The best part of this video is the independent report as if they think that will stand up in court is beyond me. If they turn up with that as evidence Joe your all good don't let it get to you
100% they're chancing it. Most people are fearful of civil courts and will fold.
💯 I would for a laugh get a beer coaster and write on it independent report! Cars all good no faults found and email it back to them stating you’ve had your own done by Gary. It’s so ridiculous I don’t think they would take the hint.
Use raffle profit to fight and show who’s boss, they will lose
The C Max lad couldn’t afford £50 per month
I used to be a car dealer in the U.K. and for a limited time dealt with first response.
Let me just say our business agreement with them terminated with legal action, which I might add we won. That was after two other agreements with them to return cars for no real reason except to try and maintain a relationship. After this we only used two prime finance companies that conducted business in a more honourable manner. Don’t be bullied Joe, and find another sub prime route for your business. Most of all be happy! 👍🏻
@@lakesidesecurity3845 thanks bud 👍
@@ShiftingMetal With fair usage 6 months rent , the £500.00 you sent him for brakes. Mileage claim back( if they even recorded the correct mileage), and no option to buy back, and a hand written piece of toilet paper saying its broken. 🤣They will get nothing out of taking Berrow to court. Only bad press. For 3.8k plus costs LOL , the finance company will be throwing good money after bad, they just sound as though they are chancing that you will cough up. 🤣
@@mikythesaint6507and as he never appears to have heard from them since that’s a huge loss to them.
Best episode so far. I thought you were very calm and eloquent when the finance company took out their needle & cotton to try to stitch you up. ❤
💯 with the eloquent bit. No matter how we may feel you always need to be polite and professional which is what Joe did there. Ranting and getting super angry gets everyone's back up and never resolves anything in a satisfactory manner. As he said, not the person on the phones fault, more the customer and the finance company generally.
Christ knows how you managed to be so chill on the phone to that finance company.
Joe the 911 looks a million times better with the silver wheels. Sometimes black on black doesn’t work and that was one of them. Should sell now. Love the channel!!
This is more than just money, you have to take a stand and show these finance companies you are not to be messed around. Good luck and willl be good to see you have your day in court.
Disgusting behaviour from First Response mate. To accept that piece of paper as a reason to reject the car is an outrage! Looking forward to Lawgistics tearing them a new one…
25 years ago i sold up my second hand car sales garages , retired and left the UK. Best thing i ever did , i dont miss it one bit. The VAT system made it very easy to come to my decision.
Loved this episode! It reminded me of the early days when it was just Joe making the videos.
Hi just word of big advice 45mom where you changed the porch wheel never never put your leg under the car , I had the jack slip and luckily my leg was not under the car
The disc cutter was used on a bellhousing bolt to remove the gearbox rather than taking out the dpf to access it. Its a shortcut. The balljoint dustcover was most likely damaged removing the driveshafts too as they are a pain to remove when corrosion sets in.
I think you're right!
Great comment. 👍
For anyone out there running their own small business, good luck to you, it's not easy.
Joe you have a massive heart and an obvious passion for what you do, it makes for hard viewing watching the bigger fish bend you over. Really hope you come out on top with this love the channel love and respect for you bro
Thanks bud 👍
The car game is a nightmare especially when your dealing with idiots
How can the finance company sell it at auction without letting you take the car back or even inspect it. Joke scenario. Good luck at court i hope you win it and claim all expenses plus more.
Jaysus Joe, that wasn't the best week. Your anger, frustration and contempt for the 'finance' company came through loud and clear. I could literally feel the heat radiating from your red visage through my screen😊. This was an excellent video, a compelling watch which showed the chicanery honest business owners like yourself have to endure. Just one word of advice, seriously, get your blood pressure checked. Stress is not a good thing.
All the best.
I'm worn out just watching this, heaven knows how you find the time to fit it all in and keep so cheery. Fascinating insight. Silver wheels my choice too. !
