. I have that resin hook that is $11.85, love it, doesn’t cause me any hand fatigue. Btw, I crochet like you, pencil to knife and back.
I have a lot of different hooks, some quite expensive like Furls Candy Shop and a drop-dead gorgeous piece of art from a Ukrainean vendor (Letto) on Etsy (well, not open at the moment, obviously) but I keep going back to my Clover Amours and my Tulip grey handled, gold-tipped set for most projects. They perform equally well for me. For Tunisian, it's the Lantern Moon ebony set. So smooth!
Thank you for this video! My go to always seem to be my Clover Soft Touch hooks. I like a shorter shaft that's semi-grippy& a thumb rest. I will be checking out a couple that you've shown here!
That shawl looks so stunning! I will try it! Thank you for showing us all those crochet hook sets. I want to try the digital interchangeable set, I think it will be useful to have a row counter incorporated into your hook! My favorite crochet hooks are the Candy shop collection by Furls crochet, they are ergonomic and just adorable!
Wow! What a great review and fun video. I knit more than crochet but I do love that little flower set. Thanks for starting my day off with a laugh. Always learning something from you. Getting ready to start another one of your shawl patterns as soon as I finish socks I’m working on. Keep laughing. 😊❤️😂
Thank you and Jane for charts in the pattern - yay!!! 🎉 I'm impressed with the reasonable prices for many of those sets. I have few options in my area so I prefer Boye because: 1) they're readily available, 2) they're made out of lightweight aluminium, and 3) they don't have handles. Hopefully, with so many different styles out there we'll all find at least one we can get "hooked" on. 😄
I'm all about the specific shape of the hook itself. I like the deeper cutout hooks of the Susan bates and clover hooks. I also have a couple Brittany birchwood hooks. If I don't have the deeper cutout hook I drop stitches like crazy.
@@ExpressionFiberArts I have lots of older aluminum hooks that were my grandma's that have those shallow hooks, I don't use them, but I keep them for sentimental reasons.
Oh goodness me, I'm a furls girl all the way. I have wood, resin, Odyssey. My favorite Tunisian crochet hooks are dreamz interchangeable. Love the shawl stunning
I love your videos and your gorgeous yarns. Will you be adding more crochet sweaters to the collection? I’m not a shawl fan and due to arthritis I can no longer to knit but still adore crocheting.
I love your videos and can’t wait till Friday. Get here to see what you’re doing next but I was just wondering if you made any crochet Malay patterns What about knit version?
Primarily, I use Furl Streamline resin hooks. However, just recently, I purchased the Dot hook set from WeCrochet; I love them just as much as my Furls. The glide, light weight, and comfortable handles on both brands of hooks allow me to crochet for many hours without hand and wrist problems.
Love the video! I'm already ordering 2 of the sets. 💕 I'm not a "picky" crocheter and can make (almost) any hook work for me! I, personally, don't favor the larger-handled ergo hooks (like Furls), but it doesn't matter to be the material or whether the hook is inline or not.
My favorite hooks are my Furls Streamline resin hooks and my hooks from Sophari crochet. I have full sets of each and rarely use any other hooks anymore, although I do have a Boye metal set that I use for traveling so I don't risk losing my good ones 😅
I use the prym ergonomics, it was my second set (the first was really cheap and the second was really treating myself). I don't know why I like them (I've only ever used simple metal once and the prym ergonomics, so I can't compare). Loved this video! Maybe one on knitting needles as well?
Only hooks I am willing to use now are Soft Touch Crochet Hooks from Clover. No splitting yarn and i hold my hook as a knife, and very close to the edge.
I have fallen in love with my Athena hooks from Bella Coco. They are light weight and feel great in my hands. I tend to go for the ergonomic style cuz I can crochet for longer periods of time.
Basic Susan Bates hooks for the win! I’m a “pencil” crocheter and the Boye style hook is a no-go for me! Chandi I’m allergic to wool so I’m super happy you’re carrying more non-wool-base yarns. The Amal yarn looks super! Incidentally, if you’re not subscribed to Chandi’s newsletter you’re missing out on a lovely, inspirational communication! Sign up today!
Yes, indeed, sign up for our newsletter! Be the first to hear about secret sales and get coupons on a regular basis as well. 🥰 I'm so glad you enjoy our non-wool bases. Have you tried our Moongleam Fingering yet?
I love my Clover Amour hooks, I think I have ALL the sizes. Recently I was introduced to Prym, and bought a set of the large hooks on Amazon, and so far so good, but I'm not sure I like them as well as my Clovers...
I love the style head that the Susan Bates has. This style seems to get hung up less when it's time to pull through the stitches. It's what works for me.
I've been crocheting for a long time and I've been given a lot of crochet hooks from friends and family plus every now and then found a hook or two in a skein of yarn I've been given. I've found that I'm pretty adaptable with all different types. I do tend to prefer Susan Bates or Boye best.
