Pat Benatar was something entirely different in the music industry and was an icon. I think what made her stand out was this expression determination and resilience that seem to be at the very essence of her unique creative style. This video has a special place in my heart because it tells a story of finding strength and resilience when the world believes that it has succeeded in attempting to unjustly validate you with judgement and ultimatum. The dance moves are simple, powerful and displays the resilience to fight back against adversity and to find meaning in self again. I love Pat Benatar. Thank you for the memories.
God, I LOVE this. I saw it when I was in my 20s on MTV when it came out - but I guess wasn't paying close attention. Now I'm in my 60s and it really got to me, really moved me emotionally. Thought at that time we'd never grow old, never not be "young" and "strong". Should be "LIFE Is A Battlefield". Thank you, Pat Benitar - for being part of the soundtrack of my life, especially when I was young.
PThe 1980s were a sonic explosion, and Pat Benatar was the detonator! Her powerhouse vocals and electrifying stage presence smashed through the airwaves, leaving an unforgettable mark. Benatar didn’t just sing-she unleashed anthems. Heartbreaker, Love Is a Battlefield, Hit Me With Your Best Shot-each track was a firestorm of defiance, passion, and unstoppable energy. Her music wasn’t background noise; it was a battle cry. Every performance was a high-voltage surge of rock intensity, blasting through the speakers and burning into the hearts of millions. While trends fade, Pat Benatar remains untouchable-a rock goddess in the Hall of Legends. Her legacy isn’t just history; it’s a living force, roaring with the same power it had when it first set the world on fire. For those who lived it, her music is the adrenaline of the ’80s reborn. For new listeners, she’s a revelation-a rock icon whose flame will never die. Contrast that with today’s so-called "music." The airwaves are clogged with auto-tuned, soulless tracks manufactured by algorithms and marketing teams. Meaningless lyrics draped over recycled beats create disposable noise, devoid of the raw emotion and rebellion that defined artists like Benatar. Where’s the fire? Where’s the soul? Pat Benatar’s legacy reminds us of a time when music could move mountains-not just playlists.at

Pat Benatar is awesome! Forty years on her music still makes me happy. I find myself singing along the lyrics and reminiscing about my high school days. In my opinion the music from that generation far surpasses anything that had come before or since.
common psychological trap, every person bonds with the music that was pervasive when they were between 12 and 16. thats why each generation thinks 'the music when i was a teenager was the best there ever was.' youre welcome to enjoy it, but there is no 'best music'
Surely there can't be many better openings to a song than the "whoa whoa whoa we are STRONG"....! the passion in it hits you like a bus....what a legend Pat is
The 80s were amazing, the music, the style (well, not all of it 😁), no social media trash, no Kardashians... I'm 56, graduated in 86, joined the Army within months of leaving HS... I miss those days so much!! We live in a toxic society now. Sad!! At least we have the 80s music, though!!

everything felt genuine, real and there was so much less cynicism and irony that is present today. somehow life was more natural in a good way, the way it should be lived - magical.
I’m pretty sure she made this music hoping that it would last forever and people would still be listening 100 years from now... so who cares how the young generation found this master piece. Just be glad they’re keeping it alive .
Couldn't get this song out my head all day. I lived out my teens in the 80s and Pats not wrong. It was a battlefield then, now it's more like a warzone. Some shit never changes...but Pat will get you through 😘
I'll bet you you even strutted like her when you walked along all day too. ( I have to admit I get a little salsa in my steps when I hear this song too LOL)
80's the best years of the last 100 years and to come too. Music, art, fashion, costumes, everything was buzzing. Love was in the air and life was eventful.
I'm from Cleveland. We call it the Rock and Roll Hall of Shame... British bands so influential and eligible have been snubbed (e.g.Moody Blues, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode ), The Go-Go's (watch the new Documentary about them), and so many more worthy. It's bad enough that induction ceremony is in New York and not in Cleveland at the Rock Hall. Because no one wants to come to Cleveland. I've been to the RRHF. It's free on MLK day. It's too expensive to pay admission to go otherwise. I had a conversation with John Taylor from Duran Duran about the sis from the RRHF, how he and Band members, felt about not being inducted. They're still making music and touring for 40 years. He laughed!! He said that it essentially wasn't a disappointment to the Band. After all, they've received higher accolades with greater meaning. And tbh, like I said, most of people I know are in 2 camps: they are either petitioning for a band (Duran Duran) to be inducted OR they recognize that induction is meaningless for a band. For me, if the ER Hall of Fame is to have any meaning at all, major changes need to be made. I firmly believe in recognition of legacy of Bands and the mark they left in influencing future music. However, when you induct GUNS AND ROSES??? OVER FAR MORE DESERVING AND CREDIBLE MUSIC INFLUENCES AND LEGENDS, you know that the whole thing is a hoax. It's political and means nothing and if you've visited, you'll see that it's really not a big deal. Although I did like seeing John Lennon exhibit and his piano where he composed music, the cigarette stains and burns from resting them mid thought to compose. I don't need to see Brittany Spear's red vinyl jumpsuit worn in a video. Jmho
By the way, Pat Benetar is not in the Rock and roll hall of fame. Can you believe that?? I'll try to find the website for the thread about this. What I call, as a Clevelander, and most of us around here The Rock and Roll Hall of Shame.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has officially announced the inductees for its class of 2020. They include Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, Whitney Houston, The Notorious B.I.G., T. Rex, and The Doobie Brothers. Come on.. These are before some others? Yeah, I agree about rap. But does it really matter? Artists won't come to Cleveland for induction ceremony. It's held in NYC. That tells you something. I don't give the Mock Rock Hall of Shame any of my energy. We know who are legends. Induction to a fake club doesn't matter unless the process has meaning, and Bands and fans and music industry view it as the highest accomplishment attainable. And it just isn't.
I was a kid on the street when this song came out, It was a song of hope. that things get better, they did. this song helped through ruff times...I will be fifty one. Thank You Pat and band,

