I think it is ironic that for the TV version they have used the solution of the originally released PIP Boy by inserting an Iphone to get a realistic looking PIP Boy instead of complicated engineering, as much as I respect everyone who spends the time to make those fantastic pieces like yours.
Its TV/movie. It has to look as good for the least amount of money

I've had mine preordered over a month. This has been great being fed these lil updates every couple weeks, they're absolutely making the best PipBoy prop for the price! Bethesda should've hired them for season 2 lol
Same. I watched the show, got hooked, saw the preorder, did it just because. Every update I've seen about this thing makes me more excited.
I think the paint job on the replica is the only thing I wish was a little closer. The prop just seems more like actual metal and the prototype just is lacking a bit. I wonder if they used alumaluster for it? Still excited though, can't wait to get it either way. Preordered mine months ago.
The final version will be made of actual metal. Having seen it in person I will say that the prop you can get will be awesome!
I hope the replica will include the latching magnets. That is actually a good idea to keep it more secure while wearing it.
Fortune favors the brave Jeremy, and my God lately you have been so brave in contacting all these people bringing them all to your space showing all us fans amazing things that are coming in the pipeline. A really cool video again it's so nice to handle the the actual prop but yeah should I believe the one we are getting will be superior in every way because I think it has to be and I couldn't be happier for it

Second comment from me, and I know you don't have any say in the product but I wanna say it again, maximum screen brightness style of flashlight could so be implemented with little to no extra cost. And it'd be just like the games, I'm certain most ordering this wouldn't mind the flashlight being different from the show rather than completely non-existent.

Already working on a flashlight attachment, probably not going to make any attempt to connect it to the Pip-boy properly but thinking of just modifying the casing of a small pen light and keeping the button to turn it on/off

It’s unfortunate for those who ordered after April 17th won’t see it until February 2025. I was hoping to use it for a cosplay or Halloween costume. I’d get the pip boy 2000 kit but people selling them for $500 is wild.
I know. They have made comments about trying to get out sooner, but probably not thar much.
Wasn't the original release date after Halloween anyways? By like, an entire month? A Costume, Getting the Fallout 4 mk 4 and matte spraying it would probably be the best and most simple solution

@@YourGeekFix Yeah for an upcoming convention I actually took my old special edition pip boy and kitted it out with LEDs, a screen, and a full laquer repaint + rust and dirt detailing.
I chose a matte look for it, but In the game the model appears to be a glossy olive drab brown powder coated metal. With the time frame I have I didn't feel I could achieve the intended effect and it would just loop back around to looking like cheap glossy plastic. Love the work you do btw

Hmm, I remember in one of the videos from a behind the scenes they said the screen was cgi. But here you show it's not. Now I'm confused.

Definitely modding mine the minute I receive it to have a flashlight and a Holotape deck. Those are essential PIp-Boy features.
Will I be the first to mod a PIp-Boy again? Probably not this time around because the hype is so much higher now for Fallout lol.
You can try. The problem is, the show also has a different holotape, close to the original Fallot. My holotapes are too big.

I'll have mine preordered by next Wednesday, I'll be able to afford it by then, I honestly can't wait. I missed out on the Fallout 4 special edition, recently purchased the Mini Nuke S.P.E.C.I.A.L. edition and am getting a replica 3D printed that works just like the Fallout 4 Pip-Boy. I'll be tracking down an old phone that will fit the phone compartment and be using it on my arm when I get to playing Fallout 4, just like the special edition Pip-Boy. Some work needs to be done, not just the painting process, but some extra parts I need to buy; and install. Gonna be fun. Does anybody else feel a compulsion to wear that Wand Pip-Boy as an everyday watch? Is it going to be waterproof 🤣?

On the pipboy the wand company is making they do, but they did not on the screen used prop.

It's really a shame the lack of the flashlight, I thought it was a simple addition... walking around at night or in a dark area with a retro-illuminated pip-boy, pointing your arm and illuminating the environment with an integrated flashlight, would have been so cool, so immersive!

I just want to second his opinion here. Even if it was a maximum brightness screen setting style of "flashlight" as how the games are, that would be amazing as well. Both ideas, led torch and bright-screen, seem so easily implemented. Especially the latter! Software can make that happen so easy for the screen-light.
@@TheeohnM that's interesting as well, though it would be difficult to point the screen towards the environment as a flashlight 😂 there should be some dedicated led points on the right side of the pip-boy. How much space could they take up in the internal electronics? 🤷🏻

Yeah I honestly don't make much, and most of it goes towards food. I stream on the side but make nothing off that, and I don't do it for money so I'm not pushing that.

If they can’t put the flashlight in because it doesn’t fit, they really should add the flashlight similar to the games, so that the whole screen will light up and work like flashlight. Issue is, I’m pretty sure that doesn’t happen in the show. But it still would be a nice feature.
That's not the reason. If you make something a flashlight, there are regulations that would add months and money to the project.
But if it's just a maximum screen brightness quick-setting thing, and only labeled as "light" on the UI?
There will be a mode where the whole screen lights up... I'm sure though it will only help you when it's really dark.

It is the 3000 mk v. The 2000 has several versions I would love to own.

Yes it is expensive but just think of what it will cost you if you missed out it'll be twice that price on eBay it could reach into the thousands who knows get it while it's hot and new and original price don't wait.

pity they went with just a clear plastic front over the screen rather than something more like a lens like the original. glad they haven't weathered it too much though, leaves it for me to do :) half the fun is repainting replicas to be more screen accurate!

The worst looking pip boy out of all the pip boys. I’m still gonna buy it as I own every single pipboy edition released by Bethesda, but this one just sucks. Just a Crome pipboy. There is no soul in this one. Even the pipboy 3000 in fallout 3 and New Vegas had more to it. I have the 3 collectors edition pipboy clock that I love and it looks way more interesting. The only upgrades with this one is that it has a radio, changes screens, and is metal and not plastic.
