For me, the coolest Speedmaster is the model number 105.012 that Buzz Aldrin wore on the moon during the Apollo 11 mission in 1969. Arguably the coolest watch of all time.
Agree! I was near getting a 105.012-65 with a serial number less than 4000 units from Neil Armstrong's Speedmaster. I swapped my Zenith Chronomaster full calendar w. moonphase 18k gold with this Speedy, but it turned out to be issues with the Speedy. The bezel was damaged and the caseback was severely overpolished. There also turned out to be a suspiciously large number of movement parts replaced during the last service. To the seller's credit, he offered to undo the deal, to which I agreed. I'm still semi-activerly looking for a caliber 321 Speedmaster. I already have a 145.022 68ST, which is a "bulletproof" and very reliable chronograph. Except it's not water resistent at all (my watchmaker said: Wash your hands carefylly & don't walk outside in heavy rain wearing a T-shirt!).
Only heard of “Owl’” yesterday having watched a Oisin video and they were referring to her Instagram account and featured some of her collection . It’s absolutely next level , and the lady herself appears to be an absolute class act . What a generous and absolutely stunning gift . Congratulations
She honestly has the most insane collection! She might have one of the craziest vintage collections in the U.K.! She is WONDERFUL! I was Instagram friends with her for a while and thought she was great…. And then meeting her in person - she felt like a soul friend! Her energy is just infectious! 💕 beautoful human!

I love the Project Alaska when it’s not covered in the gear. It’s so frosty and the orange second hand pops. It’s really the perfect opposite number to the quiet retro grace of the original

I think the coolest Speedy is the Blue Side of the Moon. It has a blue ceramic case, moon phase, and a bluish Aventurine dial that looks like deep space with rose gold hands and writing. It also only weighs 100 grams on strap.

standard moonwatch is the one for me - classic, iconic and timeless. While I get the snoopy narrative, I find that 50th anniversary watch a bit naff and gimmicky
Seems these days, when considering "modern" Speedmaster references, everyone forgets the Japan Racing in favour of the Tin Tin. For me, however, it is much better looking, and because it has links back to the original Speedmaster with racing dial references from 1968+, is the much cooler watch.
Not sure if they count, but the speedsonic tuning fork powered chronos from the 60s/70s are worth a look. The moonswatch wasn't the first slightly whacky take on the speedmaster. Omega have been open to new ideas for longer than that.
When you first started your channel, I was not a fan. But I've converted. You have opinions that you don't feel the need to constantly qualify; you know how to be self-deprecating; and you still have some fire in the belly, in other words you're not jaded. Mucho gusto, gringa!
Great list I have always thought the (discounted) 40mm Speedmaster Racing models are under appreciated. Especially the grey dial with yellow highlights.

Loved this. I have the stainless steel and Sedna gold moonwatch professional, and I LOVE them. They are beautiful, classy and historically relevant. Their movements are wonderful. I like and have Rolex, Cartier, etc. but the Speedys hold a special place in my heart. Thanks Britt.
Tintin and 50th Anniversary Snoopy editions are very cool. I own a sapphire sandwich Speedy and its hard to beat in terms of being iconic in the most literal sense. Also, you totally code switched to a British accent when you took that call!!! 😂

I have a couple Speedy's. Silver Snoopy 50th and my dad's 1970 Speedy he picked up in Vietnam in 1970 for about $250. The Speedy is a bit large on my wrist but I will never give up either of them.
Interesting video. Of course the Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional is number one, it's a classic. I like the Speedmaster 57, but since I saw the new summer blue Seamaster, I am dreaming of the Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M. The Silver Snoopy is very cool.

BAHAHA, I had an ENNNNNTIRE hesalite and sapphire part in here! But I just went ONNNN AND ON haha and I thought "omg people are going to get sooo bored and they won't get past the first watch" hahaha. To quote edited-out-me: "My preference on hesalite vs. sapphire changes with each day and what mood I am in. Hesalite is the more Romantic choice and I love the warm hue BUT it scratches easily (although it is easily buffed out). Now sapphire is the superior material and the industry standard now-a-days. It does feel that little bit colder but I prefer the applied logo. I think I ULTIMATELY prefer Hesalite - love the caseback (I'm not as much of a display caseback person) and the warm vintage feeling... But also wouldn't say no to the Sapphire"

The Montreal Albatros is a weird rectangular watch which was half digital and the other half a round analog watch. But it was a Seamaster, not a Speedy.
I have gone down the watch rabbit hole but I'm embracing it. I just bought a Speedmaster Reduced 3510.50 in an A condition and I'm looking forward to receiving it. I love your channel but I may need to take some time away, it's not you it's me.
I am lucky to already own my favorite Speedy: the 50th anniversary Silver Snoopy Award. The blue and white color-scheme with the small snoopy subdial are so cool and that's even before turning the watch over to its stunning caseback! My second favorite is the 50th anniversary Apollo XI in moonshine gold with the burgundy bezel and gold dial. It's a perfect recreation of the vintage version while featuring the perfectly modern 3861 in it. PS: Super cool video! Would love to see even more Speedy content soon ;-)
Got my reduced on. Though its not an in house movement but jusy 12mm tall including the crystal. Super slim and 39mm. Damn near perfect, just a bit funny with the stacked pushers and crown with that modular movent. And dial has les depth, but the vibes and feel is perfect on this 6.5" wrist. Great value too
I have a 145.022 68ST "transitional", the first reference with caliber 861. It's weakness is the complete lack of water resistance (my watchmaker says I must be careful washing my hands or walking outside in rainy weather..). On the other hand, it's my only chronograph I've never had any trouble with. The movement just works, like an old Volvo or a diesel Mercedes. At the moment, I'm semi-actively looking for a cal. 321 Speedmaster preferably in good condition; I've seen some bad overpolished ones.