Chin up Joe. Your doing a good job mate. Always going to get those awkward sods whether it’s a customer or something coming out at left field at you. Kudos for being calm and polite to the service agent on the other end, she was in an awkward position. I’d need a strong brew and a packet of chocolate digestives after that. Glad you put a drop of dezel in the RR wouldn’t want it grinding to a halt again 😉
The three of you chatting was a good listen and it must be very cathartic for you to get a few things off your chest with people that know what you’re going through during the week
I take it that you have binned that finance company. Buyer probably stopped paying so it's easier to chase you. A good lawyer will eat them alive in court. We're all rooting for you.
Well done, Joe. Poxy finance companies what a joke.
Car dealing these days is a nightmare, I've been in the job for years, customers are just awful,
Regarding your coolant issue with your customer audi a3 ... These cars have a silican crystal pouch in the coolant reservoir this ruptures and silicate crystals block the heater matrix causing a blockage and over pressurizes the system .. the solution is change heater matrix and replace coolant reservoir and flush the system .. hope this helps anyone with vw golfs seats audi a3 post about 2012 onwards....
That year of A3 it's possibly the water pump leaking
@@yellowa4725 your right it's possible as they have a water pump with a cover over the impeller which can seize which is another weak point... Thanks for your reply, hope our comments help other people.....,
Easier to say than do but try not to stress Joe! Worrying about tomorrow just disrupts today’s peace. It will get resolved. Keep being a good guy! Don’t let it put you off. 👍🏻
A lot of people are only thinking about holidays at this time of year and not buying cars normally quite till the end of August or early September September is normally my time for changing cars
We need a boxing match against finance peeps
Funny cause most these finance/insurance types love those charity/white collar boxing matches. It's always them & sales exexs/HR headhunters etc. Weird bunch, kinda folks I always avoid in professional networking settings
This is the main reason I keep avoiding getting into finance, very surprised first response have taken this stance, they have been one of the better firms over the years to deal with in particular in the subprime game.
To be honest Lee, if you're sticking to the sub £5k market, I really wouldn't bother! It's the cheaper cars or the ones where people are really stretching themselves that end up with issues like this!
@@ShiftingMetal True, its more for the odd 4-5k car we are asked about chucky. With slow sales of late the idea creeps back on my mind 😁
Jo, I truly feel for you. Anyone who watches your videos, knows that any vehicles you have for sale, are checked over. Any that don't come up to scratch, go to the farm. Don't give up and, go to court.
That finance comany sounds like a pile of shizzle! hope you win joe, keep us posted.
That’s absolutely ridiculous! Good luck with the legal fight I do hope that justice prevails.
Well done for managing without Toby this week, however I do worry about your blood pressure at times😢
No company should be able to just do as they please and demand money. This seems to happen all to often with especially big companies just thinking they can intimate people. I'm sorry you have had to deal with this as you seem like a truly genuine guy that would of helped in any way you could to get it resolved if given the chance. Hope it all goes in your favour
What a tough week for you Joe. I really feel for you. Hope it improves soon. At least your fly wasn't down 🙂
Ha, that's rare!
That vehicle inspection report is not worth the paper it is scribbled on Joe. Fight them all the way.
Being a car dealer has many obstacles but you take it in your stride its a shame because your a genuine nice guy and people seem to take the mick out of your niceness.
That finance company is taking the mick and with the evidence you provided I can't see you not winning.
Good luck.
So glad I don't work in the motor trade dealing with finance companies. Only bought my cars outright. If on a tight budget, gone with the best one within that.
The best part of this video is that I don’t do this trade no more as I used to have a used car dealership and it was my dream but it turned out to be the worst and hardest part of my life ever !! But I enjoyed the moment but that soon ran out of love for it, good watching you go through what I went through 👌
Morning Joe, honest content and refreshing to see the downs alongside the ups! Could I gently suggest a way around the expense, time and effort of compiling an evidence pack for court action. The finance provider will have a complaints procedure and a route to ADR, Alternative Dispute Resolution. A qualified independent ADR practitioner will quickly and effectively take an overview of the circumstances and make a swift and binding judgement. With the non disclosure in the Decision Notice, lacklustre action after your request for a written statement and that woeful engineers report I should imagine the resolution would be immediate. Know you’ll have your own procedure in place but hope this may provide a less anxiety inducing way forward. Take care.
