Man, feel the power of her voice and her band! Miss the 80's the rock bands. Those of us who grew up as teenagers and young adults should consider ourselves lucky we were able to experience the 80's. A toast to the 80's and the good memories.
I like this version better than the studio version. The studio version sounds so thin, it'd be great if they could remaster it or even rerecord some of the instruments (keeping Pat's vocal track) to fill out the sound.
Riddir: ~ Yes -, Pat Benatar's song "We Live For Love" debuted on the Billboard "Hot 100" Chart on April 5, 1980, at the #88 position. By-the-way, here is the "link" to that chart, at the Billboard website: www.billboard.com/charts/hot-100/1980-04-05
The crap they had to put up with during their Chrysalis years..and Blondie was on the same label and Blondie (as was Billy Idol) went through a lot of crap with that label also..Chrysalis had signed brilliant talent and used and abused them..would be great to invite the Chrysalis artists from the past to dinner and hear their horror stories
Heard this on the radio today and HAD to listen again Haven't heard it in years! Will add this to my karaoke list for sure! Her vocal range is incredible. The back up music is infectious!!
Pat hits those notes every time. She hits them with astonishing clarity. That's because she has a highly trained voice:) Pat is a gem for humanity to treasure forever.
I used to request this at our roller rink, every other Saturday night…1980-1982, Jr High years. 😍😍By the 5th/6th time, I’d just wave at the DJ and he’d put it on within a few songs. Great memories attached to this song! Thanks, Pat & Neil + band. ❤
Phenomenal performance by Ms. Benatar and her band especially hitting all those high notes and alot of energy, didn't know that Scott Sheets played lead guitar on this song.
Here she is: Mrs. Ballbreaker in her finest glory! You see the range she was known for back in the day. Personally, I think this was her finest tune. I truly believe that!
I WAS 16 YO when I first heard this great tune. My number 1 by Pat and Nick, followed by "Promises in the Dark" and its EPIC transition at the end, lasting 4 seconds!!
remember rock music, our parents thought we had sold our souls to the devil, we worshiped it, it was the shining light that was going to save us all. WTF HAPPENED!
+Inter Stella ) It's happening now, see our sharing above. This is no joke tho the page is now Tsunami of love & Fun now. Fun... good. ) And no, we can't get enough of this video. )
I was 22 in 1982 so I can relate exactly to what you're saying. We were so lucky to have so many great rock bands then. These groups inspired me to learn guitar. What great times I had going to concerts then. I wish it was the 80s again.
Once, back in the day, Pat Benatar was asked who she idolized in music. She said that if she could sing like any one person it would be....,Chrissie Hynde:)
Genius really - quite possibly the most talented singer OF ALL TIME- and somehow Girardi portrays himself as the brains behind it all?? Second rate guitar player calls the shots and takes All the credit? Weird!
I saw her in Oakland in the early 80's and she brought her daughter on stage. She was a toddler about 2 years old and now she is a beautiful woman just like her mom. BENATAR ROCKS!!
@The096757 thats a pretty silly and racist comment and i guess based on the total garbage you posted is why she is a multi-platinum and multi-gramny holder:) lolx100
My adolescence was in 2003, living in a poor third world country where international music was a luxury item, at parties at friends houses where i had spent the whole week surfing torrents to acquire concerts like this one and make our own party at the weekend. Today everything is available on youtube and you don't value it, nowtime everything is "free" and you don't value it, so enjoy while you can.
It's scary how easily she reaches into that 4th octave.
I know, right? Crazy!
trained opera singer!
The first song I ever heard from Pat and still my favorite!!!!
Exactly the same for me !
One of the MOST BEUTIFUL VOICES IN ROCK AND ROLL HISTORY!!! THANK YOU PAT BENATAR FOR YOUR MUSIC AND ANGELIC VOICE!!!
In the 80s, every teenage girl wanted to be Pat. The definition of cool was Pat Benatar.
One of her best songs. It just rocks such a great voice. The band -drums and guitar are so underrated. They just kick butt in concert.
yeahh!
Neil wrote that song for her. It is my favorite......
@@boruff68 coincidence. They weren't dating at the time.
As a 15 year old in 1980 i spent alot of time alone with this film clip. A truly talented and beautiful woman
I hope when all is said and done, Pat Benatar is remembered for this song rather than "Hit me with Your Best Shot" or songs of that ilk.
Tropico is still my favorite album of hers.
Exactly 💯
It’s still my favorite song of hers. Her voice is borderline operatic in this clip.
Well, Niel wrote this one for her,and it is my FAVORITE! (BTW,she has recently quit singing "Hit me With Your Best Shot" just a few weeks ago....)
My fav by her
Those high notes send a shiver up my spine every time.
Still love this woman after 45 years she still can sing and put the artists of today in their place. No autotune.
Man, feel the power of her voice and her band! Miss the 80's the rock bands. Those of us who grew up as teenagers and young adults should consider ourselves lucky we were able to experience the 80's. A toast to the 80's and the good memories.

