Thanks! Its just an egg shaped silicone mold, i used vegan white chocolate and when I tried to unmold them they started breaking, so i just went with it 😆

Yum. I cannot eat swiss roll because it usually smell very eggy. But I will try this recipe
OMG when I had my bakery (it was not vegan) when we would bake a full oven of sponge roulade the smell would be overwhelming! Uggh

Hi Gretchen, so I made this today but I took some of the flour out and replaced it with cacao powder and it seem to turn out OK but I didn’t have this video to follow so I just basically mix on the liquid ingredients first and then put them dry ingredients on top of that and mixed it up didn’t look as thick as yours is mine was a little watery and maybe it’s because I didn’t have any soy milk. I used almond milk I hope that was OK? The other thing is when I was following Sara kids recipe on her blog it said oil not melted vegan butter, so did I get that wrong? I hope it’s OK. I used oil. It seemed to turn out OK although I noticed some cracks on top but perhaps a big did a little bit too long. But my question is this, when do you roll it roll it up first and then I’ll cool and then unroll it and then fill it and then roll it again.?
Hey there! So What I noticed about Sara's recipe in the cookbook it asks for melted vegan butter & on her website it is the same recipe except listing oil. Both are interchangeable. It's possible the cracks were from slight over baking, but also cocoa powder is a drying ingredients in recipes so this could have also played in. While I did not test this recipe as chocolate (I prefer Amy's recipe for chocolate rolls~ they are divine!! www.fragrantvanilla.com/vegan-chocolate-roll-cake/
I'll have to double check, but I thought Sara's recipe on her website had good clear written instructions? But I am sure she did NOT specify to do it that way, since I was happy to see it did not require pre-rolling. I just let it cool in the pan then rolled everything up with the filling
