Honda Civic Type R has long been one of the most respected hot hatchback nameplates in the business and the latest edition certainly doesn’t let the side down. It addresses the few flaws of the previous car, with a smoother ride and better finish inside. Most importantly, its practical, spacious body conceals a fantastic turbocharged engine, ultra-slick gearbox and handling that can’t fail to put a smile on your face. Excellent honest review, superbly engineered car, design not everyones cup of tea but its certainly mine, love it.
The more I seen it the more I grow to like the way it looks, I'm at the point now that I really like it and would buy it.

I got the Goodyears f1 on my 2018 si and the car rides as smooth as a baby's bottom. I think it was a dealers tire package.
I love the FK8 Honda Civic Type R. It’s so much more beautiful than my friend’s FK2 Type R!
You mentioned how Supple the ride quality was in Comfort mode with the Type R, so can I assume that it's a lot better and more comfortable than the ride quality in the Focus RS?
My question is, how quiet it is on comfort mode?
Is that a Barbour Jacket you're wearing?
Replace the AC? With Duel climate control? Will it still have AC?

AgletDC can I ask why u hated Honda? I don't understand what is wrong with a Honda so many people hate it sooooo much! I had a convo with a Honda hater and I asked him the same question and he was very honest. His answer was, He race a rice civic with his m3 and he got smoked by the riced out Civic. His excuse was he didn't know it was turbo charged! He was fuming 😤 he lost to a Honda! 😂😂😂😂😂

I really like the design of the car, the new Civic looks like no other hot hatch. But why so many, and such large fake plastic grilles where real ones would have been functional as brake system coolers ?
To me this ruins the aggressive look of the car by making it look cheap...
I may be wrong on the design issue, I am no car engineer, just an amateur :)
I think that Honda conjured up the best for the money on this type R by far. It's really fantastic what this car delivers athletic. And they made this car affordable, especially for young people. Grade 1 for the exact steering. Grade 1 for propulsion. Grade 1-2 for cornering. note 1 for the outfit. Note 1-2 for fuel consumption. Nobody can type in this class. and red is the only one color for this Performance . great H.T. Duisburg , Germany

Always great reviews but hardly a good advert for TypeR performance.
I just think you should match the excitement of the product to the video.
I still can't get along with the styling. It's not that it's mad, it's just what it is. I'm looking forward to mugen's bodykit, which will probably be more subtle for some bloody reasons.
Steve Edward Did You See what Mugen did to the FK2 Type R, it was for from subtle.
I wouldn't hold out much hope if you're expecting restraint.
It's not subtle but it's way more subtle than the original. But what I really want is less "form" from the design. Too much fake grilles from the FK8, both front and rear. The FK2 Mugen's aero made the car look good without excessive useless pieces of plastic that don't do anything.

Kayzef2003 you'd be suprised about the amount of Middle Ages men who actually drive these. Most boy racers be in s3/m140 nowadays.

That looked like v tight headroom to me. Im the same height as him and found my head grazing the headlining in the back.

Most modern cars have that now :( Not sure of reasons but it improves space on the centre console, but maybe just cheaper to manufacture. Still sucks for a sports car

Maybe a slow shift due to manual box or longish gear ratio? Don't think the car is low on torque.
This is the most disgusting car I've ever seen, the Civic has become an ugly monster. This is an uninspirig design, there is not a single line to follow. I've owned two Civics in the 90th, which were class leading compacts, but this is nothing than a piece of scrap metal.

Way too ugly. I mean fake vents in the rear bumper kind of defines how big of an eyesore this is.
Terribly subjective looks and crap infotainment. My €45k would go to the focus RS or 2018 golf R dsg, all day long.
