Willys Jeep FRONT (10 Leaf) Leaf Spring Installation [easy to follow steps]

How to install Willys Jeep front leaf springs (10 leaf) to the frame. First, install the leaf spring to frame shackle bracket (threaded) and leaf spring to frame pivot eye bracket to the frame. Then attach leaf springs to Dana 25 front axel using four leaf spring U-bolts to install. Lastly, install leaf spring and axel assembly to frame. Thread leaf spring shackle (right hand thread and left hand thread) directly to leaf spring and shackle bracket. Press pivot eye bolt through the pivot eye bolt bracket and through the leaf spring (note: leaf spring has pivot eye bushing installed). Finally, tighten both pivot eye bolts and shackles too secure.
TORQUE SPECS:
- Pivot Eye Bolt (30 ft/lbs)
- Leaf spring U-bolts 7/16" (50 ft/lbs)

During the harsh winter months in Canada we decided to take the Willys apart, fix a few parts, and get it back on the road. Then repeat this the next winter. During the winter of 2021 we rebuilt the brakes and basic engine upgrades (spark plugs, water pump, distributor, ignition coil, etc.). THIS winter of 2022 we are tackling to replace the transmission and transfercase but finding lots of other problems deep within the engine.