I’ve tried several different kinds of hooks. My favorites are Susan Bates or Furls. If my project is with fingering yarn I prefer Susan Bates with a handle on it.
😂...just turn the lights off. Oh what ever should I do?😂That was priceless. I'm a pencil style holder, but like you, I also change the way I hold the hook depending on the stitch. I find it works best for me if I grab the hook instead of pencil style when I do foundation sc, dc etc. I love my clover gold hooks. You can grab them or hold as a pencil. Take care of your cough.
I have to go for my Addi Swing crochet hook. I deal with carpal tunnel so these hooks have allowed me to still do what I love and be more gentle on my hands
I have the sets that you show that come in the flowered zipper bag with stitch markers and darning needles. I use them exclusively though I have other miscellaneous Bates and others given to me. I have been looking to get the lighted hook fir when I'm doing dark colors, even with the light on I think it will help me see the right stitch. 🧐🤣😅♥️
I'm 70 years old, and I still use metal crochet hooks. I've got all my Mom's hooks and use them. When I need to buy a certain size, I buy the metal ones, usually at Joann Fabrics. I also find hooks at Goodwill stores and second hand places. I pick them up and add them to my hook collection. I am intrigued by the looks of a lot of them. I really like the look of the fancy wood ones or the marble effects ones, but I stick to the metal ones.
Why did I know Hubs was gonna laugh at "shaft". 🤣 But to see there is a crochet row counter hook set..what???!!!!!!! Shoppin I shall go!!!!!! I would love to see your fav knitting needles. Nothin better than having fab hooks and sticks.
Hi Chandi and Tim, Thanks for this informative video. Keep up the great work and thanks for the brilliant bloopers! “Shaft” 😆😂 cracked me up and made my morning. …”price”🤦♀️ Have a wonderful day, with love from Australia ❤
Becasue of how I hold my hook, Susan Bates have always been my favorite. However, some of the newer ones don't seem to be quite as well made. They are sharp at the open end of the hook. Also like the Boye metal hooks.
Je ne comprends pas l'anglais mais votre joie est communicative et universelle....merci jolie demoiselle. Grâce à vous jai tricoté le Palette et c'est une vraie victoire.mamiannie.
Thank you Annie. Glad you enjoyed making Palette. Unfortunately we don't offer our videos in other languages but you can try this trick: Turn on closed captions, and click on the Settings (the gear icon). Choose Subtitles/CC and to the right of that there is a language option. Use that to select Auto-Translate, and then choose French. UA-cam will automatically translate the closed captions for you. Enjoy! 🥰
Hi Anna, thank you. Happy you like our designs. As mentioned before we don't offer our patterns in different languages unfortunately. I'm sorry about that. 🥰
I have a box of crochet hooks, some I bought, some I inherited and range from the steel hooks (one is almost microscopic) to the Bates aluminum hooks. I’m a Bates girl and haven’t tried any of the others that Chandi showed
You actually forgot Boye hooks!! I LOVE the thinner shaft on the lace hooks for beading my knitting...is use a vintage 10... I have the set my grandmother gave me in the '60's!! It really depends on what you were taught with. Love bloopers!!! "Price!!"
I tried to learn to crochet for years with a simple metal hook, and I just couldn’t do it. I bought a Clover Amour and it was a whole new world! I’m now crocheting a baby blanket! 🤩

Aw, thank you for the kind words. I'm so happy you enjoyed this video and that you found some hooks that keep your hands healthy.

I love my bamboo set! It’s warm and comfortable to the grip. When I say warm I don’t mean getting hot just like warm and comfortable. Love them!
Bamboo is a really nice material to work with!
Thanks for the demonstration. It's lovely to see the humorous side of you guys
Our pleasure! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I have the Susan Bates set because its sharpy ends. Since I have had them I did not regret buying them. ❤️❤️❤️
They are my go-to hooks, too!

Right!? She just designs the most beautiful things. 🥰
I really appreciate your videos, BUT, I really LOVE the out takes! Thank you so much for I really really needed that this morning. Love and hugs.
Glad you like them! Thank you!

Thanks for the suggestion!
I will now be getting new hooks to start a collection! These are beautiful!

Thank you so much for showing off your crochet hooks. How about interchangeable knitting needles next? ❤
Thanks for sharing and your suggestion. We'll keep in mind. 🥰
this was one FUN video!! Yay! Take care!
Yay, that's wonderful. Enjoy working on the Lato Wrap. 🥰
So far the smoothest hooks I have used, and am using currently, are the Tulips in pink.
👍👍👍
I had learned to crochet on Boye Hooks. I was 7 and didn't know there were different types. I once asked you what hooks you used on a certain video, and you said Susan Bates. So I purched one. Wow, 🤯I didn't know what I was missing and hoe much better and faster I crochet. I do crochet with a pencil grip, and I haven't seen a lot of hooks for that grip. So thank you so much for that!
