That is Ralph Mooney on the Pedal steel guitar and he is hands down the greatest player to ever live. Waylon was actually a fan of his and you will frequently hear Waylon say ,"pick it Moon" when his soloes come up. Every single video from this concert is FIRE. This was Waylon in his prime.
Waylon talked about in his book being basically the only white kiid to go listen and play with the black blues players at the clubs near him out in West Texas and you can always hear the southern blues influence. A lot of his stuff inadvertently is almost reggae-ish on an instrumental level without meaning to, plus the obvious Texas country and rock n roll vibe. Forget Elvis, Waylon is/was the KING.
Jennings was from Littlefield, Texas, right next to where I live. He’s got a lot of great songs. Check out “Don’t You Think This Outlaw Bit’s Done Got of Hand”.
@@scottcarr8738 It was Jennings that gave up his seat to the Big Bopper on that fatal plane that crashed the day the music died. Another member of Holly's band gave up his seat to Ritchie Valens.
@@easyrolling, Tommy Allsup flipped a coin with Ritchie Valens. J.P. Richardson (The Big Bopper) was sick with the flu. Their bus kept breaking down and the heater didn't work. Waylon gave up his seat to J.P. so that he can get to the next town and get checked out by a doctor. Buddy Holly and Waylon were best friends. Buddy joked with Waylon and said, " I hope your ol' bus freezes up". Waylon joked back, " I hope your ol' plane crashes". Waylon thought for years afterward that he caused that plane crash.
I’m not sure how you take requests but if you are going to react to Halloween themed songs you might want to try The Five Man Electrical Band (Canadian band). The song is called Werewolf.
Lord knows I love Waylon and a steel guitar .. Perfect to me. but I love pretty much every genre of music.. just stop with the slide guitar.. it's a steel guitar in country

I’d have left everything and everyone to follow Waylon around in those days.
That's a steel guitar. Using a slide to play a regular guitar is called playing "slide guitar".
Outlaw country is the best country music
Ornery - If you describe someone as ornery, you mean that they are bad-tempered, difficult, and often do things that are mean

Banger!!!
The only Waylon Jennings song I've ever heard before this was the opening theme to The Dukes of Hazzard TV show.
Go deep into Waylon's whole rabbit hole; you will not be disappointed. He even used to play bass for Buddy Holly if I remember right.
@@scottcarr8738 not a huge country music fan but I think he's got a good voice.
