The 2.0 TSI is not hard to work on. Just upgrade the pcv system to a catch can style part spullen makes a good kit that’s billet . Upgraded timing chain/ water pump.. down pipe. Tune and service your trans every 30k it’s actually reliable af
Did this service with my brother, takes forever but if you haven’t done it on your car it’s a yet. Mine gained some serious power back. Super happy with the results. And saved some money along the way

Check engine light came on with random misfire. Changed the spark plugs, coil packs, fuel filter with only minimal improvements. This is definitely something i have to do right away. Definitely subscribing and gonna check out the other videos 🙏
I wonder if it will be sufficient to just pour the valve cleaner through the spark plug holes, and let it soak overnight. I am feeling comfortable taking the intake manifold out.
I appreciate the effort gone in to the vid I may have to do this my self on my 1.8tfsi its stage 2 and just serviced the hole car and treated the fule it's still jerking after acceleration I was wondering how long did it take you to clean the valves and get the car back on the road

Ty crushing it again !.. Awesome video.. After carbon cleaning, butt dyno readings were 12 Hp 15 Tq more than previously lmao .. You def can feel a difference for sure , once cleaned but I have also seen alot worse than yours..

I have an inconsistent random misfire in cylinder 4 I replace coils, spark plugs, and that one injector and still misfiring. Going to do this next. (Update) did the carbon clean up replaced all 4 injectors and replaced the spark plugs again with OEM spark plugs and still rough idle and misfire cyl 4. I ended up selling the car because it was taking a shit on me as soon as it hit 100k miles didn’t want the car anymore.
Why would you not invest in a crappy harbor freight suction blaster and actually use walnut media to clean it up after you soak with cleaner and pick the stub urn stuff out ? I mean the whole point of the walnut media is it doesn't harm anything as long as you remove most of it from the cylinder what lil bit you cannot get that might be residing on the rings is insubstantial. The biggest concern would be blowing it back in your face while cleaning but you would have a rag over the port when doing it .. For other vehicles I tear the heads off and bed blast the valves etc.. but for this it would be a major pain. I would run injection cleaner from a suction canister through the pcv intake port for future maintenance and run a catch can between pcv and intake.
I have water meth installed in my S3 8p, I'm having the valve cleaning done in a few weeks time. I'll let you know if it made a difference once I see what condition the valves are in

The one that connects the manifold to the block? We call it the Satan bolt for a reason haha, I have small hands and have been workin on VW’s for years, take your time, wobble extension and patience
Using a breaker bar and a socket on the crank pulley, no need to rotate the engine position fully after completing as it has a crank position sensor and it’s pretty advanced
@@ThatGuyTyy Do you put the transmission in neutral prior to turning the crank pulley? Does crank pulley method work for both manual and auto transmission? (Just want to make sure I don't mess up my auto transmission.)
@@golfmaniac007 if its a stick shift, yes you need to put it in neutral. automatic, park is fine. it will have some resistance but it shouldnt be too hard. if you cant fit a ratchet on the crank pulley you can bump it with the key after everything is apart obviously so you can see which valves are open and closed (take out fuel pump relay so it doesnt spray fuel all over the place)
that is super tedious... not sure i can do it without breaking stuff, losing bolts, getting frustrated by stuff that won't come out, our striped screw heads.
Yeah it’s definitely a process if you don’t have access to or the knowledge to do walnut blasting, I may make another video on that method in the future as it’s about 4x faster just very messy

Probably had a solenoid valve go bad. Also could be a lifter

I have a 2013 A4 with the same engine and I’m just about to do mine since I’ve noticed symptoms. My car has 245xxx kilometres though, 150xxx miles

Also a lot easier if you remove the charge pipe going to the throttle body, even just at the throttle body, gives it more wiggle room

If that worked then every vw dealer on the planet would do it, hence why this service exists.
