Working on the Dana 25 still- backlash and pinion

- I have been working on this front axle Dana 25 for my M38 jeep for a few weeks. Lots of job interference and also just not having all the parts I needed really set me back. But- I have the set up bearings done, parts cleaned on the Dana 25, and the shims set for the proper pinion and backlash measurements. I did a ring gear tooth contact test and it came out nice.
Getting promotion at work- nothing like going from E7 to O3E in 23 months!
Promotion requires a transfer of units. This will be my final one as I will retire in 3.5 years. - Авто та транспорт

Yeah it is, but since this whole thing started my crew of 105 has been working every day, close zoned and wearing masks (sort of- I bark at people all day to put it on IAW commandants orders). Anyway, only 3 of our crew has had the COVID and they got it from their spouse... zero transfer between crew- we’ve sailed two patrols since all this and zero port calls.

Thanks. Yeah no idea and oh well-their loss. Maybe it’s cause I don’t do gimmicks, or catch titles, You tube is strange... I recently got a round of suggested videos and they were all these channels that feature young model looking girls fumbling around a garage with some dude trying to tell them how to do stuff- all for the views and it was just creepy.
I wish I could post more progress but with my job I’m deploying all the time.
I know this is an older video but it's still relevant and helpful. I was wondering how I was going to create my setup bearings and had forgotten that I have a similar grinding stone for a drill. Good to see your process. I have the same fun ahead of me x2, and maybe x4 if I feel like reworking the old axles I'm replacing. (I'm late to the video for the promotion news but just in time for the retirement!)
Moving forward, that is always good. Quadratec burned me on some headlight parts. They knowingly sent me part that would not work for my application. The quality was poor too! I am pretty close to retiring out the fire service. I am pretty excited.
Awesome about the upcoming retirement. I don’t have plans for where I will retire... I want to stay on the east coast, find a little house with a bigger property, less nosy neighbors and a shop to build on my property- more projects and schnauzers lol. 3 years is all I will need to do. Then a retirement job can be a part time one at age 43.

@@mrchevytrucks666 up for today i will be hopefully finishing this DANA 25 and start doing shim placement for the DANA 44 rear axle. I rattle can painted the rims the other day (will rain today in VA) and hope to get the axles put in the leaf springs this weekend. lots to come before i sail again in the 21.
So are you going to be an EO on a WMEC?
Yup- very possible! Especially when your OERs say you'd be good at it.. what ever keeps me in my house! If that happens I need to hire a pupsitter for the patrols. My mom is coming out soon for my next trip but her health is starting to go with kidney disease.
How many years you got in? I pulled the plug at 25, I was geobaching it and had enough, went home back to Oregon. Got into Wildland fire fighting after Coast Guard, been doing it for 13 years. Congratulations on making O-3, was wondering if you thought about it or finishing out at W-4.
I hit 22 in early January. I dod think about going up thru W4. I wouldn't be able to make and hold W4 by 30 years, and I DO NOT want to do 30 years. High three will put me at 25.5 years. If I time it right, I might be able to pull off 26 and a month. Lots of headaches to follow if I take an EO ride but its the quickest way to retirement with the most $ I can get.