First Respond - I reckon the guy stopped paying, they repossed car - hence then selling it. Now they are just trying to get the money lost from you. Car finance companies don't just roll over that easy. Smells fishy.
@youtube2kwatcher they have zero chance of winning if they take joe to court.
Sound like u right
My personal opinion is if you can’t afford to buy a car outright, then you should not be buying it. Too many people out there taking liberties, dealer or customer. I know people will say “what about mortgages” but with that you don’t get comebacks like you would with vehicles.
But from a customer’s perspective, it looks like First Response are brilliant because quite often dealers are reluctant to resolve issues within the mandatory warranty period. A dealer saying the car just passed an MOT means nothing as we all know they can be pushed through even if there are a few issues.
Problem with that is it’s good financial sense to finance a vehicle in some cases, and no finance would make selling lower value cars a lot harder too. However I do agree there should be less consumer rights or they should be restricted to say 1 month because 6 is a joke. How can someone drive something for 5 months without issue and return it in month 6 because of an issue?
You right there if you can’t afford to buy cash don’t have it . Well that’s the way I run anyway.
"I don't want to show you what the vehicle is" when it's CLEARLY a Disco 3 or 4
Some customers have tragedy written all over them! The skill is recognising them & walking away!
Great episode. We are all rooting fit your victory over first response. They obviously figured they could use your email saying you were no longer entertaining this case as a get out of jail card
Well done Joe for holding together and not effing that girl from the finance company off! Unbelievable!
Great video Joe, I loved the independent vehicle inspection report it was comedy gold.
Imagine sending someone that scrap of paper as evidence that you owe them nearly £4K.
After hearing that call with the finance co, I could make a pot noodle with my own boiling wee. Well done for remaining so calm and keeping your responses to the point.
4500 views an hour BM weekly is hotly sought after property
I look forward to the video on the commercial discovery…my dad had a disco 3 like that and put backseats and seatbelts in it….he took the window covers out and it still had electric windows…the chassis still has the anchor points for the seats and everything to be bolted in….he bought it through the business so got vat back so it worked out a lot cheaper than buying one with back seats…❤
Bloody good video Joe, probably the best I’ve seen, it seemed more real than previous ones.
Don’t pay the finance company cowboys, I can see the stress they’re inflicting on you, try and pass it to your legal guys, I suffer with a general anxiety disorder and it sucks, walk away from it.
The 911 looks much better with the lobster claws and sorry, it was me who spotted your Cayman was wearing the wrong size wheels but hey, why not let the new owner decide what they want and sell the others? Ken.
ps. Give your dog a hug, works wonders, wish I had one sometimes, let’s see more of them in your videos please.
Nightmare Joe. Didn't realise it could be so difficult flogging secondhand motors? Cheers, looking forward to the next instalment.
Keep up the great work, first response issue will resolve in your favour, big companies think they can bully and get away with it and they may do because dealers don’t have the time and the need for added stress so they pay , good luck Joe hope you update us 👍
Not fair that finance companies are a win win and can never lose
Love the show
That paper receipt made me laugh what a bunch of 🔔 ends 🤦🏻♂️
Love the rant on the finance company. See it all the time finance companies retrieving the car and being out of pocket so it’s either the customer or garage they chase to get it back. However I had the similar problem to your customer as brought the car and later found out it needed injectors, coil packs and spark plugs because the original mechanic/ garage did a very poor job 1st time around and I did not find out until after 600 miles of driving the elm light came on and would not start. when my mechanic opened it up and said all the screws were loose and no seal etc. unfortunately for me it was a private sale so had to pay out of my own pocket but as a private sale it was much cheaper than buying from a garage, even with the additional garage bill. Great vid, and I think you had a similar car issue but unaware as you had not driven it enough to encounter them. My mechanic said these issues would of been undetected even by them on a test drive and inspection
Fair play to you for keeping your temper with these people, I don’t know how you do it, the stress is too much.
