What a wonderful end to this adventure! This video has brought so much insight into the production of the Pip-Boy. The team really did a great job with what they could and I'm so glad I was able to get my hands on one with all the add-ons. They're beautiful pieces of art. And thank you for tearing apart yours so I don't have to. 😂

Blinded? No, It's more like I was *Awestruck* and this Pip-Boy was an exception. But Honestly, this is an Incredible Journey to see and thank you for taking the time to make that Magnum Opus. Chris Bernardo must have enjoyed your designs.
it surprised me that the geiger counter was not small enough for the 3 buttons to be usable.
I have considered making the 2000(not the 2000 mark VI), though I feel there may be quite a challenge to recreate since the majority of the parts are difficult to fit into a condensed shell.
good luck in your 2nd recreation of the icoinic pipboy. may your progress be fruitfull.

      @@YourGeekFix , there are ways.
1st option blurry transparent material: makes the numbers appear more rounder.
2nd option: rounded transparent. Same but take the og mold and create a mold using clear (type used to make dnd dice) resin. And slap it on top of digital clock(note make sure the digital numbers fit where the mold directs it to)
      Of coarse it is OPTIONAL.
      Thx for your thoughts though.

Where did you say the sound was coming from when you loaded up the holotape? You're like, freakishly close to making a real working Pip-boy is drives me nuts... Like, all you'd need now is an os that works like the Pip-boy while still giving access to all the important settings and stuff, what about a script that automatically plays whatever is on a holotape when it's read, auto connecting to their wifi when their name is noticed etc. if you put some guts in the upper area with the big button on it you could maybe use that button to turn the whole phone part on and off, maybe make different clicks do different things; single press for sleep, double for flashlight, long press for shutdown. It would be an elegant move to replace those fake rubber ribbons with the real thing too, durability may come into question though.
I think the fitbit for the clock was a fine solution, and if it were on a low brightness setting and powered by the phone somehow it would be honestly perfect to keep it on at all times.
I've never been too clear on how the radio module actually worked for changing stations either, like, did the knob scan for stations and just pick what it found, or were you actually scanning around with the knob. I kow the rubber band and the finger on the dial are for show so I'm not too sure what logic it's using to tune into FM radio if any.

      @riceniceman548 5 місяців тому

One day I will get a second kit or replicate the parts somehow and try to make these changes to it, I think it would be a big win to find a way to power the whole thing from one source even if you turn on separate parts one at a time.
I don't know if they exist but if there were domed touch screens that could be like the holy grail solution to making everything just look right, I don't know if that would be possible though. Touch controls on the Pip-boy are not strictly part of the universe but in playing on mouse and keyboard the idea that you press specifically where you want to press somehow feels natural to me and I would want to endeavor to have that implemented over the knobs and buttons actually doing anything on the screen end, those knobs and switches are carrying the other modules anyway, maybe one free knob for volume or brightness I don't know.

@@riceniceman548 Sounds good. The top is where the speaker is. The red button turns it on and off. The cables to charge that are the ribbons you see, not the rubber ones. The black knob lets me use the assistant and put the phone in different modes. The phone also allows me to access and sai hi to another pipboy made this way.. Nate Purkeypile, the head artist for 76 said the two knobs could never do the extent of what it does in the game. You would need more knobs or a topuch screen, my touch screen makes me happy. The great thing about phone tech is that a lot fits in a small quarter inch space. Best of luck.

The Easyest fix for Musik is taking over voice: Equalyser the musik and the voice :D
i make some Movi likeGaming stuff, so i deal whif alott Lout musik and Voice all the time. My best methode is, wen voice is there, the musik get mor bass, make the middlefrequenses alot quieter and reduse a litlebit the hig tones. Whif that you even can wisper over musik.
The voice of caus need som EQ as well. easy say: voices are generel very midtonehavy.vor better understanding it, you need the higer tones. Here yyou must be carefule,to not bring to mutch hig frequenses up. Spechaly 3k-12k frequenses are very individual vor any other human voice. also it helpt alot to brting down the around 800hz frequencys, to get rid of the telefon destortion, or the destortion/resonance effekts of mikrofone housings. it also sound mutch easyer on hadfones, bekaus this frequencys we humans are trained to listen there, so it is very sensiv, and a comressor, or normaliser voce stuff overshouting this very sensive parts of our listening.
also, voices shod be not overcomress, compressor is nice, but not all the time. compressors give typikal the feeling of shauting, bekaus basstones come visable to late, mittones often way to loud, and hisounds are tend to wash out. Better is to Equalys first, stet volume, and than give a little bit compression over it, and maby corekt again the eq. and if you arnt happy whif it, reset all, beginn from new.
the realy important thing is also, to have very neutral mixing hadvones. like Senhiser HD440 are grade. (Hadfones soud be not to crasy in bass, like the sony ones, this are not good for mixing. it result in mostly to less bass in edeting, and also to highevy. also its not got to use hadfones whil to less bass, bekaus that end in having to much bass or in to less higs. so it muust be a very neutral sounding one ;D)
And do not use automatik volume reducer vor the musik.i know there are tools out there, that automatikly bring musikvolumes down, wen voice audio is playing. this is very anoing to here and add nothing good ;D but put manual musik down is mostly a good idee, in fitting situations of cause ;D Example: a Fallout merch fake add must be whif lound musik and voce, ad the beginning, but then fast the musik make room vor the voice, and also go fast bach in full volume, wen the voice end and the musik is left.
