Absolutely the greatest female rock star in rock history. The incredible range in her voice, her incredible beauty, and not to mention the incredible husband-wife songwriting team between her and Neil Giraldo.
I was at this show! I grew up a five minute walk from the New Haven Coliseum and saw numerous great shows. I was 15 and a huge Pat fan, and this was an amazing show. My friends and I had floor seats, 6 rows back from the stage. When we saw the cameras all over the place with "HBO" on the sides, we nearly shit. It was not announced that this show would be filmed, so that only added to the crowds excitement. What you won't see if you watch the whole show is how many people were smoking weed, myself included. How artists can play or sing with what had to have been a severe contact high is beyond me. There was no big screens at this show, if you wanted to see the performers back then, you needed to be up close. I can tell you she is better looking in person, which is seldom the case. Tiny woman too, maybe 5' 2" at the most, so she always wore heels. This show was louder than hell, my ears rang until the next morning. Then last year I finally saw her again, and she hasn't lost a thing. Other than the short hair, it was like a time warp. This time there were giants screens on either side of the stage, and she looks amazing. She doesn't look face lifted or bizarre, just very healthy and strong. She's living proof that taking care of yourself pays off in the long run. I seriously doubt Justin Bieber or Miley Cyrus will be able to do their "act" when they are Pat's age. It's too bad that the music industry, especially in the US, only sees women as sex symbols & markets their music to appeal to teens. Pat could blow away most of today's performers even if she was in a wheelchair.
+Miura Mike COOL! ..This is my fave show from her, also the Van Halen 5150 show from New Haven in 1986 when New Haven officially became New Halen for a night :)
Miura Mike I went to this tour too, the following year on St. Patrick's Day 1983 when the tour hit the west coast. I just turned 15, and my second concert ever. The night was electric. And yeah, there were smokes everywhere! I remember getting my tour jersey for like $13! And that was a lot of money then.
One of the best female singers in rock. No auto-tune needed here. It’s pure God given talent. Women give up so much in life to be a ‘rock star’, but she is one of the few 1970’s rock singers that didn’t bottom out with drugs, booze, pills, etc. Keep rockin’ Pat Benatar!
I am from Guatemala, in 1986 I went to the USA as a exchange student. The family I was staying took me to a video rental and told me I could pick a video. i took home the video of this concert!
This sounds SOOOO good with good quality head phones cranked up. THIS is such a great rock performance. Often, its disappointing to hear a live rendition of a great studio track, because it often just doesn't live up to the studio tricks and gimmicks, and the performers often go way off and "wing it" without being faithful to the studio version that everyone loves and is used to. Not her. She nails it so perfectly. She and her band were "on point" decades before that term was even thought of. Every. Damn. High. Note. ...nailed 100% And the band was just absolutely kicking it! God I miss the 80's.
Congrats to Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo being elected to the 2022 Rock & Roll HOF. I remember watching an interview with Lemmy of Motorhead & he said "Pat Benatar's got a great ass", he wasn't lying!😍
Pat is the queen of rock! Her vocal range is awesome. Pat Benatar belongs in the hall of fame...what is wrong with some people? I will take Benatar's voice over any female singer in the last 25-years. Her music will never fade away. Pure classic!
What a voice and what presence Pat Benatar has. She's another performer who ought to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Just listen - no enhancements, no auto-tune, just Pat and her incredible voice.
Somehow she always looked much, much taller than her 5 foot frame. Loved her way back when I was a kid. Such a performer. And so humble. And didn't resort to hard partying or heavy drugs or obnoxious diva like attitude. A class act and huge talent to boot. Goes to prove you don't have to be rude and arrogant to make it in the business.
I was hooked when her cover of John Cougar Mellancamp's "I Need a Lover" hit the airwaves - but this was the song that "sealed the deal" for my becoming a forever fan of Pat Benatar. I'm pretty sure I wore the grooves off the 45, playing this over and over again.
I was in nosebleed stage right at this concert in Dallas 1983; last year I finally met her!! I was upfront every concert after 1983. She is really a sweet person; so humble. I got a pic with her; we were hugging! Makes up for the nosebleed section with all the stoners passing their joints. Back then couldn't sneak in cameras; they checked womens purses! But plenty of weed! Here's me pissed at everyone now with fucking camera phones recording concerts; if only we had that back then!
What a banging performance, you can feel the spirit of a young woman in her prime in love with music , absolutely wonderful, and Neil on guitar just kicks ass all over the decades.
What a atomic rock dynamo at only 5 foot tall!!!! Pat I've always had a crush on you since jr high. I saw you again a few years back at a Indian casino concert and you still rocked the house.god bless you.......
She has two RIAA-certified multi-platinum albums, five platinum albums, three gold albums, and 15 Billboard Top 40 singles, including the Top 10 hits "Hit Me with Your Best Shot", "Love Is a Battlefield", "We Belong", and "Invincible". She was nominated for a 2020 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Superb in every way. Truly one of the greatest female rock / pop vocalists of all time. Her performances never disappointed -- energized, fully connected to the audience, and few can match her live vocals. And she was and is a beauty, a pleasure to watch and to listen to.
I'm always impressed by the effortless power a talented singer produces. She hits those high register notes with perfect pitch and volume like she's just breathing.
most of the 80s singers dressed so great, simple and cool, they were just themselves, no heavy costumes, just amazing talent and great performers, fantastic decade, brilliant, thanks for uploading 😀
Don't get No Better than THIS , RIGHT HERE!!! The 80s kicked Major Ass --- Thank You PAT & Band --- EVERY show, you guys left it ALL on the field ! When bands had balls , touring almost EVER year to promote their records 😎😉😊☺
Dang! The way she goes from Ronnie Spector/Chrissie Amphlette on the verse to Beverly Sills slays the Met on the chorus is just mind boggling! What a voice...
Yeah. Another one is Deborah Harry. Saw a live version of her singing Dreamin'. She sounded exactly the same as the recording and no, she was not lip synching.
Wow you are so lucky to be able to have seen her live! She's a great performer, I did saw her a few years back at the taste of Chicago, but it wasn't the same as when she was a lot younger, even though she was really good! At her peak that most have been awesome :-)
It's a few days from Super Bowl 50 and I would rather see Pat Benatar who is a American Rock Icon perform at half time than my lads (Coldplay who I love! ) having a guest in Beyonce" ! Love this song & performance!
I was there that night,..I had a massive ear ache before the show,....ugh. Saga opened up for them (for whoever's interested) Pat and her band were amazing!
Besides being totally hot in this video, Pat Benatar comes closest in this song to unveiling her operatic background. While she's a rockstar legend in this format, I wonder what levels of creative beauty her vocalizing would have attained had she continued in her operatic endeavors. The high notes in this song frankly outshine every tough gal note she belted out in her entire rock career, and this has always been my favorite song of hers going back to 1980 when it was first released.
This song came on the radio today and suddenly as if by magic I was thirteen again, playing the 45 over and over, LOL. "We Live for Love" was the first song of hers that I experienced. It's such a rare treat nowadays to hear this particular Pat Benatar tune; when they play her music on 105.3 it is usually Heartbreaker, or Love is a Battlefield. I once heard that Benatar could have chosen a career in opera at one point in her life. Aren't we fortunate that she chose the path of rock and roll.
Wow!!! That had to be an amazing show. What a performance and that voice. Her voice is one of the best ive ever heard in a long time, and of course Amy Mann from til Tuesday. This song is amazing and is my favorite song from Pat. It was one of the first songs i heard from her. She is a Goddess. Keep on rocking Pat!
Absolutely the greatest female rock star in rock history. The incredible range in her voice, her incredible beauty, and not to mention the incredible husband-wife songwriting team between her and Neil Giraldo.
So you think you can play drums. Then Myron shows up. Myron just killing it, showing everyone how it's done! For me this is Myron's best work.
Oh absolutely
He's no Clem burke,Google dreaming( blondie)
Lol. Amazing. When u watch him, he’s practically dancing while playing. Like he’s in the front row rather than behind the kit.
Some of that stray cat style
Grombacher...👍👍👍👌👌
That voice, that Spirit, that beauty...God is an amazing Creator.
Amen!
He certainly got it right with Pat !
🙋♀️ Witness!
Pat was the best female vocalist of the 1980s and it has to be said, she was the hottest looking one as well. Simply awesome
Sexy doesn't even describe someone so talented
No singer today is as truly beautiful