That is awesome! And my pleasure. 🥰
Wonderful review. I love that you add the 'bloopers' at the end. I look forward to all your videos.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
@@ExpressionFiberArts oh my gosh!! You made my day!!!
Y’all are so funny. Love watching. I have that resin hook that is $11.85, love it, doesn’t cause me any hand fatigue.
Btw, I crochet like you, pencil to knife and back.
Awesome, thanks for sharing. 💕
I tend to switch between addi, prym, etimo tulip and clover. I also have furls odyssey hooks that I use on occasion. Loved your video.
Thank you!
So smooth!
Awesome, thanks for sharing! 💕💕💕
Thank you for this video! My go to always seem to be my Clover Soft Touch hooks. I like a shorter shaft that's semi-grippy& a thumb rest. I will be checking out a couple that you've shown here!
Awesome. Thanks for sharing! 🥰
Nice, thank you for sharing! 🥰 Happy you like our new design.
Wow! What a great review and fun video. I knit more than crochet but I do love that little flower set. Thanks for starting my day off with a laugh. Always learning something from you. Getting ready to start another one of your shawl patterns as soon as I finish socks I’m working on. Keep laughing. 😊❤️😂
You are so welcome! Glad you liked it. 🥰
I have Susan styles, but I love the ones with light ❤
They're fun, aren't they?
My favourite is tulip hook.. it’s just another level make my project very fast
Awesome, thank you for sharing. 💕
Definitely! There are just so many incredible options now! I'm so happy you like the pattern.
I'm all about the specific shape of the hook itself. I like the deeper cutout hooks of the Susan bates and clover hooks. I also have a couple Brittany birchwood hooks. If I don't have the deeper cutout hook I drop stitches like crazy.
Hmm, that's interesting, and it makes a lot of sense.
@@ExpressionFiberArts I have lots of older aluminum hooks that were my grandma's that have those shallow hooks, I don't use them, but I keep them for sentimental reasons.
Your bloopers are the best!
Indeed! 💕
I also prefer Susan Bates. I like the shape of the hook. Thanks for all the gorgeous shawl patterns!
You are so welcome!
Clovers are my favorite!!!❤️
Loved your outtakes...😊
Thanks so much!
I have to download this it's so beautiful
It's truly amazing!
Oh goodness me, I'm a furls girl all the way. I have wood, resin, Odyssey. My favorite Tunisian crochet hooks are dreamz interchangeable. Love the shawl stunning
Thank you! 💕
I like the Susan Bates with the soft handles
Yes, those are nice, too!
I love your videos and your gorgeous yarns. Will you be adding more crochet sweaters to the collection? I’m not a shawl fan and due to arthritis I can no longer to knit but still adore crocheting.
Yes I will. And I'm glad you enjoy our products. 🥰
I love your videos and can’t wait till Friday. Get here to see what you’re doing next but I was just wondering if you made any crochet Malay patterns
What about knit version?
Thanks for the suggestions. We currently don't have any Malay patterns but that's a great idea. 💕
Thanks for sharing! That's fantastic!
I have been using Susan Bates hooks since I started crocheting at 12. I still use the same set.
That's awesome! I'm sure they hold some find memories for you.
@@ExpressionFiberArts they do, my mom gave them to me. She means the world to me.
I like a mix of the solid metal and the grip in your flower bag
Clover Amour hooks are my absolute favorite.
Those are great, too!
Mine too ☺️
Tulip red etimo hooks...love them
🥰
I love my Clover hooks and Furls.
Good to know!
That's great! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
My favorite hooks are my Furls Streamline resin hooks and my hooks from Sophari crochet. I have full sets of each and rarely use any other hooks anymore, although I do have a Boye metal set that I use for traveling so I don't risk losing my good ones 😅
That's a great tip! Thanks. 💕
Great video. Laughed so hard with your bloopers. LOL
😁😁😁
I use the prym ergonomics, it was my second set (the first was really cheap and the second was really treating myself). I don't know why I like them (I've only ever used simple metal once and the prym ergonomics, so I can't compare). Loved this video! Maybe one on knitting needles as well?
The Prym hooks are great, too!
Only hooks I am willing to use now are Soft Touch Crochet Hooks from Clover. No splitting yarn and i hold my hook as a knife, and very close to the edge.
Great that you found something that works for you! 🥰
I have fallen in love with my Athena hooks from Bella Coco. They are light weight and feel great in my hands. I tend to go for the ergonomic style cuz I can crochet for longer periods of time.
Awesome. Thanks for sharing your experience. 💕
Basic Susan Bates hooks for the win! I’m a “pencil” crocheter and the Boye style hook is a no-go for me!
