So I’m from New York but I’m in El Salvador right now at my airbnb in antiguo cuzcatclan as I’m typing this . Thank you for giving such an informative and balanced opinion on the country. Everyone I’ve talked to here has noticed and felt a big positive change when it comes to security and safety , and the statistics speak for themselves .
I have a trail of star tattoos on my chest and I was walking around shirtless in surf city and at my hotel palo verde and no cop was looking at me suspiciously thinking I was a gang member 😂.
I find it ironic that Canada warns it’s citizens that they may get killed if they come here when on a daily basis there are mass shootings in the United States yet they don’t warn their citizens about going to the United States .
Another thing I’d like to point out is the decreased number of Salvadoran citizens that migrate to the US . If you look at the number of asylum seekers coming to the US, they’re mostly from Haiti , Venezuela Nicaragua and Cuba .I think that’s indicative of the economic and safety progress the country has been making .
I went to some waterfalls today at tamanique and I just looked around thinking how much this country has to offer . I feel like El Salvador is this unknown hidden gem that’s just starting to get discovered. I’m looking to make this place a semi permanent residence in the near future .
Thanks again for your confident and I love your dog 🐕‍🦺

Thanks for telling the truth on this topic. I don’t know who is writing those articles posting a warning ⛔️ as such ? All I hear from tourists is that El Salv is an amazing tropical country to visit. It’s just getting better everyday! I can’t wait to visit it and eat delicious pupusas 🫓 yum 😋

Im looking to live in a small town on the coast...sounds like a very hospitable place with good locals.

Hi guys, enjoy watching your videos. when I hear you talk about high walls, razor wire, makes me reminisce my growing up years in El Salvador when none of that existed, we were free to roam the streets with friends until the wee hours of the day, climb trees to eat the fruit, until dinner time. when I returned after being out of the country for several years, it was shocking even to me to see high walls and razor wire (civil war years of course), watching your videos is refreshing I would call you pioneers and witnesses of the present transformation, seeing the country through a different lens, and who better than you who had no experience of the terrible past. This Canadian (and not only Canadian by the way) travel advisory is more a reflection of what they are experiencing in their own communities, blaming and critizicing others, makes them feel better about their own failures and shortcomings. Honestly you are an inspiration to many of us who choose to look the other way to what is going on in the world.

About the broken glasses glue to the backyard/front yard brink walls...I myself see it as normal since I grew up in El Salvador and our house had broken glasses around our 8' high fence back in the 80s. About women being harassed we call it "piropos." It doesn't bother me at all when a man whistles at me or tells me, "mi amor" or that I look good. I grew up in that environment. Of course, a foreigner may feel she is being harassed since she is not used to it. Great video!

I have tats on my arms and I walked by police and soldiers; they didn't bother me. they know who they are looking for. I have family in El Salvador who live in the small towns, and I myself just got back there and was absolutely inspired to see how much the country has changed for the better under the Bukele regime. There is a sense of optimism and hope for the future that I have never seen, I hear it from the locals I've talked to, as well as what my family says. Bukele isn't perfect, in fact there are things he is doing that I don't like, but you cannot deny that El Salvador is not the same country it used to be and I love it. All of these articles, and governments talking this nonsense needs to shut the hell up and let my family's country evolve!

The violence problems in Canada and USA are getting worse day by day and are mostly massive shooting. just a couple of days ago an old man 72 years old killed 10 people in Los Angeles. People mental health here is very compromised. And Biden or Trudeau, don't come with an acceptable solution. In El Salvador is the post war consequences. and the young boys got involved in the maras in Los Angeles schools and street. Very sad, but Bukele has to sacrifice this young delinquency. Great job, guys! I appreciate your work. May I make a request? Could you please do a video talking about the water situation? You mentioned that your drinking water is bottled. Where does that come from? Are there safe wells? We're in talks with Jeremy and seriously considering relocation to El Salvador. Thank you!