Nobody fucks with Pat Benatar!!! She is the greatest female preformer to ever live!!!
She belonged to the 80s but yes, your comment is more accurate in saying "one of the best"
She's definitely an 80s artist.
She's a goddess!
Absolutely a master of her voice! She originally planned to go to Julliard to hone her 5 octive range. Thank goodness she became a rock star!
And to think she orginally wanted to be an opera singer
Myron Grombacher is amazing. That guy is in his own world behind the drums. AWESOME !!!!
Agreed, is he still playing with them?
Def influenced by Keith Moon.
Definitely influenced by cocaine! Lol
Agreed Huge drums too anyone know what Brand
@@tedp7773 he's no Clem burke,

This should have a million likes.
I have said it many times and will say it again - Benatar is the world's best female vocalist. She is the complete & real deal.
Reply
Yeah...no one today compares to her level of talent. Amazing!
U mean "Precious Time" right!!!!!!
That little b***h can truly slay a tune!
Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo are both complete and the real deal. Cheers!
IT IS TRUE !
i was 11 when MTV started. i was lucky enough to live in NJ where cable tv carried it. pat benatar is a huge part of my childhood.
Woah!!! I was not expecting her to sing and rock so hard. Amazing voice and presence. She truly is a rock Goddess!!
She is a rock godess
She is just effortless when she sings.
Boy she can sing,,
I love how she hits that High F# in the Chorus "we LIVE for love"...so Ethereal.... Just like the single
@@boruff68 Just like Eddy was trained classical piano
Pat Benatar ended an Opera career to sing Rock.....You can hear her Operatic voice singing the high notes--"We Live for Love"

The sound of those drums is fucking amazing same as her voice jebus
Congrats to Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo being elected to the 2022 Rock & Roll HOF. I remember watching an interview with Lemmy of Motorhead & he said "Pat Benatar's got a great ass", he wasn't lying!😍
This is how I remember Pat Benetar, I am 60 now.😁
Same. I'm 57 & had a huge crush on her in the 80s!❤
why else would we live --it is for love ----great beautiful song

True Hall of Fame rock star. And Neil Giraldo ain't shabby either.

