FAQ:
Who is this lady?
Gina Petitti was born in 1935 in Faeto, Italy. Her family ran a farm in Italy and she met her husband, Vito, in the same town. In 1970 Gina, Vito, and her 4 children immigrated to America. Gina’s husband passed away in 2012, but she is surrounded by a large family, which includes 9 grandchildren, and lives 5 minutes away from her eldest daughter in New Jersey. Gina spends her time cooking, gardening, and being an active member of her local Church.
Where does Gina get her recipes?
Most of these recipes are from what she learned growing up in Italy, but some of them have evolved over time. She has also learned new recipes from friends and family in America. She is always eager to try new things.
Why is no one helping her in the video?
Grandma Gina doesn’t want help! Usually, it’s because we will slow her down or not do it “her way.” For the videos we only show her, but when the camera cuts we jump in and help form the cookies or prep for the next step.
Why don’t we buy her a new...?
Grandma Gina has a closet and garage full of new gadgets, spoons, forks, pots, etc… but she doesn’t like them because she is used to doing it with her old tools. She has fun getting her hands dirty!
Who is behind the camera?
Her retired son-in-law films, her daughter helps her prep, and she usually has one or two grandkids in the kitchen.
Does Gina read the comments?
We print out and show her how much love she gets from all her viewers, and she is very thankful and hopes you enjoy her cooking! Your comments bring her lots of joy, laughter, and inspiration to make more videos to share with you.
Thank you for watching, we hope you subscribe, and we will see you in our next video! - Навчання та стиль
When you're sweet mother- in-law loves you enough to cook your favorite meal, sing you a song, and pray for your recovery.....you are really blessed!
Amen truely blessed in deed ....Amen
God bless her beautiful soul 😘♥️ reminds me of someone dear to me
You are so blessed! I stumbled upon her profile few months ago looking for a bread recipe. Now I refuse to try any other italian dish besides hers! I started following her on Instagram also
I had an Italian MIL and she sure didn't treat me that way! Would have been nice though!
So true! ♡ That's the kind of mother-in-law I try to be.
I miss my Nonna Ana...She said "Teresa you buy flower for me" so I bought her a beautiful Tulip ...she laughed so hard and say flower to make a bread...I realized flour...we laughed so hard.. those were our precious moments together
jajajajja now that was funny
That's adorable. I laughed tons with my granny too. Priceless unforgettable memories.
😂😂😂😂😂
that is SO cute though 😭
That is so precious 💕💕
A real woman, a real mom, a real mother in law.. a real cook.. all with love ❤️.. we need more women like her !
Absolutely!
They were trained away!
Unlike all those other…fake…? Women?

Imagine growing up eating this food everyday and made by someone as incredible as her. Family was truly blessed ❤

no this is not a traditional dish among italians but I'm guessing she makes it for her in-law bc it's popular in the US
She's the reason why we gotta protect all the old folks at all costs
They're not all created equally 😂. She is exceptionally exquisite
They are treasures that the young often over look, they can teach us soooo much Thank you mama Gina
🙏🏼😢😭 truth
I believe Gina is from the era of Italians who don't die until they want to. As long as she stays this active she will be here a long time. I'm sitting at her table in spirit and next to me is God, who blesses her food and the beautiful lady who made it.
Thank you for all your amazing recepies. My family love all your food so much. You are the Italian grandmother for our family in Australia. My family love your food and watching your videos. All your experience in Italian cooking is worth millions. My son 11 and my daughter 7 run to the phone when I play your videos before I cook. My daughter dances to the Italian music. You are a blessing.... God Bless Anna xx XxX
I can’t even pay attention to the recipe, she’s too cute 😂

What a beautiful blessing Gina is. She has brought happy tears when she asked GOD to Bless America, and to bless the WORLD.❤
I just came across Grandma Gina. I’m so glad I found her! What a gem☺️ I bet everything she cooks is delicious 😋 Thank you grandma Gina for sharing with the world❤️
My favorite Italian translation: “Liddle bah liddle” = “dump all of the cream at once.”
The French equivalent is... just a little splash of wine.
I thought the same lol
Everyone that shows recipes is like that. She also says very very low flame and proceeds to put it on medium. Gordon Ramsey says a splash of olive oil and puts like half a cup. Most say things like it takes 5 mins to make but it's actually 45 minutes. Can never trust anything with recipes, really. At least, it's very hard to completely mess something up even with approximations.
"2 shots of vodka"
haahahaha **loses patience and throws the whole cheese plate on the pan**
Grandmas like this, like mine, like yours, will never be born again 😭😭 Their whole life was just to be there for their family ❤️
This is something that the world can learn from in this fast paced technologically advanced world. Go back to the basics. Maybe there is hope for the world yet
This is amazing

