Front Leaf Spring Removal Service for Jeep Willys MB / Ford GPW

This video shows how to remove the front leaf springs on a vintage WW2 jeep. Please refer to technical manual TM 9-1803B paragraph 36 for detailed service instructions.

Quick Question: I gotta replace just my FRONT leaf spring shackle / brackets they are basically two metal plates with an upper and lower long bolt. Can you please tell me What To JACK up and What to Not Jack Up,... so that when I remove the lower long bolt from through the leaf spring ending....it doesn't SPRING & BAM & FLY About.... ((I have never attempted this before))

Replacing the front springs corrected most of the jeep lean. The old front springs were so worn and strained, I decided to replace the rear springs too.

Why didn't you film replacing the springs ?

It takes at least twice as long to do the work when I film because I have to keep moving the camera and stuff. Besides, installing new springs is pretty much the reverse of removing the old ones.
