I was seriously considering having a professional install this until I found this video -- it allowed me to get the installation done in less than 30 minutes once I had all the panels off and the harnesses exposed. I appreciate the time and effort you put into making this easy to follow. Awesome video!
I'm the other way around. Was gonna get it got my new vehicle but looks to complicated to do to take apart my new car. May see if I can hire someone to do it but for now not gonna purchase it
@@yagneshcontractor8793 it’s a plug and play setup and that’s why it doesn’t void warranty.. I have oem dash cam, lane departure, lane assist, collision control and BMS on my 2023 Rav4 LE Hybrid keystart.. everything works perfectly fine after the install.. no cutting or splicing of any wires.. imo install it you won’t regret it :)
I installed it about 2 years ago on my 2020 Rav4 XLE Premium, but I also installed the celular module so I can remote start it with my cell phone and open the car door with my phone (Just in case I don't have my keys and want to get something). Since I have dash cams in my car with battery packs I programed the module to stay on for 60 minutes instead of 15. This way I charge my batteries during the weekend when I don't go out much. Good job.
Wow! 60 minute run time, that’s crazy! Sounds like you have a decent setup going on too, especially with the cell module. I’m broke, can’t afford luxury right now. I looked and they were pricey. I appreciate that!
wat cell module do you have and wat battery pack are you using. I have the same 2020 rav4 xle hybrid. but i already have the start-x installed, and probably going to get an igla security module installed as well. thanks for sharing also.
Good instructions I have 2024 RAF 4 LE Key start vehicle, do you think this video similar to 2024 wiring ? and I am not knowledge about computer please let me know what did in computer. I have confident to install starter, this video will help . Thanks.
Does this have an overtake feature? Meaning does it turn off when I open the door or will it keep running and I just insert the key press the brake and go? Thanks for the excellent video
I really liked 12voltsolutions remote starts. It got pricey so I found an alternative. This kit is pretty good too. I haven’t had any issues installing it in a RAV4 or 4Runner.
Thanks for the tutorial, gonna try this on my 2021 Rav 4 LE before next winter. Is there any downside to installing this? Will it mess up any computer components in any way?
No problem! There isn’t any downside and it doesn’t hurt anything electronically. The only thing this kit does is when it’s remote started there will be a low tire light on the dash and a message on the radio until you turn the key and go. I don’t mind it too much because if it didn’t do that, the car would turn off when you opened the door (like some kits do), that was their work around (I called and asked them). I’ve had it installed a year now, with absolutely no issues.
I installed this on my 2024 Rav 4 LE. Any clue on how to lock/unlock the other doors after remote is running? I can’t unlock any other doors after remote start is running on my rav4.
So with just the kit, your range is however long your stock keyless is now. They do make an extender that works a mile or 2 away and they also make another kit to unlock it with your phone with unlimited miles (connects to a cell network, if you have service of course). I have this kit and the extender kit, here’s the install on that: ua-cam.com/video/TpWpSUm8iWY/v-deo.html
If you have that option, sure, but mine did not. The lower trims don’t have that feature. And unlock button?? It’s supposed to start the car with 3 presses of the lock button.
Hello, there is a problem, I connect to startx, carlink does not work, only shows charge and location. I changed protocols one by one, it did not help, the car is a RAV4 23, version le. I will be grateful for any help.
I get a vehicle alert on my radio of tire pressure warning system. I was wondering if you or anyone has heard of this issue with the Start-X on a 2022 Rav4. Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated.
It’s completely normal. The only way they could get it to work around all of Toyotas safety features is to start it without reading your tire pressure. Once you put the key in and put your foot on the break and go, it’ll turn off. The message on the radio just hit ok and it’s gone. If you let it run for awhile after startup the message will come back. If you start it, get in, and go the message won’t appear on the radio.
Hahahah, yeah it’s definitely in there pretty tight! You have to press the tab and pull pretty hard while rocking the whole clip back and forth or side to side. I thought I was gonna break it when I had to remove that huge connector. You got it! Good luck. Haha.
@smitheys Thanks for the quick reply! I managed to get it off. Here's another question: When you bring it back inside and program it and get the 100% Complete and need to bring it back in your car do you need to restart the blue light process earlier in the video or just plug it all at once?
@smitheys last question. When I put all the panels back the bottom one that goes under the steering wheel. I put the bottom screw back in but the left and right one I can't find the holes for the screws to go inside?
i got 2023 rav 4 key version non hybrid i really dont want to do no subscription its really stupid that it works with subscription yet i have to get a kit i really dont want nor i tryst anyone taking apart my new car

Excellent video. Just installed the unit today on my 2023 Rav4 LE and it was easy to follow. I just wish I had smaller hands. Lol
So it works on le 2023?
I know nothing about computers and watched this video just for the computer part😂. Well good video either way
Installed same remote starter on my 2023 Rav4 LE Hybrid Keystart.. everything works fine after the installation.. thanks man
does it void the warranty?

No, it’s just turn the key, hit the brakes, shift and go! Well, for the gas model. I don’t know about the hybrids or push to start.
Great vid you were straight to the point and described everything very well. Good job and thankyou so much
You made it so easy ! Thank you
Glad I could help!
Does this work exactly for the Fortin Evo starters? Great video.
Porque la 2023 rav4 hybrid xle premiun awd no trae la opción de abrir la puerta trasera, con la opción de pie me podrás ayudar cómo hacerlo 😢
what other brand of remote start kit is typically your go to? You mentioned using another brand at the beginning of your video. Thanks

Unfortunately I was not able to download what is need from the website because it’s only for windows and not mac
Sorry to hear that! Borrow one from a friend, family member, or just go to the library.
Do you know if it is the same installation for a Toyota Highlander?
I’m sure it’s pretty similar but I honestly don’t know for sure. Every vehicle model is different.

Hi, What is the range distance to start the car? Can you add some device to extend the range?

Um just press the unlock button on the remote twice then hold, have to do it a couple times but it works -ish.
If you have that option, sure, but mine did not. The lower trims don’t have that feature. And unlock button?? It’s supposed to start the car with 3 presses of the lock button.
@@smitheys I have a 2020 RAV4 hybrid limited and it's the unlock button twice then hold, didn't know they didn't all have the same remote.

This is only works for Key version?
The kit I bought only works with the key. There are push button start kits as well.
so you can delete the key start or key requirement altogether@@smitheys
