You're absolutely right about the nutmeg. You can't taste it but it just adds something that's so SPOT ON. I always use it with a white sauce along with just a pinch of cayenne pepper. Another thing you can't taste but does wonders for background flavor. Excellent video.:o)
Tonithenightowl I used non salted spices because I had no nutmeg and it turned out perfect. just seeing people liked it with nutmeg now I want to try it

I made this Fettuccine Alfredo for Christmas yesterday and OMGOODNESS it was so delicious. I will never go back to jar alfredo! Everyone loved it and couldn't get enough. Definitely a keeper and will be making it again. Thank you Joe for sharing this wonderful recipe.
>red towel over shoulder
>has the parted haircut
>does the hand motions of an italian
Okay im listening
He even laughs Italian. 11:34
And he’s actually quite handsome tho 🌝
@Jason H yep 🤣
He's got them really hairy Italian arms too!
@@HM-rj5rv very handsome!
Second time I'm making this so good. My husband said he knows how to make this, love him but no he does not. I like Italian Joe's version. Lol
Is the wine necessary?
Thank you from QLD Australia ... I have been looking for a delicious authentic recipe to go with my home made pasta. Joe, I appreciate you sharing your skills with me.
I knew this guy would blow up. Best Italian American cooking channel on youtube
You're absolutely right about the nutmeg. You can't taste it but it just adds something that's so SPOT ON. I always use it with a white sauce along with just a pinch of cayenne pepper. Another thing you can't taste but does wonders for background flavor. Excellent video.:o)
Tonithenightowl I used non salted spices because I had no nutmeg and it turned out perfect. just seeing people liked it with nutmeg now I want to try it
Thomas, I use garlic and onion powder and some dry mustard too. Trust me when I say use the NUTMEG sparingly lol A pinch will do.:o)
yep nutmeg adds a nice flavor to cheese dishes especially. So great and subtle, nice in mac n cheese also, so good =)
I've never tried a bit of nutmeg or cayenne in a recipe but I will. I don't now what it is but I've heard a bit of black paint added white paint makes it whiter.
It’s like using anchovies in a dish... it doesn’t taste anchovies.
I love this man. He has his recipes down to a science. A man who can cook with this passion is a thing of beauty.
I love it! Thanks for the recipe. Love your stories too.
Thank you for this great recipe. Taste is something personal, so I love the taste of nutmeg in white sauces.
I just came across your videos and I just LOVE them. I even smell it and my mouth is watering here. I have to eat before I watch these videos. Holy cow. This channel is a keeper.
This is actually one of the best recipes I've seen on youtube. Complex, but perfectly thought out at each step, and perfectly executed at every level. I personally would skip the Romano and onions, because it's less traditional than I am going for, but nonetheless for what it is, I'm impressed.
+bluecrabsandsushi2 OMG, this is the best ever for sure. I would eat this everyday if I could with the calories. Pull this one out a few times a year for sure and it is awesome. Thank you for the kind words and please subscribe. Joe
Lolz, you actually can, you'd just have to burn off all those calories through lots of exercise, that's all!~ =D
bluecrabsandsushi2. AGREE. no onions.
bluecrabsandsushi2 I personally would skip the wine but everything else looks good
Denise Waters why would you skip the, wine? The alcohol burns off, its bareley detectable!
Got me salivating here. That looks really good. Thanks for sharing. 😌💖
Sir, that's beautiful I really enjoy the harmony, the family story, and the way you combine the ingredients....love it...
First off, best Alfredo I've ever had in my life.
Second, this guy is precious. I could watch all day.
My dad taught me the spoon trick as a little kid, best way to eat pasta. Thanks for the recipe!
Divine, divine, divine! Thank you for sharing your recipe and good tidings to you!
Just made this on Christmas. By far the best I've had. Just don't tell my Mom lol
I received my olive oil in the mail from you yesterday! I am so excited to cook this today!! 👏🤗💙
Wonderful!
Major props. You made me look like a rock star. I made this today for my beautiful wife for Valentine’s Day. I added King Crab.
