Just followed your video through installation on a 2017 Highlander Limited. I paused and played as I went, took my time and it was still way less than an hour. It would have taken way longer with the supplied instructions, trying to figure out where the connectors were, not to mention the panel disassembly. You saved me a lot of time. Excellent video. I watch a lot of these types of videos as I try to do most of my own home and auto work if I can. This guy has a great presentation style. He's very detailed and assumes that you know nothing about what you are doing which is exactly what any of us who are doing this for the first time need. Many of the other videos on this subject gloss over many of the important little things you need to know. I would NEVER have been able to successfully complete this install with our his help. Just a word of caution though. When he shows those pieces just popping of, its not that easy. You really need to pry some of these pieces off. But if you work at it like he advises they will come apart. He gets a 10 out of 10 from me.

Just wanted to say thank you. I have a 2015 highlander and bought this remote start. I was able to install it.. plug and play.. no problems. And works perfect.. 30 minutes from start to finish. Thanks again.

Video was helpful. My 2019 xle had a bit of a different set up with one of the wire harnesses but it was easy to figure out. Also an FYI, installing the remote start stops the start-stop function.

Excellent video. I bought my remote start from Accessorides and this was much better than the paper instructions I was given. I have a 2018 Highlander. Once everything was opened up the connectors had a slightly different layout then what was shown in this video but I was able to figure it out.
Mine has slightly different layout too, but we failed and now it’s not even start
FYI: If you have the 2016 and older Highlander the plug at the ecu is NOT in the middle, it's the top one

Made my first time ever doing anything on the car super easy, worked like a charm
Thank you for the disassembly tutorial. However, I was under the impression that all recent Highlander models had factory remote start, especially the Limited or Platinum trims. Basically anything with the EnTine audio system or better I thought. You just have to press the lock button three times holding it on the third press until engine starts. Unfortunately the engine will shot off when a door is opened. Just how Toyota does it.

For future reference, it is very easy to trick the door so that the car thinks the door is shut. That will stop the beeping. It's hard to explain in text but if you look up a video you will see, it can be done in just a few seconds.

I followed your instruction but after connecting all the wires and then pushing the push to start button twice the blue light on the module just stays on without turning off and does not starting to blink/flicker like yours does in the video. I have disconnected and reconnected several times. Do you know what the issue could be I have a 2019 highlander.

This video was very easy to follow, of course, once i order a system, im going to be looking like wait, whaaatttt, and ill have this video to reference, other videos not so detailed or all over the place, to many cut to scenes, this video, i could follow along with and i feel confidence enough to do my own install, quick question about the unit you have, Does the car cut off every single time you open the door or is that something you have to press to tell it to do so? It is a great feature but I would like my car to continue to run, and once i unlock the door to enter, i can basically hit the push to start and go. I don't like the cranking multiple times because my car is a 2004 ford expedition and I fear that may damage the starter.
Unfortunately, This is for safety reasons every time you open the door the car is going to shut off

I am still doing more research to see if the unit i desire exists, but if not, I may just get this unit, if available, or something similar and hopefully it goes well and i don't disable my vehicle. lol.

No. if you start the car using the push button or the key, The car will only turn off if you use the remote and open the door after using the remote 😊🙏🏾

try calling MPC remote start Company 520-572-2220 and ask them about your vehicle

not sure i like this remote starter. the regular ones don't shut down when you open the door. should let you take over.

What remote start is best? I saw on your description you added two type. I have a 2016 Toyota Highlander xle
I recommend you get the MPC remote start . I had to remove the one in this video because it stopped working after 3 days. so I have the MPC remote start on my Toyota Highlander right now and it's still working great

I can’t remove the lower panel where the buttons are to get to the connectors. Any suggestions? It’s on so tight and I can’t get it lose.
if you find the button that's holding the lower panel you'll need phillips screwdriver to loosen it and pull by hand

At 5:51 is where I got stuck. Literally stuck where I can’t get that panel off. It’s on so tight and I didn’t want to pull too hard and break something. Your video, otherwise, helped me so much!!!!

can you tell us what the maximum range of the remote starter is?
The remote starter doesnt provides any additional range but only works on the existing range from your factory remote

I Installed this remote start kit on my 2017 Highlander limited and the doors no longer lock with the automatic lock timer after exiting the vehicle have you or anyone else experienced this issue? Every thing else seems to be working fine.
everything is working great on my Toyota Highlander maybe you need to return it and get a replacement

you only need one, I will recommend the MPC remote start because I ended removed the one in this video because it stop working so the MPC remote start is the one I have on my Car right now and still working great