Has to be the First Omega in Space or CK2998. Having recently purchased a FOIS, I just love the look of tbe straight lugs and the alpha hands. I think it is much more dressy than the baton and I'm not a huge fan of the arrow hands. Wish mine had the caliber 321 but for the price, such a great time piece.
Speedy TinTin for me. I love it. I’d happily turn Saxon, kill and pillage to get one. When I was very young and still at school I’d lie to my friends that I was going to meet my ‘Other Friends’ but I’d really be going to the library to read TinTin books.
Alaska is a wild cool watch, the first Mars Watch donchaknow? God I luuuurve it, coolest by a country mile, by contrast the Snoopyis a silly watch, stop it stopit now. As for Tin Tin I was always more of a Asterix guy...That 145 is a charmer, Happy late B day to OWL

I think what gets lost when the Omega, Rolex comparison occurs is people simply have different tastes. I think back to Pulp Fiction when Uma Thurman asked John Travolta if he was an Elvis man or a Beetles man. I am a solid no apology Elvis, Omega man. Sure Rolex and the Beetles are awesome, but I still prefer Elvis and Omega.
It used to be the Apollo 8, which I still think is amazing. BUT. After noticing I had three blue dialed watches in the collection (Tag Carrera Day Date, Seamaster Planet Ocean, PRX Powermatic 80) I figured it was time for change, and I wanted another chronograph, and something that stood out a bit more. Stumbled over the Speedmaster Racing red/black (326.30.40.50.11.001) and was sold .It's currently my favorite Speedy. Although, it's impossible to not like Snoopy

For me, the Speedmaster 1957 reissue from the trilogy collection is by far the best (probably even better than the Ed White). It’s a reissue of the 1957 Speedmaster ck2915 (I believe). The dimensions at 38mm, broad arrow hands, and the steel bezel are just classic for me. And my preference is totally not because I own one……😅
Have you had a chance to look at a CK2998? That was the one I went for after much deliberation, and to this day I haven’t found one quite as awesome as it. Also the new Snoopy clearly taking some inspiration from the 2016 CK2998! 🎉
I really do miss my 1861 Speedy (bought and sold twice)... but had to just accept that it wore too big and I was always worried about the water resistance.... it really is an icon, but nothing beats comfort on the wrist

Worth checking out the 38mm black speedy from the current range. A smaller option for those that can’t pull off the 42mm professional

Has to be the First Omega in Space or CK2998. Having recently purchased a FOIS, I just love the look of tbe straight lugs and the alpha hands. I think it is much more dressy than the baton and I'm not a huge fan of the arrow hands. Wish mine had the caliber 321 but for the price, such a great time piece.
Speedy TinTin for me. I love it. I’d happily turn Saxon, kill and pillage to get one. When I was very young and still at school I’d lie to my friends that I was going to meet my ‘Other Friends’ but I’d really be going to the library to read TinTin books.
The Speedy is the kind of watch that makes me want to build a collection around all the different references.
My favourite is the BA145.022 from 1969, the Apollo XI special edition, and the same from 2019 the 50th aniversary edition.
Alaska is a wild cool watch, the first Mars Watch donchaknow? God I luuuurve it, coolest by a country mile, by contrast the Snoopyis a silly watch, stop it stopit now. As for Tin Tin I was always more of a Asterix guy...That 145 is a charmer, Happy late B day to OWL

I think what gets lost when the Omega, Rolex comparison occurs is people simply have different tastes. I think back to Pulp Fiction when Uma Thurman asked John Travolta if he was an Elvis man or a Beetles man. I am a solid no apology Elvis, Omega man. Sure Rolex and the Beetles are awesome, but I still prefer Elvis and Omega.

The 57, the Snoopy and the Tintin! It doesn't get cooler than this, despite the acrylic of the latter, which I don't like.
It used to be the Apollo 8, which I still think is amazing. BUT. After noticing I had three blue dialed watches in the collection (Tag Carrera Day Date, Seamaster Planet Ocean, PRX Powermatic 80) I figured it was time for change, and I wanted another chronograph, and something that stood out a bit more. Stumbled over the Speedmaster Racing red/black (326.30.40.50.11.001) and was sold .It's currently my favorite Speedy. Although, it's impossible to not like Snoopy

For me, the Speedmaster 1957 reissue from the trilogy collection is by far the best (probably even better than the Ed White). It’s a reissue of the 1957 Speedmaster ck2915 (I believe). The dimensions at 38mm, broad arrow hands, and the steel bezel are just classic for me.
And my preference is totally not because I own one……😅
Have you had a chance to look at a CK2998? That was the one I went for after much deliberation, and to this day I haven’t found one quite as awesome as it. Also the new Snoopy clearly taking some inspiration from the 2016 CK2998! 🎉

I really do miss my 1861 Speedy (bought and sold twice)... but had to just accept that it wore too big and I was always worried about the water resistance.... it really is an icon, but nothing beats comfort on the wrist