Released 35yrs ago TODAY!! September 12th 1983.... And still as amazing as EVER
Thanks so much for making me feel old lol
This song is 1 yr younger than my life 😁 yw
Year I was born.
I Love this music. Was the best Time in my life
Hi Dolores, how are you doing
God I miss the 80s....take me back and never let me leave!
I was born in the mid 90s and I too would rather live in the 80s than the hell that is known as the 2000s
It was a great time in many ways. Pesky teenage hormones notwithstanding.
@Kevin Mazura - Take me with you.

The best days of the original MTV. 😢😢😢❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
Yes! Before cable and MTV had zero commercials ❤
In my country we didn't have MTV so in those years we didn't know the videos of those songs that we liked so much. 😖
No song in the last 30 years can compete with this as an anthem for Youth - the energy, the hopes, the passion!
The nostalgia of youth ... :)

Sure was! I miss that time so much, wish I could go back!
Pat Benatar’s legacy reminds us of a time when music could move mountains-not just playlists.at
Pat benatar was such a bad ass !!!
I had breast cancer stage 3.In 2018.Your music helped through the chemo and radiation treatments. Cancer free now.
Thank God!!! Congrats
Great news.

One of the greatest songs ever, in my opinion!

As a girl going into high school, I can confirm: 80's music is the best. Way better than anything coming out now.
Loved this video... The good ole MTV days... MISS this!!!
Surely there can't be many better openings to a song than the "whoa whoa whoa we are STRONG"....! the passion in it hits you like a bus....what a legend Pat is
One of favourite rock tracks of all time especially love the longer album version with guitar work at the end
👍
The 80s were amazing, the music, the style (well, not all of it 😁), no social media trash, no Kardashians... I'm 56, graduated in 86, joined the Army within months of leaving HS... I miss those days so much!! We live in a toxic society now. Sad!!
At least we have the 80s music, though!!
Y puedo estar orgullosa de esa época porque la viví!!! Aquí tenía 15 años y me encantaba todo lo de Pat
Damn I wish I was born in 1975 so I could enjoy the 80's and 90's music, great tv shows and movies and have some real fun and good time. But noooooo I got to be 23 now and living in this fuck up time. Hands up don't shoot! Good bless all.
At the very least, Pat is still around in the fuck up time and you're not the only person with those feels. lol
***** yes I am aware that she is and she look good. And thank god I'm not I thought I was an old soul for a minute.
If it makes you feel even more better, I listen to some 60s old soul (The Supremes for ex.) and I'm about to turn 21. Lol
***** yay! We some old souls haha. No we not we just know good shit when we hear it.
You are disgrace for generation y
When music videos back in the day were like mini movies, great decade the 80s was.
Love 80,s music it can never get better than that
Right like all videos from like late 70s too late 90s were awesome then ,,BS STARTED NOW THIS ..LOL..
A true classic that will live forever
I wasn’t born in the 80s( was born in 2001) but I feel like I can dance tf to this song Bru the beat is impeccable
This lady is by far one of the greatest rock stars of the 1980s! I’m a black guy and I can listen to her all day & nite and twice on Sundays! Pat is the s*#t!!

how is being black related to the music you listen to? man I'm not white but ehhhh?????

Right? Had a junior high girlfriend with a benatar fixation.
this was in 2009, but an 80s & 90s theme.

WTF is up with today? Everything is so deliberately horrible and superficial wrapped in a thick, perpetual meanstreak. Time for us to buckle down and give our children something better.
@@Debonair.Aristocrat Dude it is horrible I feel sad for our children. Can you imagine living like this back in the 80's apocalyptic to say the least? I miss Reagan so much lol and I do not dig this excuse for a president at all. Sorry if you are on that side which is part of the entire mess.

Pat Benatar + Rock and Roll Hall of Fame - Make it happen!
She's not in already? The RNR Hall of Fame is a farce!!
I know Brent she's overdue for it!!
Her voice is something else ❤