This has gotta be somewhere in the 1979-80 period. She's absolutely gorgeous. Life long crush on this lady.
Great quality vid. Thanks for posting.

The original in 1979 was way ahead of it's time. Great production, flawless vocals. Awesome song!
I miss the 80's so much it hurts
comeback rock music, why did you forsake us, we need you now more than ever.
Pat hits those notes every time. She hits them with astonishing clarity. That's because she has a highly trained voice:) Pat is a gem for humanity to treasure forever.
What's better is that she's Polish. ;)

Great lyric.
Glad the writer (Neil Geraldo, the guitar player) got the girl (La Benatar).
An American feel-good story.
Here she is: Mrs. Ballbreaker in her finest glory! You see the range she was known for back in the day. Personally, I think this was her finest tune. I truly believe that!
A wholly unique musical catalogue. Great, powerful voice, great & powerful songs & arrangements. 🙏🏼

Actually this is 1980
What a beautiful voice!
I WAS 16 YO when I first heard this great tune. My number 1 by Pat and Nick, followed by "Promises in the Dark" and its EPIC transition at the end, lasting 4 seconds!!

She could puke and STILL sound better than Britney Spears.
Hahaha ha hahahahahaha!
@@daniellegentner4326 Hahahahahahahaha
One of my favorites ❤️
Unless you lived it you will never understand the absolute power of this woman
I first thought this was a Blondie song.. Bet Benatar would've sung great w Giorgio Morodor.
Jsut saw her a few weeks ago and she is completely amazing! Best show I have seen in years. Just wonderful.
Love this song
Once, back in the day, Pat Benatar was asked who she idolized in music. She said that if she could sing like any one person it would be....,Chrissie Hynde:)
It never gets old.
Genius really - quite possibly the most talented singer OF ALL TIME- and somehow Girardi portrays himself as the brains behind it all?? Second rate guitar player calls the shots and takes All the credit? Weird!
Giraldo.
Go read her book. She’d beg to differ.
I think your opinion is slightly off
That chorus!! Awesome
I saw her in Oakland in the early 80's and she brought her daughter on stage. She was a toddler about 2 years old and now she is a beautiful woman just like her mom. BENATAR ROCKS!!
She was inspired to perform by seeing Liza Minnelli's 1973 "Liza with a Z" tour.
JESUS CHOSE ME. .BLUE RIBBON FOR CHILD ABUSE...I LOVE YOU...and DEMOCRACY .

Myron G.!
What an amazing vocal talent. And Neil Gerardo was(is) such a hottie. One of my favorites to this day.
I always stop what I am doing when I hear this gem.
Oh shit; this one hit a major nerve......
Kelly will never be this interesting.. sorry but she has a painfully soft image to maintain.. zzzzzzzz....
There's that opera training kicking in. What a crystal clear voice
Gotta give some credit to Scott Sheets also. He contributed a lot to the band playing guitar and keyboard parts on the first 3 albums and world tours.
Band was never the same after he departed.
I wonder if pat and crew remember corpus christi tx around 76 or 77,may have been 78 ? We enjoyed their concert always getting stoned back then.
her prime right here

This and Heatbreaker! Many of her other singles were sell-outs. Not all, but many.
My favorite Pat song!
Why does she keep staring at Scott? She’s like undressing him every time she looks at him.
🎉❤one of my favorite pat benatar songs from the early age of the late 70s -early 80s era
❤❤❤FOR US, MY BEAUTIFUL FELICIA 🌹🌹🌹
A bad ass singer, bad ass band and a bad ass drummer Myron Grombacher
She’s perfection, in every way.