Thanks for specifying that the butter was unsalted. So many people leave that out.
+Leah Luyando Hello Leah, thank you and yes will be sure to keep the details on the mark. I will admit I will at times forget something on the video and for this I am sorry. Thank you for watching, Joe.
They leave it out because its clear wheather to use salted or unsalted one
@@eliasmuller2442 it's not clear
Well in most of the europeen recipes it's not mentioned and we all know what to use. So yes it is just think
All real chiefs use un slated butter. :0)
That looks so good! Making it tonight. I love my People!❤️Italia❤️
my first taste of an Itailian dish called : Fettuccine and will always know this is still my favorite dish plus so many more....
That fettuccine Alfredo is really looking great and I love eating that dish and especially when shrimp is in it.
Ok. My picture came out sideways. Sigh... But for sure this recipe came out right! Very well done, young man! Delicious and goes down oh so perfectly with wine! Thanks for the great recipe...bon appetite!
Just made this absolutely delicious. I didn't have wine or parmesan cheese, and It was still awesome. Also used salted butter, didn't have unsalted. Just don't add salt. Thank you Joe! One more thing this dish cannot be reheated in the microwave, you have to eat the second it's made.
DUUUUUDE!!! THIS IS ACTUALLY DELICIOUS!! I was honestly doubting cuz usually is regular okey, but like the recipe is legit a restaurant recipe. THANKS!!!
It's so good!
This is one of the best recipes I've tried!
My grandma came from Rome she never added onion or wine but it sounds delicious I’d try it the next time❤❤❤❤❤thanks
Joe I love ur food channel u talk step by step n showed everyone well of how 2 make this dish
You should have a food Network show. You're very charismatic and this recipe looks amazing
I made this during the pandemic and tonight. SO GOOD! I was able to follow you this time. Thank you Joe (I assume from North Jersey)
Suggestion: Never brown the garlic. Put it in after the onion has cooked a bit.
Exactly. Makes it bitter. I would add it with the butter. But I use a garlic press so it's minced. It just melts away and once you add the wine it cooks it thoroughly. But you already knew that. Lol
🖤
Going one small step beyond sweating isn't browning. I so love these brilliant 'I know better' comments from people who aren't cooking.
He burnt the garlic
@@jimmyp6443 ...Yes, he did.
Especially in white sauces like this , it gives off a slight bitter aftertaste
You are a very good teacher. I enjoy the extra info you add!
Joe I know you're about 10 yrs. older now but in my opinion you are the Alfredo "King." With all Do Respect to the other Chefs. I hope life is treating you well. God Bless.
This is really usefull for carbo loading in a 5k fun run
Lego Anakin I’m so glad I get this
Oh My G....people are so funny
For the cure ✊
Or watching Netflix all night 😒
😂
I've made alfredo many times and just recently for a friend from Naples who had 3 full plate servings and said it was delicious. But this recipe and technique is different from what I do. Will try this next time because I think it will be even better.

Fantastic!
Blue Shirt Handyman thanks for this review! I was looking for a comment by someone who’s made this and liked it.
@@vr6535 No problem i just like to give credit where credit is due.. Like i said i cook alot. After i get home from work im in the kitchen. Today i made longanisa tacos. Let me know how you're Alfred comes out.
I disagree with AD108- I loved hearing you talk ! not sure which I was drooling over, you or the dish :) great recipe !! loved it ! thank you !
You cook with sooo much love that is why it will always taste good!
Yes, thank you
worked for an italian chef who would use two cubes of blue cheese instead and simply garnish the fettuccini with parm at the end. Reason being the dish would be lighter due to less cheese but still have a strong cheese flavor.
The real secret ingredient is learning how to cook it yourself at home. Once you master the process no restaurant can come close.
SEAN
Exactly :)
love the passion as you talk about your recipe!
Thank you so much!
I made this for my family and they loved it😁

@@jemuel31 you can also use whie wine
He is actually using chardonnay if you go down far enough in the comments he says that
