It's a franchise, standards change from location to location. There are KFCs here that are night and day different. Some give you all drumsticks if you ask. Others say the portions are predetermined. One in particular lets you call in to prepare a fresh batch, but you can wait up to 3 hours before it's ready because there is a queue of other people also asking for fresh.
Even restaurants do this. As long as the temp is out of the danger zone you’re allowed to reheat up to 3 times. Even I was shocked by hearing this but imagine if you were the owner and by law you had to throw out all your product each day.

This reflects on the franchise owner more than KFC. KFCs food standards are pretty strict, and this is not how they teach their franchise owners to do things. I’m a sanitation practice consultant, and work with many fast food restaurants. Problems like this stem from shady franchise owners, looking to cut costs. I’m usually the guy that shows up when corporate takes over a restaurant due to problems like this. I train staff on how to prevent cross contamination, proper cleaning techniques, and how to properly store different types of foodstuffs.

@@avruvimtu2204 Yep that’s me. Kfc pays me to find random UA-cam videos, and post this message to hide the fact they serve spoiled chicken to their customers. You found me out Mr. Reddit detective.
Long story short, if any of you see something and you question it call the anonymous number that they gave you when you got hired at your job because what’s probably going on is probably not sanctioned by the company or the parent company or the owner and usually it’s just a rogue manager or a rogue a franchise owner
Heather Hurst reasoning for this is that many KFC’s tend to hire younger people and promote them to manager without them having any experience. Fast food restaurant attract younger groups of people then older and educated people. My older brother worked at a Burger King and had to quit due to the manager being lazy and not enforcing the rules given. This isn’t KFC’s fault entirely or at all depending on how you see it.
I agree with you Heather Hurst. I also used to work at KFC these people here are just wanting to get fired for lying. We used to throw away food at night or take it home, not dump it and resell it.
38 years as an owner and manager of A KFC, never did I ever sell any food that was left over at the end of the day. I would let the employees take it home with them. This video shows how a few stores run their business.
That's not the KFC way, that's a rogue franchise location. The manger is responsible if he is instructing people to operate this way. I worked at KFC a complete year my senior year in high school back on 1989 and we got in trouble for giving the days' leftover food to homeless who would come by at closing. So we started placing the food in containers, then inside a trash bag and placed it on top of the dumpster and instructed the people to wait and then go get the bag. The manager would literally stand at the door to see we threw it away. In his defense, it's a liability to give food to people out the back door and it can encourage people who are able to pay to come and get it free, AND it was dangerous to interact with people out a back door at night - we could have been robbed, or worse. We were all teenagers after all. So there are two sides, but we never kept ANY food to serve the next day and there were timeframes during the day we had to dump food. Leftovers at the end of the night were under 3 hours old. We could take it home or throw it out. A good manager and crew also know how to prep to avoid a lot of leftovers. #facts
Ok I work at KFC and this is NOT what we do lmaooo. We throw it away once it “goes bad” which is 4 hours after it’s brought out. Guess California does it differently🤢😂
Sorry you have to be jealous, over in obese land we like our food top quality and we would taste the smallest flaw immediately. we are clean, and we serve real food. The only reason I still eat at KFC is because when I go there I see clean, oh yeah, and after someone is finished with their food we don’t savor in a box and wait for the 4 hours to throw it away, hoping we can sneak it in someone’s meal to save money. We do it WAY differently. Instead of “keeping the food until it goes bad” we throw it out immediately. Your probably gonna say we waste food, and that’s exactly why I would never eat at whatever gross place your describing. We make a lot of money over here and we serve food immediately after it’s finished cooking, and the manager here would fire a worker if they tried serving leftovers. Your manager would fire you for wasting leftovers that haven’t crossed the “4 hour serving clock” it really grosses me out that whatever gross place would really eat that. I guess you still have a lot to learn. We don’t throw food away once it “goes bad” we throw it away after the person is done with it, even if they didn’t touch it we would absolutely not serve it to other customers. It grosses me out thinking about whatever gross place you live in actually serving eaten food. Please stay far away, KFC is supposed to be clean people who make money, not dirty people who serve leftovers.

There was alot of bad chicken because the cooler never stayed cold and the final straw was when I was told it's ok to serve chicken even if it was dropped on the floor.. the nasty ass chicken juice and grease covered floor. Don't eat at KFC and surely don't eat at any in the lake county area

@@RK-cj4oc I worked at kfc between 2011-2014 and it definitely has to do with management.
the kfc I worked at that tons of quality control and we would have to sanitize everything, every 1-2 hours and change out the food no more than 2 hrs later to maintain freshness. They were definitely a lot cleaner than most other restaurants back in the time. Idk how it is now though.

I worked at Kfc for years even promoted to manager and we NEVER DID that, every franchise is different I guess. I'd get so mad cuz we dumped so much food at the end of the night. As a long term ex fast food worker(almost every main fastfood ive worked there) this is and isnt the norm. It all depends on the store owner(not just the franchise) and most of all Budget for the owner and franchises budget.
Depending on one of 2 Taco Bell stores not even 10 miles apart would have different rules for sanitiation and food saftey, hell even employee safety was in question.
Shoot the main one I worked at had a A grade, but the older Taco Bell had a C+ just barely passing bugs in the kitchen, all day dirty bathrooms, and employees coughing sneezing over food, you name it I saw or heard 2nd hand what they did.
The old store employees hated working at the main store cause of the rules lol and I still dont eat at the older Taco Bell.

Heather Hurst You know triple H or sum?
Heather Hurst reasoning for this is that many KFC’s tend to hire younger people and promote them to manager without them having any experience. Fast food restaurant attract younger groups of people then older and educated people. My older brother worked at a Burger King and had to quit due to the manager being lazy and not enforcing the rules given. This isn’t KFC’s fault entirely or at all depending on how you see it.
exactly I'm currently at KFC we don't do this
I agree with you Heather Hurst. I also used to work at KFC these people here are just wanting to get fired for lying. We used to throw away food at night or take it home, not dump it and resell it.

#facts
Thats what we did too back in the 80's. We gave it away instead of throwing it out. At least send it too shelters.
A fast food place I worked at, had to throw leftover away, because the Cook's were caught intentionally cooking extra so they could take home at night

When I worked at McDonald and the manager made us throw everything away. It all depends on the manager not the company brand.
Ok I work at KFC and this is NOT what we do lmaooo. We throw it away once it “goes bad” which is 4 hours after it’s brought out. Guess California does it differently🤢😂
Video is 8 years old , calm down
Sorry you have to be jealous, over in obese land we like our food top quality and we would taste the smallest flaw immediately. we are clean, and we serve real food.