Rain appears in nine out of ten videos... :) Quite the typical weather!
Great episode, you looked stressed AF though, take a holiday, leave Toby in charge!
With a report like that one, there's no way any court would stand by that, in my opinion! Good luck.
All the issues reported on the scrap of paper are a direct result of the clutch renewal. Both ball joint gaiters destroyed when separating the bottom arms to extract the drive shafts and angle grinder damaged gearbox when cutting a bolt. All down to the owner.
You can bet that First Response are running their evidence and paperwork thru their lawyers "before" sending anything to you in writing. They will want to check that they have a reasonable case to defend if you take them to court. So they will delay and then if they respond they will be very cautious in their correspondence with you now that you have indicated you will take the legal route. Likewise you should be gathering your evidence and timelines. I personally think you have a good case. But what do I know, I'm not a lawyer 🤷
Toby back soon Joe so he is the calming influence that you need!
Deep breath in and breath out slowly, not sure if you ever heard this saying we have here in Liverpool Joe but it works really well! 😂
Calm down~Calm down~repeat several times.
Turn both hands palm downwards and imagine doing press ups in mid air at same time 👍
If possible wear black curly wig and draw on black moustache.
Love the content mate and hope that cheers you up!
Tony from Liverpool
Hope it goes well for you in court. Loved the Ford Ranger very smart. All the best.
Sorry to see what you're going through with that finance company. Kind've mirrors my business with no win no fee claims! Luckily (touch wood) we don't have many.
Outrageous behaviour from the buyer and supported by the finance company !!
Really good video as always mate, keep up the hard work. ❤
Hurry back Toby-He's sinking fast!!!
Silver wheels look so much better
Finance companies want all the profit for little risk …..fight them in court Joe 🇮🇪
Very interesting video Joe, what an utter joke with that finance fiasco. You always go above and beyond to help your customers and it’s annoying when people take the pee ❤
I wouldn't be dealing with first response ever again.Keep up the great content guys
I'd cut ties with the finance company Joe. Also don't sell anymore vehicles to him or any of his family, because these types will never be happy, they want to pay £2000 and expect a brand new full working car. I've had it with £500 vehicle, they expect it to drive like new Good luck mate, hope you sort it
@@CookieMonsterawr The trouble at that end of the market is whilst £500 to you might be a good night out, to the person buying the car it’s usually their life savings, the grief I used to get back in the day over £100 trade-ins was off the chart - even had a known Irish terrorist in demanding a refund, mind you he got one without any quibbling 😂
Here we go again! 🍿🥤
You need a wee holiday Joe what a load of unnecessary stress that shoddy finance company is causing you. Your dads Range looks superb parked at Berrow. Hope next weeks a better week for you mate.
Had the opportunity to stop by and check out the cars today on route to taking the kids to the beach.
Love the Jag XE, very nice. Also the Range Rover 3.0 ❤.
Guess you were out in the Cayman today. I would be too.
I had a a3 with a coolant leak nobody could find, it ended up having a new heater matrix, egr cooler and water pump.
So you had the Ford up for sale in late November 2023.
It MOT'd on 4th January '24 at 64511 miles
The 'independent napkin' report was at 68350 miles on 17th April '24
Since that report, its been driven nearly 2000 miles for another MOT on 16th July '24 at 70181 miles (failed and then retested)
Looks like it was Haverhill Car Xchange that bought it and have already sold it on at 70,171 miles, but no mention of the EML on the MOT or any significant issues on their end.