Chandi I’m allergic to wool so I’m super happy you’re carrying more non-wool-base yarns. The Amal yarn looks super!

I'm so glad you enjoy our non-wool bases. Have you tried our Moongleam Fingering yet?
@@ExpressionFiberArts, I’ve got my eye on it, Chandi! Silk, yes! Cotton yes! The combination looks lovely!
Thank you, the blooper is brilliant 😂😂 hugs xxx
You're very welcome!
I love my Clover Amour hooks, I think I have ALL the sizes. Recently I was introduced to Prym, and bought a set of the large hooks on Amazon, and so far so good, but I'm not sure I like them as well as my Clovers...
There are just SO many options! I'm glad you found some you love.
My favorite hooks are prym. I too go back and forth between holds and find that these are really compatible
Thanks for sharing! 💕
The plants and animal set is so cute if I only had a room to decorate.
🤗
I love the style head that the Susan Bates has. This style seems to get hung up less when it's time to pull through the stitches. It's what works for me.
That's definitely true for me, too!
I've been crocheting for a long time and I've been given a lot of crochet hooks from friends and family plus every now and then found a hook or two in a skein of yarn I've been given. I've found that I'm pretty adaptable with all different types. I do tend to prefer Susan Bates or Boye best.
Wonderful! 💕
I’ve tried several different kinds of hooks. My favorites are Susan Bates or Furls. If my project is with fingering yarn I prefer Susan Bates with a handle on it.
My very favorite hooks are the Clover Amour hooks with Tulip Etimo Reds being a close second. Not quite as good as the Clovers, but almost.
Wow, a lot of beautiful hooks that I've never seen before. I want all of them. 😶
My favorite are also the Susan Bates hooks. Mainly coz they're inline. Sooo love my SB's!!
They're really great!
Exactly!! Glad you enjoyed the video. 🥰
I have to go for my Addi Swing crochet hook. I deal with carpal tunnel so these hooks have allowed me to still do what I love and be more gentle on my hands
That's wonderful! Gotta take care of those hands!
That's a good point about the lighted hooks. They'd be great for working with darker yarns, especially at night.
Happy you enjoyed the video and it was informative. Have a lovely weekend. 💕
Why did I know Hubs was gonna laugh at "shaft". 🤣 But to see there is a crochet row counter hook set..what???!!!!!!! Shoppin I shall go!!!!!! I would love to see your fav knitting needles. Nothin better than having fab hooks and sticks.
Thanks for your video suggestion. Will add it to our customer wish list. 🥰
Hi Chandi and Tim, Thanks for this informative video. Keep up the great work and thanks for the brilliant bloopers! “Shaft” 😆😂 cracked me up and made my morning. …”price”🤦♀️ Have a wonderful day, with love from Australia ❤
Glad you enjoyed it. 💕
I can't get over clover amour
Susan Bates are my favorite hooks. ❤
Awesome 💕
Becasue of how I hold my hook, Susan Bates have always been my favorite. However, some of the newer ones don't seem to be quite as well made. They are sharp at the open end of the hook. Also like the Boye metal hooks.
I love Boye but have a lot of Susan Bates. I just got a set of bamboo Tunisian hooks. They're waiting for a project.
Awesome, can't wait to see what you'll create with your new tools. 💕
Excellent review but the out takes were such fun 🤣🤣
Glad you liked them!
Je ne comprends pas l'anglais mais votre joie est communicative et universelle....merci jolie demoiselle.
Grâce à vous jai tricoté le Palette et c'est une vraie victoire.mamiannie.
Salve vorrei acquistare alcuni dei suoi modelli meravigliosi
Sarebbe possibile avere le spiegazioni in italiano?
Grazie per la gentilezza
Thank you Annie. Glad you enjoyed making Palette. Unfortunately we don't offer our videos in other languages but you can try this trick:
Turn on closed captions, and click on the Settings (the gear icon).
@@ExpressionFiberArts capisco. Grazie mille
Another vote for clover amor but I'm eyeing lantern moon wooden hooks as a splurge.
Ooh, yes, I hope you treat yourself!
Will you be doing a review of interchangeable knitting needles soon?
Probably. It's on my list of future videos, although I'm not sure when we'll get to it.
I have a box of crochet hooks, some I bought, some I inherited and range from the steel hooks (one is almost microscopic) to the Bates aluminum hooks. I’m a Bates girl and haven’t tried any of the others that Chandi showed
I like the clover amour hooks best
💕💕💕
You actually forgot Boye hooks!!
I LOVE the thinner shaft on the lace hooks for beading my knitting...is use a vintage 10...
I have the set my grandmother gave me in the '60's!!
It really depends on what you were taught with.
Love bloopers!!! "Price!!"
I agree and every crafter is different as well. So one needs to go with what feels comfortable and one enjoys the most. 💕
Happy you enjoyed the video.