Damn bro that hit me so hard that is so true lol
NONNA!!!
I just discovered Grandma on UA-cam. I was tired of politics. Love her heavy accent and her cooking. She makes me smile AND hungry. Love when she breaks into song. What a lovely lady. Bravo!
Brava!
Exactly the same here. Tired of politics, love her accent, love her singing, love the care she puts into her cooking, all from scratch but simple!❤❤❤❤
I only speak English so I didn't understand a word but the emotion and the gusto with which she sang was so beautiful!! What a beautiful spirit she has!
she broke my heart when her hand started shaking holding the spoon, she's still committed to cook and provide for her family, I love her for that. She reminds me of my grandma may she rest in peace. May god bless her soul

If she has hand tremors or Parkinson’s, Jayden’s Juice CBD tincture can help her. It’s ratio is 20:1 CBD:THC 1mg thc to activate the THC she will not feel euphoria from the drops.
I'm italian. When She sings at 14:32 I cry. I see my culture, my grand-mothers, my country... We called it "poesia".
My mother was 100%Sici and she used to sing when she cooked.

I had a 80 year old grandma who would throw things on the stove and everything she made tasted delicious. The simplest things but it was magic. My grandma was from Jamaica but this Italian Nona reminds me of mine. Blessings to her. You can tell she loves cooking for her kids and grandkids.
I thonk making it out of love is the key ingredient tto amy meal tasting better. You can tell the difference when they enjoy cooking and doing it out of love verses not being that way or having an off day. Yes it helps if they already know how toncook good. But that other stuff makes it way better for some reason 😊.
We all have a little bit of Italian 🇮🇹 in our hearts ❤️ I am from El Salvador, but I love Italian food, and I did her recipe, yummy 😋 thank you grandma Gina 🙏🏻🌹

I used to live with an Italian family. She reminds me so much of the grandma. She taught me how to make fettuccine and fried eggplant, how to make canned tomato sauce for an entire year. It’s a shame I don’t remember anything.

Hello Christina
awe... lol she is too cute
What Italian people don't realize is that most of the American variations of traditional Italian recipes were invented by Italian immigrants themselves.
Mediterranean ingredients couldn't be found in US at the time, or were just too expensive/different from the ones in Italy, so they had to invent new recipes using the ingredients that could be easily purchased in US.
These recipes may not be traditionally Italian, but they are part of the Italian-American history and culture.
So, even though it's rare to find fettuccine Alfredo here in Italy, I still respect this grandma and the love and effort she puts in here dishes.
Gli Italiani accettano con piacere le eventuali modifiche, a non spacciate ricette che sono icone della nostra cultura come tali. per noi e' un'offesa. Cabiate piuttosto nome e magari le proveremo anche noi. Rifletti prima di scrivere.
It is not rare to fine fettuccine Alfredo in italy, It is just impossible
@@filippomatteini1475 True... 😢 only few restaurants make them.
Okay great, now keep that abomination in america, thanks
you are so right...my family came to Elise Island and then to NJ, some to Boston, some to NY some to Chicago. They all adapted to what ingredients they had to continue what they fed their families back home. Watch her early bread and past making videos...and when she shares her memories and sings, well, it's from her heart.
Beautiful! Beautiful food. Beautiful singing. Beautiful woman. Thank you Gina! 💜💜💜