    • @twopeopleinparadise
      @twopeopleinparadise  Рік тому +1

Hi! Rather than make you wait for a whole video, we'll do our best to answer your question here.
The challenge with water is two-fold: infrastructure and climate. As a tropical climate, everything thrives, including parasites and other infectious organisms that can survive in wells to incredible depths, and in rivers, lakes, etc. Due to the past several decades of corruption, criminality and gang rule, the infrastructure required to treat this water is either not in place, or is not especially sophisticated.
Everywhere we've been, the water comes out of the tap clear and clean. There are no odors or discoloration. The tap water is safe to shower in, wash dishes in, brush teeth, fill a swimming pool with, etc., but for drinking and cooking, virtually everyone relies entirely on bottled water, as this water is guaranteed to be free from infectious organisms. We have seen some people rely on their own reverse osmosis systems instead, and indeed our first apartment had such a system installed, but the norm is bottled water.
The bottled water is provided chiefly by a company called Agua Cristal. They have an extensive delivery network throughout the country, and bring five gallon jugs (like those for water coolers) to residential homes on a weekly basis. Each jug is $2.75. We leave our empties outside with the money, and they swap them out every Friday.
Agua Cristal uses a proprietary water purification process called Hydropure. As it is proprietary, details on the process are scarce, but we know that it includes RO and UV. Agua Cristal is a member of several international drinking water associations, and also has a line of beverage products sold in stores. They also belong to a regional anti-corruption organization, and operate throughout Mexico, Central and South America.
A new, modern water treatment plant is part of a $230 million development plan for El Zonte, and so upgrading the water infrastructure is on the government's agenda. Given the immense development happening here, and its rapid pace, we anticipate that the tap water here will be on par with or better than that of the developed world inside of this decade.
Bottom line, you don't have to worry. The water situation here is different that you're used to, but it is under control. Also, in the event that you do pick up a worm or parasite, safe and effective medications for that are readily available at little cost and without a prescription (primarily nitazoxanide).
Be sure to give Jeremy code PARADISEPPL to receive 15% off his immigration services! Also feel free to reach out to us on Twitter. Our DMs are open and we'd be happy to chat with you. Congratulations on your bold decision, and all the best!

    1) You can’t get detained for having normal tattoo’s, the authorities know who the gang members and their collaborators are, if your tattoos don’t read MS13 or 18st, then you have nothing to worry about.
    2) Those volcano hikes most of the time include police officers and guides.
    3) Yes, even neighborhoods once considered gang territory (like Tutunichapa, Soyapango, etc) who’s infrastructure was abandoned for years is now being fixed, so it’s not just tourist areas.

Hi, I been meaning to reach out to you. You mentioned twitter, but I also saw an email address you provided to someone else. What would be the best option? I would love just 5 minutes of your time for question on moving to El Salvador and to share bit of background. Thanks!

Twitter is the best way to make contact! We are working on a new means as well, as not everyone has Twitter

In El Salvador we are a militarist county it is one of our traditions
It's not something recent because of the terrorism problem but part of our heritage since the inception of the country
I'd say get used to it .
I've followed every single speech every single tweet and word of our President since before the election and thank God our President knows our strength lays in what we know
In fact last year the state was considering bringing back mandatory military conscription for youth although they didn't go through with it because many of the people didn't agree
If it was up to me it'd be brought back immediately

Thank you, Both for this news about the work of President Nayib Bukele and the people that have strived to make El Salvador a better place for their citizens and visitors. It is sad to hear so much misleading news from such powerful countries, knowing the horrific past of El Salvador. Powerful countries at peace whose Information tries to destroy the President's hard work so that this beautiful country can't better itself.

It is perfectly natural to flirt with women in all Latin/Romance cultures
Women will be almost 100% whistled at and called pretty etc

El Salvador has bad urban planning in majority areas, and bad public transportation

Hi guys, just recently stumbled across your channel and am very happy about that! I'm going to move to El Salvador within a month, joining my girlfriend there.
As for road rage: my girlfriend just send me a video, showing a US tourist who rammed with his pickup unprovoked an incoming native motorcycle rider...he was quickly detained and he looked like a crazy hippie from commie from commieformia