Seriously I can't get over how amazing her voice is!!!! A true ROCK STAR!
Saw Pat Benatar in concert at Newcastle city hall in the eighties. It was a tremendous concert.
Jesus those high notes are crazy good

When an Artist hits their Apex .. there is nothing more magical...
I'm always impressed by the effortless power a talented singer produces. She hits those high register notes with perfect pitch and volume like she's just breathing.
Incredible voice, great song, written btw by her future husband Neil Giraldo, lead guitarist.
She is awesome. I miss the 80s. She should be in the rock n roll hall of fame. Bullshit she isn't. She is a badass!!!!
5 feet of pure talent.
My angel
My favorite because omg, that voice gives me chills!
Amazing, such a big voice coming from someone so tiny! Great talent, superb stage presence. Total respect!
I use to have hair like that❣ LoL..
*I miss the 80's*
Boy I just can't get enough!! I love the way the synthesizer and the drums sound on this one with her voice!! Is harmony!!
this has always been one of my most favorite Pat Benatar songs from the very first time I heard it till now it still hits me the same way
Heroina del rock, Pat Benatar para mi esta en el top ten de las mejores voces femeninas.
I remember hearing this great Pat Benatar song on the radio at college!
Great voice, and no autotune in sight. Many modern singers could learn from Pat Benatar. A true professional.
Pat Benatar! We Live For!! Parabéns!!❤🎵🎶🤘🤘🤘

I could watch her do this all day.
Wow, she hits the high notes in the chorus effortlessly!
Yeah. No need to lip synch. She was and is a fabulous vocalist. The real deal. Not all image.
She was an opera singer
daughter of opera singers (both parents)
Nous étions loin des performances de Madonna mais la voix de pat était magnifique
très vrai
I just LOVE how she sings the chorus. :)))))
Dang! The way she goes from Ronnie Spector/Chrissie Amphlette on the verse to Beverly Sills slays the Met on the chorus is just mind boggling! What a voice...
Her voice was so good, hit such good notes in every song she sang.
The woman has some chords and definitely beautiful...... yeah! Good memories and performances.
one word UNREAL
Their drummer kicks ass ! He reminds me of the Moon?
her best song... period. thank you for writing it neil
What a babe she was, what a babe she is!!
Stone cold rock goddess with the voice of an avenging angel!
またやっぱり素晴らしいです。!!!
Pat Benatar is my Spirit Animal.
She is so fucking hot here...not to mention the best female singer (or maybe just the best singer) of the 80s!
So beautiful! Even today
Love this Live performance, very great!!
5-octave Pat is amazing live.
Goosebumps every time...
She sounds as good live as she does on the record. That's pretty rare! Most singers don't.
Yeah. Another one is Deborah Harry. Saw a live version of her singing Dreamin'. She sounded exactly the same as the recording and no, she was not lip synching.
love all her songs but this is my fav. great live version.
This gay man has just gotten some serious chills, watching this and remembering i saw her live in US festival in 83
Because I can., and.too.piss people.like u.
"That woman can change any orientation." -- Mystic River
Outstanding. Still her best song. Too bad the stupid radio stations dont play it.
Man! I would had loved to be there! That was awesome live performance shes great!!
I saw her in Dallas 1983 this tour. I will never forget it!

Love this song & performance!
God, that voice…

I wish Spyder was featured in the video a bit more 😊 🎸 Great track, love Pats' vocals ❤️
PHENOMINAL!!!
Her vocals man. I can never ever get enough!!
I was there that night,..I had a massive ear ache before the show,....ugh. Saga opened up for them (for whoever's interested) Pat and her band were amazing!
The sexy Pat Benatar has such a beautiful voice and man.
Encantadora Pat Benatar.
Myron's best song! He's a drummers drummer!
This song may not be as well known as her "hits" but it shows her vocal range in a live concert, natural talent !
Besides being totally hot in this video, Pat Benatar comes closest in this song to unveiling her operatic background. How Pat Benatar is not in the Rock and Roll Hall but Joan Jett is makes me doubt the Hall's legitimacy even more than usual.

I was there. That show ranks as one of the best concerts I have ever attended - and I went to more than I can recall in my youth.
She is the bomb!
Goddamn YES
one of my fav Pat Benatar songs! so glad to finally find a live version
I love that keyboard riff....haunting...perfect counter balance to the vocal...and MYRON!
'Very strong and underrated group.
Neil Giraldo getting down 3:10 - awesome!
