I am planning to visit El Salvador; however, I will like to learn about Bitcoin. If one bitcoin cost so much money, how much is 100 Dollars, or 10 cents in bitcoin. Also what is the advantage to convert Dollars to bitcoin? If you can no explain, can you refer me where I can learn about bitcoin please?
Thanks for such a large and important question. If 1 BTC = $30,000, for example, then $1000 = 0.03 BTC, $100 = 0.003 BTC, $10 = 0.0003 BTC, and so on. One Bitcoin is divisible into 100 million smaller units called 'sats.' Continuing with our example, $1 = 3000 sats (0.00003 BTC), and $0.10 = 300 sats (0.000003 BTC). One thing to understand is this: Bitcoin's value has not increased. The value of one Bitcoin remains one Bitcoin, and that has been true since it was invented in 2009. The price has gone up so much and so fast because the dollars which buy Bitcoin have decreased in value just as much and just as quickly. The rise of Bitcoin's price tells the story of a declining dollar. Understanding this means understanding the advantage of converting dollars into Bitcoin: conserving your purchasing power into the future. Storing your wealth in dollars is like storing it in a melting ice cube: soon, and inevitably, your wealth melts away. Storing your wealth in Bitcoin is like locking it up in stone. But what good is money that doesn't spend? Throughout much of the world, it's not possible to exchange Bitcoin for goods and services, or doing so is exceedingly difficult. In El Salvador that's not the case: you can operate your entire life, or your business, on Bitcoin. Bitcoin is still relatively new here, and so it's not yet accepted everywhere, but it is accepted enough as to enable you to be rid of fiat dollars altogether if you're determined to do so. It is more complicated than this, but these are some ground-level concepts to get started with. To learn more, we recommend viewing the My First Bitcoin program over at our friend's channel, @njelsalvador. Another great source of good information is @Bitcoin_University right here on UA-cam. Also visit www.Bitcoin.rocks for loads of helpful and illuminating info. Hope that helps!
Good Stuuf! here is a summary: Ryan and Jessica are in El Salvador and are about to visit an island off the coast to meet Quentin, who is working on a project there. Quentin is teaching the local community about Bitcoin and its potential for their economy. They are currently organizing a trash collection event where children collect trash and receive $1 in Bitcoin for each bag filled. Quentin aims to build a circular economy foundation using Bitcoin to support the island's development. The island faces challenges such as poor infrastructure and lack of government support. Quentin also organizes English, Spanish, and Bitcoin classes for the locals. They plan to hold a Bitcoin Festival to attract tourists and showcase the island's potential. Quentin believes Bitcoin can bring positive change to El Salvador, but it requires effort and investment from the Bitcoin community. He encourages Salvadorans to visit their country and support its development. Ryan and Jessica had a great experience witnessing the organization's work and the enthusiasm of the local community. They believe in the concept of cleaning up the beaches and improving El Salvador one step at a time.