Might be worthwhile reaching out to Haverhill and asking if they can send you a copy of any vehicle health check they did when they got the car? Or any health check at the time of the MOT. Could go some way to help your defence if another dealer hasn't picked up the same issues as are being claimed.
I hope Haverhill havent sold it through finance as well!
Thank god your customer didn't get their money's worth from the car before binning it off. What a chancer.
might have been been financed at haverhill via first response , rinse and repeat haverhill hopefully watch shifting metal , hope its not the case cos first response wont have a leg to stand on in court if it turns out to be the case
actually i do hope first respnse have refinanced the car via another dealer because they would then need to be paying Joe 4k 😜
I find these videos very interesting. I don't have any ties with dealers or buying and selling of cars, but it's great to get an insight into the trade. We don't have vlogs by car dealers here in South Africa, but I should think the issues are the same. Keep them coming!
Feel the pain with the finance company. That seeker ranger is hard.
I'm happy to report so far....A3 has kept its coolant 😊 Keep your chin up, Joe. You & the guys have been amazing sorting my car & have made the whole car buying experience painless. Some people just want a Ferrari for the price of a fiat 🙄 Just feel sorry for the next person who sells that screamer a car 🤦♀️
Thanks Kelly! Glad the guys figured out the problem 😅
Lobster Claws look fantastic on the 911!
Stay calm mate. You know the truth of this case.
Thats crazy from the finance joke of a company joe , hopefully you'll get the right result in court mate, fingers crossed 🤞
Joe keep your chin up don't let the finance company get to you . Keep up the good work
Great video as always Joe.. great to watch on my Saturday night shift😀
I think anyone who has sold anything on Ebay knows exactly how you feel.....both about a company and the customers.
Keep going Joe,really enjoy your content,Don,r let the finance jockers get you down, life is to short
The finance Co might bottle going to court for £3800..👀
Joe, you have had a very rough week. Please take some time out and mind yourself. Alternative please don't have a good spiff 😂. Mind yourself and take care❤❤❤
I think you’re in the position now where you can choose what finance companies you want to work with. This whole fiasco was a joke!
The car finance issue will become more common as people look for ways to reduce their debt levels and, with car finance payments being a big one, that will be their first target. Sods law being applicable, this all coincides with a downturn in sales, with the added stress of limited cashflow but the same overheads. Time to stand firm on this tactic, as you intend to do; there is no longer any margin left to pander to these chancers. I have known people who spend their lives borrowing money and then refusing to repay it and become very agitated and abusive when it's suggested they should.
And add to the that the spike in car value around COVID and owing far far more than the used value, people who are comfortable playing the debt game are just going to stop paying.
Give them a call and ask when will they be sending you the email because your legal team are waiting for it. Brilliant videos keep them coming.👍👍👍👍👍 Take them to court.
Joe, you are looking well stressed, can’t believe what’s happening with the finance company, unbelievable!, but I guess they are trying it on. The 911 looks much better with the silver wheels 👍👍
I feel for you with that First Response company…
Shocking 😜 not good. Keep strong Brother and the team 🧠💪💚🤝.🙏
I think that you handled that admirably despite your obvious frustration and annoyance. Hopefully First Response wont be stupid enough to go to court over £4k
Totally agree with you ..court is a good move
I had a meeting with first response at Director level... they were openly saying how they screw businesses, laughing about it.
There is absolutely no loyalty.
You should make and upload content of your mechanics working on stock if you done that with that C MAX
I work for a finance broker (we actually deal with you), and can say confidently that it sounds like theyve been negligent! Anyone in the trade knows the type of deals you get from First Response and honeslty Joe I wouldn’t deal with them again if I were you… what a complete joke!!!
My mate got a car from a large group 25k 18 month old car 3 years ago never had any issues. They deal with less than prime credit but not all people in that boat are dodgy, got an extended warranty.
I actually feel sorry for a car dealer. Amazing!
I didn't know finance company's can do that kind of thing...is that not just like having a long term return warranty