Who needs the Food Network with their clown "celebrity chefs" when you can get a real cook like Italian Grandma here on youtube? Thank you Gina!
Absolutely!...Especially Guy Fieri and Giada DeLaurentis. I just watched a little of Lidia Bastianich. Snobby, boring and food didn't look nearly as appetizing as Nonna Gina's.
Plus, don't you wish you could get a nice warm Grandma hug from her? And you know she will have a nice tin of cookies/biscotti and set some out on a little plate for you.
Absolutely!
Enough said ! Definitely we do not 👍🏻
Usia55 Too TRUE. All silly game shows and repeats!!
I love to hear you speak Italian. It brings me back to being a young girl. It's wonderful to watch you cook and listen to you speak in English and Italian. Thank you for doing these videos.
Gina and family, thank you for sharing your recipes and your joy for cooking and life. Gina reminds me so much of my beloved grandmother who came from Potenza as a young girl and connected with her grandkids through her cooking and her stories. She had such an impact I have passed her joy along to my now young adult children. Your videos allow me to give my kids a view into what their great grandma Corizzo was

Oh my! She is so cute. I almost cry when she sang. God bless everyone for having people like her in their lives. Thank you so much for sharing a wonderful homemade recipe.
That song at the end was so wholesome. Such a beautiful memory she shared with us. It made me cry to think about my great grandmother in Mexico who grew up on a ranch near a river and had her children on that ranch and my grandmother had her children (my father on that ranch) and they all washed their clothes in that river.
I'm crying with kleenex all over my lap. You bring back so many memories with gramma making THE best dishes for us. When she was cooking she would sing praises really loud in the kitchen giving glory to God. She would ALWAYS have something ready for us. Miss her so much. Thank you Gina for your fine cooking.

So many rude, miserable people around, who want to spread their negativity. They are disturbed.
Buongiorno to my new friend...Gina! I wish I could tell you how you have brought joy back into my life by preparing foods in the ways I was taught while I was being raised! So much has been lost because the traditions were not taught, instilled or cared about in the next generations. When I watched you prepare your fresh tomatoes for canning, you brought back all my happy memories of my Aunt Concetta and Uncle Carme sweating in their basement for days on end when jarring their own home grown tomatoes! I was raised in two completely different kitchens! They may be two very different cuisines (One was Italian, the other German) but each was solidly based in the FRESHEST ingredients. They were the basis for all the wonderful delights I ate and ultimately prepared in my own kitchen. I am now 77 and have been cooking since age 6. Of course, I've developed my own ways...but all are based in the European traditions & I do cook some American foods as well. This must be passed down to every generation or they will never know what great food is! God Bless YOU Gina, for what you do and HOW you do it. Grazie de tutto! Buona Fortuna, Gina...ti auguro il meglio.

I remember, I was about three years old, my grandmother was still doing the laundry in a steel tub of water and she used a washboard. No washing machine back in the day. (And she had 14 children!) The water coming into the house was cold water only. If you wanted hot you had to make a fire in the stove first, heat the water and carry on from there. My auntie bought her a washing machine when she was able to do so. That was somewhere around 1970 or so. By then my grandparents were old, their children grown. My grandfather passed in 1970, aged 76. I think, we are very spoiled today with our household machines and gadgets. We have no real concept of how hard people like Gina or my grandparents, or even my own mother (now 84) had to work just to do their daily, basic chores. Thank you, Gina, for sharing and singing!

I adore you so much. They aren't enough Grandmas like this around. I love your singing and your rich Italian heritage. I feel like I'm in Italy with you.
I'm in love. I will forever think of Gina when I make Fettuccine Alfredo or when I need to feel a little more happiness that people like her exist.
Oh my goodness I agree!!! 🥰
How was it?
How boring we would be if we were all alike. Keep your traditions alive. Love where you came from . 🇱🇧
Your kids friends must have loved hanging out at your house because of the wonderful food you're always making!!! You bless us all with your knowledge and skills.
How could you not Love this Nonni, she is full of life🍷
"Nonna", please.
She sounds exactly like my nonna did. Very broken English.
She is look like my mom . Very lovely
Nonni is plural, she's only one person, therefore is "nonna"
I love how Grandma said "I make fettuccine alfredo that my favorite son in law loves" lol 😊 Whoever her fav son in law is, u should feel special 😊
That son-in-law is dearly loved!!! ❤️💙🤍
Thank you Grandma. I am a Grandma as well but sadly I have no children. I am glad your son-in- law is feeling better. I am glad that you are back doing your videos. Bless you. 🙏
